"one bedroom suite"
and "three bedroom apartment".
Each apartment has it's own outside entrance, and is rented out separately.
Large grounds surround the house.
Have your choice of eating out on the many island restaurants or cooking at home. Kitchen has the basics, so you can stock up the fridge and cook at your leisure. There is a charcoal grill on the grounds, if you'd like to barbecue.
Bedroom has a king size bed and there is a sleeper in the living room.
Located in the center of Shelter Island, about a mile from the beach and the nature preserve.
Shelter Island is a peaceful place, where you can enjoy the bay beaches, bike around the island, go hiking in the nature preserve, go kayaking... Just hop on the ferry and you'll be in a different world. Still only minutes away from the Hamptons or the North Fork.
Rates for the apartment from $167 to $192/night weekdays, $218 to $252/night weekends. 2 or 3 night minimums on season. Please inquire about the minimum stays, since they vary and we are not able to differentiate here whether it is one night or 3 nights. Weekly rates available.
The apartment was just what we needed! It's spacious with a full kitchen. It's a bit outdated but definitely did the job. It's centrally located on the island so it's easy to get everywhere by car. Anu left the keys for us and the place was perfectly clean. Hot water was good and cable TV was appreciated. King size bed was a nice added touch. Perfect for a night out of the city!
We had a fantastic stay in this wonderful apartment. It is much more spacious than the photos convey. We were three adults and one baby, and everyone was extremely happy. The location is great, in the center of the island, with everything very nearby, and the island as such is of course a gem. Would come back anytime! Thank you to the hosts for providing us with such a wonderful place to stay!
Lovely place - nice, comfortable and clean. We highly recommend renting this for the weekend or over a week. Shelter Island is quite pretty and does not have the typical Hampton crowds.
We received an email from Anu (before we left home) telling us in detail how to find the apartment, how to get in, how to contact her. She also included information about Shelter Island attractions, and nearby restaurants. The apartment was immaculate and welcoming. I called to let her know we had arrived, and that all was excellent. We discussed how we should leave the apartment when it was time to go home. Unfortunately, we did not have time to meet due to my busy schedule (we were in town for a wedding).
We had a great stay at Anu's 1 bedroom apartment. The space is quite big - I wish my NYC apartment was this big! The location is great, right in the heart of Shelter Island, closer to the South Ferry, and within walking distance or a very short ride to the better restaurants on the island.
We loved relaxing on the screened in porch and using the grill.
As others have noted, the sound from the upstairs apartment is prominent. A group of younger people stayed above us and it was quite loud until they went to bed each night at 12:30/1am. Other than that, everything was as noted. The house is older, but every room was clean and comfortable.
Had a fantastic time, the apartment was clean, quaint and kid friendly. With the bed, fold out couch, and extra folding cot bed in the closet we had many options on where our 5 y/o would sleep. The walls were thin and we heard our neighbors especially in the bedroom, but it didn't become a huge annoyance since everyone seemed to be in a mellow mood.
Anu answered all of our questions no matter how annoying i became!
We enjoyed staying at Anu's apartment. It was very clean, spacious and comfortable and she had everything ready for us when we arrived at the house. It's on main street and was easy to find, but quiet and relaxing. There were different units in the house, but each had own different entrance. Only thing was that the wall between units were very thin and a couple who stayed next us came back after midnight and we were able to hear all conversations and waked us up. Other than that we enjoyed the stay so much! Thank you so much Anu!
