Clean, Quiet Suite w/ Private Deck

House - Entire home/apt · Fatherland St, Nashville, TN 37206, United States

The Space

This great space is a newly renovated, 2nd floor Master Suite in a classic Nashville 1920's Victorian House. Decked out with all the amenities of home, this classic restoration features a Private Bath, comfortable queen bed, well stocked Kitchenette, great natural light throughout and a Private Deck overlooking a back Garden lush with trees and shrubs.

This space is newly renovated, well furnished and very comfortable. It includes a private bath with a large fully tiled shower and plenty of clean towels, shampoo and soap.

The Kitchenette includes a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, superb local coffee from Portland Brew and a variety of teas, sugar, honey, creamer, coffee cups, wine glasses, pint glasses and utensils. Bottled Fiji water in the fridge when you arrive.

The bed is a queen sized futon and of course, bedding (clean sheets, blankets, pillows and extra pillows) are provided.

This space also includes a 37" Flatscreen TV, DVD player and Comcast. I get a lot of stations but not all.
Redboxes and Blockbuster boxes are a short 5 minute drive.

Internet WiFi is always up and running : )

I'm also happy to open up my kitchen (see photos) to any guests who wish to extend their stay.

Parking is available on the street directly in front of the house

The house is located in East Nashville's Lockeland Springs neighborhood and is a short walk to Shelby Park, Shelby Bottoms walking/biking Trails, Shelby Golf Course and the very popular 5 Points commercial district where you'll find excellent restaurants, fun bars, coffee shops, a great little neighborhood market and a wide variety of locally owned shops on Woodland and Fatherland Streets.

From this location it's an easy 15 minute drive to Vanderbilt, Nashville International Airport (BNA) and just a 5 minute drive into Downtown Nashville where honky tonkin and live music and events can be enjoyed 7 days a week at a variety of venues, clubs, bars and dives.

About me:
I'm a self employed musician, artist, writer, researcher, woodworker, podcast host, bitcoin enthusiast and jack of all trades generally. I'm easy going (most times), quiet, friendly and a good conversationalist who is always ready to talk about the sights and sounds of Nashville's entertainment offerings, the best places in town to eat, drink and be merry and the places to avoid at all costs. : )

NOTE: This is a non smoking house. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on this property. In fact I don't even lease to smokers. If you are a smoker of any tobacco products please look elsewhere. I quit over 2 years ago and I just can't have it around. Thanks for understanding.
: )

Final note: I have a very friendly Siberian Husky who likes to talk. His name is Max. He is good with people, he does not bark, and he does not have any bad dog smell. But strangely enough, sometimes he smells like corn chips.

Please feel free to ask me as many questions as you can think of BEFORE committing to stay here. The more questions you ask, the more answers you'll get!

Thanks for visiting!

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • John has a beautiful apartment, which feels very private and really luxurious. Great atmosphere, which helped to add to our lovely stay in Nashville. John was responsive and helpful when there was some back and forth about arrival times / keys, and helpful without being too intrusive. The neighbourhood is fun - very hipster in places, but with some good bars, restaurants and breakfast places, and well-sited for getting downtown (walking over the pedestrian bridge was a great experience). And Max is lovely!

  • Our stay in East Nashville was very enjoyable. John has a lovely home and is truly an amazing host. The suite is, indeed, clean, quiet, and so charming. Just what we NYC-ers needed for our visit to Nashville. The location is great... only a 6 or 7 minute drive right into downtown Nashville. Great bars/restaurants nearby as well. Max (John's dog) is also very friendly. I found myself calling him up to the suite throughout the day just for the good company. I highly recommend John's home for your visit to Nashville! :)

  • My husband and I had a wonderful time in Nashville and John's house was the perfect place to stay. It was so spacious and beautifully decorated. It was quite and just felt so homey and nice. John was an excellent host and very welcoming. His dog Max is beautiful and the most mellow dog I have ever met.

East Nashville is a great area. You are very close to everything but you get to experience what it would be like to actually live in a neighborhood there. If you are trying to decide where to stay when you visit, don't look any further! The only thing I would change was the length of our visit. I wish we could have stayed longer :(!

  • Beautiful place, restored with historic eye to detail, very clean and convenient to East Nashville. John's dog Max (a very friendly husky) is an added bonus! We enjoyed our stay very much.

  • Our stay in Nashville was made all the better by the lovely accommodation at John's house. East Nashville is a great area to stay - easy for downtown but with a villagely feel. The apartment was very nicely furnished and comfortable. The bathroom is beautiful, the decoration impeccable and everything worked perfectly. We particularly liked being able to sit out on the back deck/balcony.
John was the perfect host and his dog Max is friendly but unobtrusive ( speaking as a non-dog-person ). We would definitely stay there again.

  • This was our first Airbnb stay and I have to say, the bar has been set really high! John is a great host, his house is BEAUTIFUL and his friendly husky, Max is super cute.

The house was equipped with everything we would need, is very comfortable and the best part - is in a great location. Convenient short drive into downtown, but also good restaurants and parks within a short walk/drive. John recommended "The Silly Goose" for dinner, and it was fabulous!

John is a pleasure to work with, flexible, prompt in communication and very helpful with suggestions (if needed). Also, we were forgetful enough to leave our credit card at his house and he was extremely nice in mailing it back to us along with some beautiful pictures! Wow!

I would highly recommend John and his house, and I hope to be back sometime.

  • My fiance and I had the best time staying at John's place in East Nashville this past weekend! It's a great place - lots of space, great light, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The bathroom is gorgeous, and everything was immaculately clean. We also loved hanging out with his huskie - though he'd leave you alone if you weren't a dog person. Overall this was probably my best Airbnb experience yet!

  • John's place was in the perfect area of East Nashville for us. Close to great restaurants, 5 minutes from downtown and located on a very quiet, safe street.

John has remodeled the whole upstairs which is the guest suite. He did a really amazing job, it's beautiful and had everything we needed. If felt private and was very quiet.

We love his sweet dog Max who would check on us occasionally.

We've been all over the country, staying in airbnb places and we would definitely recommend John's suite. He was very accommodating, flexible and easy to work with.
