We are on the top of Afton Mountain, looking across the Rockfish Valley, with Majestic 25 Mile Views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Discover & Explore Shenandoah National Park, The Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway & Skyline Drive, which are just a quarter mile from here.
Location, location, location! We are ideally situated between Waynesboro, Staunton and Charlottesville.
Squirrels, rabbits, groundhogs, possum and deer are all residents here too. We have a wide variety of birds. Doves, Finches, Cardinals and Woodpeckers are regular visitors. Birds of Prey such as Hawks and Owls fly majestically above us. Some evenings we see a dozen, or more deer on our front lawn.
“Quiet, Serene, Peaceful” are words that guests use to describe our setting here. Nature lovers enjoy the hundreds of forested acres around the property, including walking trails. But we are only three minutes to Exit 99, off I-64 and three minutes to Rt. 250.
We are only five minutes to Waynesboro, which is a short trip down the mountain. There are five grocery stores, many large box stores and small boutiques, and restaurants in every price range Staunton is about 20 minutes away, a small Virginia town, filled with history and charm. Crozet is fifteen minutes and Augusta Health is just 15 minutes away. UVA Hospital and the University of Virginia are an easy drive on I-64.
We are only ten minutes to Route 151, the brewery, distillery and winery trail! The brew trail also has great food and entertainment. Two of our favorites Hazy Mountain Winery & Veritas Winery are just minutes away.
We love dogs! Bring your dog! (Up to 55 lbs), w/current shots. We will also consider 2 small dogs, whose combo weight is 55 lbs. No dogs under 1 year, please. There is a fenced back yard, adjoining your unit. Dog guests must be non-dog or people aggressive and not excessive barkers. We also do dog sitting dog walking, dog check in for a nominal fee. We want your dog to be comfortable and happy too.
Eagles Nest Guest Quarters is a modern, (built in 2022), unique, luxury 2 bedroom unit on Afton Mountain.

**The space has 9’ ceilings and large windows in each room for a bright, airy, sunny feel. The king front bedroom has lovely views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Guest access
Key Pad with code allows easy access to the unit. A private back entrance accesses the Eagle's Nest Guest Quarters. The entire, self contained Eagle's Nest Guest Quarters is your own private space. Parking is just steps away from your front door.
We are only three minutes from Exit 99 on I-64. Waynesboro is just 5 minutes away with five grocery stores and all the amenities that a small town offers.
There is additional acreage that adjoins the property and this wooded lane is a great place for walking yourself, or your dog.
There are year round backyard views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, (especially Humpback Mountain)
and access to Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive, Blue Ridge Parkway is just a quarter mile away.
Other things to note
I fell in love with this area, while land hunting. The Blue Ridge Mountain views from this property were amazing, and It immediately felt like a super special spot, and I was so right! The location here is fantastic.
We sit up on a Mountain with expansive views, with few neighbors, surrounded by hundreds of forested acres, (owned by others). BUT we are only a 3 minute drive to I-64! Waynesboro is a five minute drive down the mountain.and has all the conveniences and amenities of a small town:) There are five grocery stores here, restaurants & many large box stores, and small personal boutique type stores.
Staunton and Charlottesville are both just minutes drives away on I-64. Augusta Health is around 15 minutes from us. UVA Hospital is an easy 25 minute drive on I-64. Monticello, the Fantastic 151 Brew Trail and so many other highlights, are within a short drive, as are Farmer's Markets and many fine restaurants.
Some places offer beautiful views or outstanding locations or a quiet peace, but this spot, has them all!
We have been hosts for a number of years, starting with our resort in Whitefish Montana, about twenty years ago. We slept up to 70 there, and did many Destination Weddings & Five Generation Family Reunions. After relocating to Virginia, our home place, we hosted in our Restored 1810 German styled log cabin.
We moved to the Afton area, five years ago and we have really enjoyed sharing our Blue Ridge Mountain Home with our guests. We mostly cater to travel health care professionals, and other longer term guests. We've done a lot of traveling thru the years both overseas and in the U.S. We love meeting new people and want your visit to be comfortable and memorable. Our goal is to provide just that, for you!
We enjoy spending time with our kids and grandkids. We love sitting on our sun porch watching the birds and seasons come and go. We both enjoy reading and gardening, & music of all types. We love sharing our lives with Lulu, our cavapoo. She will be really happy to see you!
