Please take a moment to read through my listing throughly and then send me a message introducing yourself, telling me a bit about your stay, etc. I welcome you to my home!
**Please take a moment to read the below details as they will answer any questions you have about my space. When requesting to book, please send me a message introducing yourself as well as any additional guests that will be staying, and the purpose/intention of your visit to the SF Bay Area, and details about the length of your stay. This will help me approve your booking faster and welcome you into my home!
I have a two-bedroom one-bathroom flat in the Ivy Hill area of Oakland. It is located a few short blocks from the gorgeous Lake Merritt and about one mile from loads of coffee shops, Trader Joe's (a grocery store) and restaurants/bars. There is a bus right outside that can take you downtown to the BART (subway system) that will take you into San Francisco. I live approx. 1.7mi from the nearest BART station but the bus right outside my flat takes you to BART in less than a 10min ride. There's also plenty of street parking outside. My flat is on the second level, so you will need to climb up stairs to reach my flat. There is no elevator.
I keep my living space very clean. There are couches you can lounge on in the living area and a table with two chairs to use for meals. I have premium cable including HBO (and On-Demand), an AppleTV (Netflix, etc), lots of DVD's and high-speed, secured WiFi that you are free to use. The kitchen is yours to use as well; I am a vegetarian, however, and ask that you please don't prepare/cook meat in the kitchen. (You can eat meat in the house but I just don't want it cooked here - fish is fine).
I am friendly and easy going and love hosting travelers! I ask that you be respectful of my space; no smoking indoors and minimal noise after 10pm. We will be sharing the bathroom so of course I'd like to be respectful of each other's time and space when using the restroom/shower.
I work full time so I am most always gone during the day. I ask that you check in in the evenings when I am home from work.
My guest room features an all organic, luxury, top of the line mattress and premium latex pillows! It is quite comfortable, so expect to sleep well. I also provide premium bath towels and linens for you to use during your stay. There are two bedside tables in the room as well as a velvet chair and desk. There's also a chest of drawers and closet space with hangers to hang your clothes if needed.
If you need to do laundry during your stay, there is a laundromat located a few blocks from my apartment that I recommend using. It is close, inexpensive and open late.
If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact me! I look forward to hosting you!

Interaction with Guests
I like to get to know my guests when I'm not working (evenings and weekends). I enjoy sharing dinners or going out for a glass of wine.
Why should you stay in Oakland during your visit to the Bay Area? Oakland has a lot to offer, sunnier weather being at the top of my personal list! Oakland also has great restaurants, bars, clubs and neighborhoods to explore and it's just a very short 15 minute drive across the bridge to San Francisco. If you haven't rented a car, Oakland is easily accessible to San Francisco using BART (the subway system); it's just a speedy 10 minute ride into downtown SF! Oakland also has an array of gorgeous parks and hiking trails and is close to Briones and Tilden state parks.
The nearest BART station is 1.7 miles from my apartment. It's about a 30 minute brisk walk, or I recommend taking the 18 line bus, located a block away, for a quick 10 minute ride downtown to the BART station. If you have a car, you will find there is plenty of street parking in my neighborhood.
- NO ADDITIONAL OVERNIGHT GUESTS
- No pets allowed at any time
- No children
- No smoking, please (if you do smoke, you must do so at least ten feet outside the building on the sidewalk)
- Please do not cook meat (fish is fine, red meat & poultry are not) in the kitchen (I'm a vegetarian), but it's fine to eat meat in my home, just don't want it cooked in the kitchen
- No guests that haven't been discussed first and approved (and again, NO OVERNIGHT GUESTS)
This was our first experience with Airbnb and it was wonderful!! Naomi was so quick to respond and was very helpful! Do yourself a favor and go to her restaurant recommendations!!
Her apartment was very clean and we felt right at home. We felt safe in the neighborhood and there are many things close-by. We rented a car because we were traveling into downtown SF and around Oakland, but she is reasonably close to a BART station. Parking on the street was easy and there was always a spot. The room was spacious and the bed, sheets, and pillows were so comfortable I slept like a rock! Her bathroom was very clean and the towels she provided were so fluffy and luxurious! We really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have had more time to chat with Naomi. I wish there had been a blow dryer and a microwave. Other than that we loved our stay and hope we can stay again!!
