Our place is a tidy and spacious one bedroom apartment on a beautiful tree lined street in one of the most convenient neighborhoods in Brooklyn. You get the whole apartment to yourselves (there are no other housemates or animals). We live in Boerum Hill, surrounded by many excellent restaurants, shops, markets and bars. Our place has wood floors, high tin ceilings, wireless internet, a large eat-in kitchen, and air conditioning.
Our neighborhood is situated right in between Brooklyn Heights, Carroll Gardens, Fort Green, and Park Slope; a five minute walk will get you to any of these neighborhoods. It is also a nice walk to the Brooklyn Promenade, and the waterfront parks in Dumbo. We are close to the newly built Barclay's Center, home to the Brooklyn Nets and site of many concerts and sports events. Our neighborhood is clean, family friendly, and filled with activities. Our place is a few blocks away from A, B, C, D, 2, 3, 4, 5, F, G, N, R, & Q trains. A look at the map shows all the train stations near our place- because we are so close to so many subway lines, it is a very quick trip into almost anywhere you want to go in Manhattan, and because of train routing, it is actually sometimes more convenient than getting places from within Manhattan. It's usually possible to get anywhere you want to go without having to transfer subways.
Great place. Very clean. Super cute. Nice and quiet. Extremely comfortable bed. And the location is fantastic - near great restaurants, shops and the subway.
We had a nice stay at Melissa's place - the location is just great, a few steps from the subway to Manhattan or around Brooklyn. The area is full of nice spots too - shops and restaurants. Cosy, clean and quiet place, although it feels much older than on pictures and you can hear the neighbour's phone vibrating ! But thank god that´s basically all we heard as the neighbours were all very quiet and considerate. That may well be also what living in NYC is about !
Terrific Location ! Subway around the Corner . Very Good Communication , Very clean place , Very Quiet . Everything was positive . An awesome Experience and Place to stay +++++++
Truly a great location in a fun and safe neighborhood. So near Trader Joes and many great restaurants and coffee houses. The apartment was spacious enough for the living room to serve as a
practice dance floor when I visited my father to prepare for my wedding. Also- the coordination between picking up keys and arrival was considerate and adaptable- thank you for making everything work out!
We had a great time staying here! Melissa and Khaela were helpful and communicative. They gave us information how to get from the airport to the apartment and made it very easy for us to pick up the keys. The pictures in here give an accurate description of the apartmaent, the place is nice and cozy and the neighborhood is also lovely. It was also very easy to get around with a few subway stops close by.
And by the way, we recommend Building on Bond (Khela and Melissa recommended it in here) We had great food and coffee there!
Melissa and Khaelas place is the perfect base for exploring NYC with a number of subway stations within a few minutes walking distance.
The place is clean and perfect for a couple on a romantic trip.
They were informative and responsive and provided us with directions from Newark aiport.
We would highly recommend it anytime.
We had a wonderful time staying in Melissa and Khaela's place. The apartment was lovely and spotless, and Melissa and Khaela were very communicative and arranged with neighbours for us to pick up the keys. The apartment is perfectly located for wanders around Brooklyn and into Manhattan, and near many subway stops, and it's under an hour to and from JFK airport. Totally recommended, and we'd go back in a heartbeat!
Khaela and Melissa are fantastic hosts and they ensured our comfort from the time we inquired about the apartment until we left and moved on to our next destinations. The flat was in the perfect location as we really got to experience living in a Brooklyn neighborhood, and we were close to so many trains, not at all far from Manhattan.
We really had a great stay, and by the time I left Brooklyn I felt like this was my metro stop, my neighborhood, and my apartment, and my home. The post man is really kind and helpful as well. If you stay here, be sure to visit The Fine Wine Shop, Bacchus, and La Flor del Paraiso on Atlantic, as well as Building on Bond on Bond St. Cobble Hill and Park Slope are within walking distance as well as lots of thrift shops on 5th Avenue.
I recommend this flat if you are looking for an affordable, comfortable home to stay in and a desire to experience both Brooklyn and Manhattan.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend and the place was amazing!! Very clean and just like the pictures! The neighbourhood was very nice and the hosts were fantastic! We would definitely recommend staying here!
We rented this apartment for my parents, who were visiting us in Brooklyn.
Melissa and Khaela were fantastic to deal with, both accommodating and responsive, plus just generally pleasant. The apartment itself was everything we could have asked for: convenient, clean, reasonably-sized, with a comfortable bed (so said my parents).
We would definitely consider their place for a future stay.
