The space
Church Hill, built in 1848, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and sits on the birthplace of Texas legend Sam Houston, within sight of the Sam Houston Wayside. This spacious historic home is made for gathering with family and friends. With room to spread out both inside and out, guests don’t need to be from Texas—or history buffs—to instantly feel at home and fall in love with this one-of-a-kind property.

We are siblings that grew up at Church Hill which has been in our family since 1837. We live in other places now but love this home, its where our hearts are and we enjoy coming home to it as often as possible. We each remember our childhood filled with people stopping by from all across the country that had come to see the place where General Sam Houston was born. Then in 2000 a movie location scouting agent from Hollywood stopped by. They made an agreement with our parents to film several scenes of the Civil War movie "Gods and Generals" in the home. Well, that gave people another reason to stop by. We inherited the home from our father in 2014 who was also born and raised at Church Hill. We have made many renovations to make the home really comfortable for guests. Thanks for your interest in Church Hill. We hope you can visit sometime!