Our stay at Naomi's apartment was fantastic. My boyfriend and I stayed at her place for a week while searching for housing in Oakland. It was just as described in the listing and the only surprise was how much it felt like home by the end of the week! The bed IS just as comfortable as mentioned in reviews. Like sleeping on a cloud:) Our only concern was the neighborhood and leaving our belongings in the car. But Naomi helped us mitigate risk by allowing us to put all of our stuff in her garage. She even helped us move it! We highly recommend staying with Naomi.
Being from Canada, my friend and I were looking to spend a few days in the Bay Area. Naomi's response was within minutes and she instantly wrote a private email detailing time of arrival, departure, etc. It was extremely simple and organized. Naomi's place looks exactly like the pictures on the website. My friend who took the bed, said that it was the best sleep he's ever had! He really loved the mattress. I slept on the couch, in which I had no problems with.
My friend and I didn't have an opportunity to really get to know Naomi (conflicting time schedules), but she was very helpful and kind. Additionally, her home had a very welcoming environment. Overall, I would definitely stay at Naomi's place if I'm ever back in the Bay area!
We stayed 3 nights in Oakland to visit San Fransisco. The apartment is very cozy and located in a quiet neighborhood makes you feel like home.
Naomi is a very nice host, warm and welcoming. She helped us to find some good places we can go out and eat, close to where she live (walking distance).
I came as Naomi's guest and we became good friends. I took up her offer to pick me up at the airport when I first arrived in CA even though I wasn't moving into her place during the first month in CA. This was the sweetest gesture anyone could ever do to make their future guest comfortable. She is uber nice, easy going and will do all she can to make you comfortable as her guest.
I stayed with Naomi for 2 months while working as a traveling nurse and always felt like I was at home. The place is always sparking clean, the bed is so very comfortable. The place is tucked in a little nice part of Oakland, half a mile from the lake. There's plenty of cafes and restaurants around the area, she will provide you with all her favorite recommendations.
I couldn't have picked a better place to call home!
My husband and I needed a place to live for the month of February while we started our new jobs in the Bay Area and house hunted. We found a great apartment, but at the end of our month with Naomi we were definitely sad to move! Naomi was the best host one can ask for: clean, respectful, professional when she needs to be, suuuuper personal and fun and charming on the regular! We had a lot of fun watching tv together and talking about everything under the sun. Naomi is also a go-to person for all kinds of practical advice about oakland: shopping, bars, restaurants, costco, you know . . . all the stuff! So enough about how amazing Naomi is--the apartment is just as amazing! Bed is SO SO SO comfortable, real top quality mattress! The rest of the apartment is cozy, warm, clean, inviting. The neighborhood feels really safe, there is super easy free parking right down the street, and February was a great month, what can I say! Good thing we moved pretty close by so we can see our new friend for life :)

Naomi is a nice and friendly host. I just stayed for 3 nights but felt very comfortable. We just met two times as we were both very busy.
Room is very clean and with friendly decorated. Matress is a Little too soft for me but still slept very well on this high Quality bed.
Street parking is okay and Naomi offered her spot when she was out.
Would definately stay again.
I am pretty well traveled (for an American, ha ha). I love traveling, meeting travelers and learning about new cultures and ways of living. I am very laid back and easy going with a sarcastic yet dry sense of humour. I get along really well with everyone.
I enjoy reading, writing, cycling around new cities, traveling, photography, art modeling (posing for photographers, sculptors, artists, etc.), cooking/baking, regional beers, vegetarian cuisine and good wine. I don't cook at home much anymore but I do love my breakfast kale/spinach/fruit smoothies!
I love electronic music, particularly drum-n-bass, juke, dubstep and trap. Anything with a heavy bassline is right up my alley! I am not home much as I have a full time weekday job and a very active social life outside of work. I do love sharing a dinner or glass of wine and good convo with all of my guests, when time permits.
I absolutely LOVE AirBnB hosting! I've had such great experiences and have absolutely adored all the people I've hosted. I hope to draw more wonderful people to my home because I love learning about your travels, culture, life experience and share your joy of traveling and enjoying my home town. :)
