Top-level, beachfront & best location in this charming, friendly, walkable town. Peaceful & quiet due to double-pane windows. Full kitchen, AC. Fastest Fiber-Optic Wi-Fi. 24-hour security. Strictly animal-free. Restaurants & coffee are just steps away. No elevator. Best unit in Casa Marina! PLEASE READ THE HOUSE RULES.
The space
The newly remodeled unit (2022) sits above the rest, and there are outstanding views of the harbor from the living room, kitchen, and workspace area. The bedroom has a nice view of the main street that runs along the beach and the green hillsides (the green turns brown in the dry-high season).
No Kids: Sorry, but we are not set up for children.
The space is specially designed for digital nomads, with the very fastest, most reliable Fiber-Optic Wi-Fi in town and good ergonomic seating (best for anyone under 6'0"). For you world travelers, we have decorated Casa Marina Azul with lovely local art as well as large wall maps of Nicaragua and Central America, plus a giant world map.
Relax out on the ocean-view balcony as you take in beautiful sunsets.
Secure building with on-site staff 24/7. There is a backup generator that comes on during power outages.
We installed double-pane windows in the master bedroom to keep the weekend party noise to a minimum, and we are the only unit in the building to have this feature. The master bathroom has a bathtub.
The 2nd bedroom does not have double-pane windows. If someone will be sleeping in this room, please alert them to the possibility of noise and advise them to bring earplugs.
All living areas have A/C and ceiling fans, and there is no additional charge for electricity. Please be mindful to keep the blinds drawn in the afternoon and turn off the A/C when not in the unit, as these units draw lots of power.
We have two surveillance security cameras—one at the entrance and one covering the inside hallway near the entrance.
You'll get plenty of exercise walking the stairs daily and the streets below. It's a walking town, for sure. If you are not in good physical shape and need to rely on the elevator, I don't recommend booking in this building as I can't guarantee the elevator's reliability.

What used to feel like a series of separate beach communities is now becoming a much more connected coastal corridor, stretching from San Juan del Sur toward some of the most desirable surf and lifestyle destinations in the country.
With the new roads, the time it takes to get to the beach is 70% faster than before.

Where you’ll be
San Juan del Sur, Rivas, Nicaragua
On weekends, San Juan del Sur turns into a party town, and the local clubs often continue playing music until the wee hours of the morning. If you're like us and prefer to sleep before 1 AM, you'll be glad to know we've installed a thick double-pane window in the master bedroom that knocks out most of the noise. Now you have the best of both worlds, being the center of the action but still getting a good night's rest. We are the only unit in the building that has made this upgrade. You probably won't need them, but I still recommend bringing earplugs.
FOOD:
SJDS is a charming town filled with fun boutique shops, restaurants, bars, and of course, the beach! There are two natural foods stores, including Nica Naturals. Several very good (and affordable) beachfront restaurants are just steps from Casa Marina. One of the best coffee shops in town, La Toastederia, is a 30-second walk. Other notable coffee shops include Ding Repair (4m walk) and Art Warehouse (4m walk).
SURFING:
SJDS is your home base for surfing. There are daily shuttles to nearby beaches, including Playa Madres to the north and El Remanso & Playa Yankee to the south.
GYM:
There is a gym for weight training located near Dockside called Gymsito, and it opens at about 6 AM. It's a three-minute walk.
MASSAGE:
Gaby's Spa is Nicaraguan-owned, and Gaby is the best in town. You can walk to her place in about 6 minutes.
NIGHTLIFE:
The leading upscale nightclub is Tuanis, located right on the water. They have delicious food (although more expensive than most places) and feature DJs most nights and live bands early evening on Sundays. It's a three-minute stroll along the beach blvd. There are plenty of economical dive bars around town. One of our favorites in 23 Moonshine, just a two-minute walk.
CRUISE SHIPS:
Cruise ships dock at the SJDS Harbor, and watching them enter the bay from our balcony or living room vantage point is fun.
We want you to have a great time and plan for these pros and cons in advance. San Juan del Sur is a fantastic town, and we love it!
