About This Listing
The house is located on a hillside above the Old Train station, three-minute walk away from the world-famous Museo de las Momias. It offers a near panoramic view of the city of Guanjuato.
The colonial-style house has three floors and a courtyard. It is surrounded by a tall fence for privacy and security. The house is not wheelchair accessible due to many stairs and its location on a narrow callejon with no direct access for cars.

We do not charge a cleaning deposit. We trust our guests to keep the house as it was on arrival.
The house has a fantastic view but it is on a narrow street with closest car access a block away and requires walking up stairs to get to the house. I would advise against renting our house If anybody in your group has mobility problems.
Check-in time is between noon and 8pm and check-out is before noon.
The Home Near Museo De Las Mommias was perfectly located. Just expect a lot of stairs. It's a mere ten minutes to the centro, unfortunately the line out of the mummy museum was too long because it was a huge holiday, but we were able to explore the rest of the city with great ease. The view was great from the upper patio of the city and hills of Guanajuato. I would definitely recommend a stay here. likka was helpful quick to respond to my questions, but it's ideal to know fluent Spanish as it would be much easier to communicate with Leonora. Thank you likka for hosting!
Nice clean house at a low price. Excellent views from the upper balcony. Easy 15 min walk to the center. WiFi and facilities work well. Good communication on Iikka's side. I felt dumb not knowing Spanish when trying to talk with Leonor. We were leaving late and checked out late. All worked out very well.
The house was great! Not only was it beautiful, but the view it has from the balcony is amazing. I stayed for 6 days and probably my only complain is that I couldn't stay longer with my family. My family and I are def planning to go back and stay at Iikka's house!
Had an excellent stay at Iikka's place in Guanajuato. Iikka responded to all inquiries quickly and gave a great restaurant recommendation as well (Casa Valadez). This place would be difficult to find the first time, so it was very helpful meeting Leonor at the Mummy Museum. Upon arrival, Leonor gave us a tour of the house, and we were given fresh towels and the bed was clean and made up. The bathroom is a bit small and the water pressure is okay, but it was very clean and there were extra rolls of toilet paper. There are instructions for wi-fi next to the computer; however, the wireless SSID & Password listed on the instructions were incorrect, so I used the SSID & Password listed directly on the router & I was connected to wi-fi in no time.
The house is only about a mile from the center of town (if that), and if you need to take a cab, it's only about 30-40 pesos ($2-4) to anywhere in town (Note: cabs do not have meters, so make sure you ask the price before getting in). The view of Guanajuato from this house is stunning, day and night, and it's in a very safe area.
I would definitely recommend Iikka's place. He was very helpful and friendly through email and responded quickly to my emails, and Leonor was very pleasant and helpful upon arrival (fortunately my wife is fluent in Spanish, so that helped in communicating with Leonor).
Thanks to Iikka & Leonor!
We had a wonderful stay! My two best friends and I stayed in this great home for 4 days this February. The weather was perfect, so we were thrilled to stay in a home with so much outdoor space - we left the windows and doors open most of the time, had our breakfast out on the back patio, and a glass of wine up on the balcony at night looking out at the beautiful city lights.
Leonor was very prompt in meeting us at the mummy museum - and very helpful in showing us around the house and the town. (good to note - she speaks very little English - our Spanish is ok and between the 3 of us we were fine, but if you speak little to no Spanish, it is a good idea to have a translating app on your phone to help you out)
Iikka was also very helpful in the lead up to the trip - he answered all of my questions about the house and the town - as this was our first visit to Guanajuato, it was nice to get a few tips from someone who has been traveling there for over a decade.
The stairs leading up to the house are no joke - I'm pretty sure we all lost a few pounds during our stay - but we loved staying in this neighborhood and feeling like locals - we took a different set of stairs each time we ventured out, and really felt at home after a couple of days - we were definitely sad to leave.
There is a great little store just a few steps away from the house that Leonor can point out - it is very convenient for picking up a few groceries, or if you run out of something like eggs, milk, tortillas, beverages, etc.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Guanajuato is an absolutely stunning and fascinating city. The locals are incredibly friendly - you really get the sense that everyone wants to help you to have a great visit - they are very proud of their city and they should be. I can't wait to go back - and I will be staying in Iikka's house again!
Ikka's home in Guanajuato was just as he described. The house is very nice and has lovely views and outside areas. The kitchen is not fully equipped for a lot of cooking, but then again street food and restaurants in this town are plentiful. It's a pretty far walk into the center of town, so be prepared. Leonor is very nice and helpful. The two bedrooms were nice and cozy.
