I really enjoyed my stay. Erica was not available but made it very easy to get access and also was very flexible. I was met by Joshua who was waiting for me upon my arrival and gave me the tour. It was pretty much as I expected and I was very happy with my room and the private shower. The common living, kitchen and dining were really nice. In saying this I do have to say this might not suit everyone. If you're looking for more of a homestay with locals this is not for you. I really liked having the privacy. There is another room rented in the same apartment but I hardly saw the people and the ones I did meet were really nice. I'd say single travellers and couples who are independent and more interested in being in a safe and comfortable environment close to places they want to see and experience. There is nothing fancy about this accomodation. However, for its price it is impossible to find any hotel in the vicinity that has what this apartment has. Erica's apartment is about an easy 5 min walk to Hollywood center where everything happens. Easy access to the Red Line which takes you to LA city center and also Universal Studios. Very walkable for those who do not have cars. Joshua did a great job of making himself available and came by everyday to tidy the common areas. I would totally recommend this apartment and would definitely stay there again.
Perfect location! Love the cozy, little room! It has a private shower inside the room!
The parking will be an issue, I have to park outside of the apartment because it's in Hollywood Blvd. But the host will reimburse you anyway.
This is an apartment in a very good location and with parking space. I love staying here that I can enjoy the life in Hollywood neighborhood. And the room is very neat and easy to check I. And check out. I will come back again definitely
Erica's place was great! Walking distance to the centre of all the activity in Hollywood and short drive from everything else. Will definitely stay again in future. The place was open and all basic amenities included. The carpark was handy as getting around in LA would have been difficult without a car. Only complaint was that the room did heat up during the day but the in room air-conditioning kept it nice and cool.
Even if I didn't see Erica she was very nice and when ever I had a question she respond very quickly with good recommends for what to do, where you can get the best food or even by hirering her car. It was great fun to ride the Mullholland Drive with it! Thank you Erica for the good host!
This apartment is in a fantastic location right on the walk of fame so it's really central and easy to get to by public transport(if you happen to be unfortunate enough to be navigating around LA without a car which we were). The apartment is lovely and very well kept. The air conditioning in the room is a bit loud but you get used to it after a night's kip. We had one minor issue where the landlord changed the locks on the door unbeknownst to Erica which caused us problems getting in one night but in all fairness Erica did her best in resolving this for us so it wasn't a big deal in the end. Even though we didn't actually meet Erica she was responsive in her email communications and helped us out as best she could.
The apartment is very nice and the location is perfect!
Erica answers queries very quickly too. She took care of everything although we didn't get to meet her.
The only downside for us is that the room can get very hot but there is some air conditioning installation and that helps a lot.
Overall I was disappointed with my stay at Erica's. The photos on Airbnb must have been taken very long ago as they do not reflect the current condition of the apartment. I had the following issues with the apartment which have been documented with pictures.
1) Erica is not actually a host of this apartment. She rents out both bedrooms, so don't expect to be staying with a local.
2) There (email hidden) unit in the room which is incredibly loud and there was no mention of this. Quite the opposite of the quiet description in the listing.
3) The blinds in my room were broken and missing, therefore allowing full light in the early morning hours.
4) The flat was very dusty and smelled. The apartment did not appear to be well cleaned at all.
5) The floor in the bathroom was gross. There could atleast have been a towel provided to cover it up the floor.
5) The carpet was unraveling in several places in the bedroom
Overall, the conditions were very poor compared to other places I have stayed at. The location is great, so if that's your most important factor, then it's fine, but don't expect anything pleasant.
I didn't meet Erica but she gave me all the information necessary to access the building and key/room easily. I only stayed a night but I wish I could have stayed longer! The street on a Saturday night was pretty quiet but if you just go around the block, you're greeted with all the fun noise of the Walk of Fame, the Highland Center which has shops and restaurants, and Hollywood Blvd in general.
The private bathroom was a great plus. There's plenty of space in the mirrored closet too. The room was warm (which I prefer) and cozy at night but you can always adjust the AC/Fan to be cooler.
Would definitely recommend and return if I could!
Both Erika and her apartment were superb.
Erika was always available to answer all our questions, even before I arrived at her place. She was also very patient and thorough in her replies & travel advice, which made my trip all the more enjoyable. She also went all the way out to volunteer to fix up our TV antenna when we only needed TV for one night. Overall, Erika makes an excellent host.
Her place was in an excellent location. Though very near Hollywood Walk of Fame, it was also in a quiet area, away from the noise. Her apartment was cosy and homely, and with adequate amenities.
Stay here! Highly recommended!
