The Neighborhood

Miramar is a historic and very lively neighborhood in the district of Santurce. It's been called the Art District. Big art events take place in Santurce and there are two major museums. Architecture is beautiful in Miramar. It has preserved wood houses and elegant "spanish revival" homes from the 1950s.
Miramar has become a very popular hip neighborhood. It has lots of restaurants (peruvian, mexican, hamburgers, italian, japanese, chinese, puertorican... you name it!) and night spots. The new Convention Center is in Miramar. Condado beaches are a short walk away. There is great public transportation you can take to go to Old San Juan (8 minutes away) or hop on the train (8 minutes away) to get to the University of Puerto Rico, Guaynabo or Bayamón. And, if you have a car, it is easy to get to any place from here.
If you are planning on doing some cooking, the supermarket is a couple of blocks away and there is a gourmet food market called "La Hacienda" where you can buy "gourmet dinner" to take home at a reasonable price. You will love this neighborhood.

Getting Around

Walking ... all is so close! You don't need a car!
Public transportation is readily available: Bus
There is a Taxi stand two blocks a way.
You can also rent a bike or a car.

Other Things to Note

Please, please, water the plants during your stay (every other day is fine). There's a hose in the garden you can use. We will appreciate your effort to maintain the garden beautiful & green!
