  • My wife and I just enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing weekend at Andrew and Maureen's spectacular home! They were a pleasure to share our time with and made every effort to help us feel comfortable and plugged into the local scene (seems like they know everyone in Nelson!). Yes, the views are as good as they look online (or better). We brought our pooch along and he loved every minute of running up and down the lake/chilling at the house. He even got along with their dog, Canoe (sp?) I'm sure that the hosts would love to meet your furry family member as well, if given the chance.

  • From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed and at home. We were in awe of the breathtaking view, waterfront, beach and gorgeous details of their home. You can tell a lot of love was put into the place. We spent some time in the incredibly large hot tub looking across the water to the mountains. Truly magical. Andrew and Maureen were the greatest most gracious hosts and we definitely recommend staying here! It was a highlight of our trip and will be coming back for sure!

  • It would have been a pleasure to meet Andrew and Maureen anywhere, but to be a guest at their wonderful lakefront home, was really a treat. The lake setting is absolutely wonderful, enhanced by a stunningly designed home, with some great features, like the outdoor lounge area and outdoor shower to ensure you enjoy the lake view to the max. The guest room was very comfortable with another stunning view and we enjoyed a fresh and tasty breakfast.

  • One can expect to have a good experience while staying on Kootenay Lake or near Nelson, but ... If you want to do it in style then you might consider staying with Andrew and Maureen. Our gracious hosts have all the usual amenities available plus a few that we did not expect.

We are cautious when inviting friends to new places so were delighted to find we had chosen well here. The kitchen was fully equipped for our preparation of Saturdays feast with our friends from Cranbrook. An added bonus was watching the meteor shower from the lap of the supplied kayaks out on the calm waters of the lake.

Andrew and Maureen are generous and fun. I would recommend their place to my friends.

  • What a superb stay! Andrew and Maureen were so friendly and welcoming. The house that they have built is stunning - beautiful, panoramic views of the lake with its own private beach, modern interior with your own steam shower! We used the kayaks on the lake which was fantastic. Andrew & Maureen even offered to share their food with us so, after popping to the local supermarket, we all shared food on their BBQ and had a wonderful dinner overlooking the lake, watching the sun go down and eagles fishing for their dinner! The after dinner hot tub out on the decking was a bonus! They were happy to host us (which was great for us) but were equally happy to leave us to our own devices, recommend local restaurants etc. The room is at the other end of the house with its own bathroom, so you have complete privacy. In the morning, we had a long drive ahead of us and Andrew & Maureen got up early to make us breakfast and told us a few tips for our route to Alberta. Breakfast in the morning was scrummy! Thank you for a memorable stay - we'd highly recommend it. Sasha & Ed

  • This is the place with a WOW factor to beat them all. We felt so priveleged to have stayed here with the absolutely brilliant hosts Andrew and Maureen.
The house is stunning, the views and stunning, to be able to see the stars and the milky way by night and the beautiful early light over the lake, a photographers dream. Watching Ospreys and fish jumping in the lake.
We were made to feel right at home, more like old friends than guests, we had 2 magical days staying with them and couldn't have wished for more. I knew when we booked to stay with them it would be good, it passed all expectations.
Thank you again Andrew and Maureen

  • Andrew and Maureen (and pup Canoe) are fantastic hosts providing a spectacular experience. Their home is a work of art located just a few feet from the lake's edge. I highly recommend planning a trip through Nelson and staying here.

About
My wonderful wife Maureen and I are thrilled to be able to live in the Kootenays. We've both been in the area for about 30 years and raised our 2 children in this vibrant and artsy community. We finished our dream home on the shores of Kootenay Lake and are now ready to share this one of a kind experience with others. We are easy going and respectful. We are fairly new to the BnB experience but we are excited for the opportunity to meet people from other places. Andrew is involved in the window covering business and Maureen is retired from Canada Post. We look forward to hosting you in our home on the lake.
