The Space

THE HOUSE

Two bedrooms only for single in an apartment of 80sqm. Each room has a French bed and the apartment has a bathroom whit shower, kitchen and a and a very Baroque style living room (where I sleep when I'm in Rome).
There is also an area with a coffee table in front of the kitchen, where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner. In this space in addition to the electric oven there is a microwave oven.

In the house there isn't s free Wi-fi, but there's a Mac computer always connected whit Internet by a free key in the dining room. And you can use whenever you want.
There is a washing machine and ironing board.
Every week there is a cleaning lady.

The apartament is located in the center of Rome, Testaccio neighborhood.
The neighborhood is one of the oldest in Rome full of nightclubs and restaurants at reasonable prices.
My house it's from early '900 and in the backyard there is the shop of the most famous patisserie in the neighborhood. If you get up at sunrise can get down and eat a fabulous and fresh croissant stuffed with cream or fresh whipped cream!
I live in the house and I am a smoker, but I smoke just in my room). You w'll have your set of key, can use kitchen and (of course) bathroom, weekly cleanin is included.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD  The Testaccio neighborhood is easily accessible by bus and underground and you can make a walk to Trastevere and Piazza Venezia in 15 minutes.
The neighborhood is inhabited only by the Roman people from many generations and the restaurants are famous for their local cuisine. The pizza's restaurants make a delicious pizza very cheap.
Testaccio is the center of the nightlife in Rome, there are a movie theater with three rooms and excellent programming, two theaters, Nightclubs and Pubs to dance, lissen live music and drink, all located in the nearby Monte Testaccio.
At Mattatoio there is a new Museum of Modern Art: MACRO. The Macro it's installed in a former slaughterhouse, and it's really interesting to see the "Pelanda" and the other rooms.

SHOPPING IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD  Clothes shops are very chic and refined, but there is also a famous market, which sells brand name shoes Euros 30/35 for pair.
On Sunday, crossing the bridge over the Tiber river, there is Porta Portese. The most famous and largest outdoor market in Rome, where you can find clothes, shoes, furniture, whatever you're looking for.

  • Martina was so friendly and helpful! She made my stay a pleasure, and so much easier, which I very much appreciated. A lovely large bedroom, in an attractive well-located apartment, this is a somewhere I would recommend highly. Grazie, Martina! Fiona

    Response from Martina:

Dear Fiona, how are you? Don't forget Rome. We keep in touch. A big hug. Martina

  • There was a slight mix up in dates, but Martina came out late at night to accommodate me! She also graciously offered supper. Very nice woman, very knowledgeable. Would definitely stay here again! She also lives in a very nice neighborhood, in front of a very good pizzeria.

    July 2013
  • I visited Rome for the first time back in July of this year, and it was also my first time to use airbnb. I had the great fortune to discover a vacancy at Martina's lovely apartment in Testaccio. Martina's place is only a 5 minute walk from the beautiful Protestant Cemetery where the poets, Keats and Shelly are buried. Clean, comfortable and affordable, her super-cozy apartment is a perfect location for getting to know Rome; and nobody knows Rome better than Martina. Martina Cozzi was an exquisite hostess and went out of her way to make sure I had a pleasant stay. She gave me the insider's scoop on numerous restaurants and bars in the city, accompanied me to the neighborhood's best restaurant for pasta (like I've never had before or since), and showed me one of the best garden- covered, evening vantage points of her neighborhood. I felt right at home at Martina's and, after a few days, I wished I had booked more time. Located in the old quarter, the apartment consists of a bathroom with shower, a kitchen with fridge and freezer, a middle (living) room, a back bedroom that sleeps one, and (very important) a powerful easy-to-use washing machine. Martina's neighborhood is a secret treasure; the park across the street was one of my favorite people watching places in all of Rome, and the cafe next door..so friendly and inviting that I became a regular there. When I return to Rome, I will most certainly go back to stay at Martina's apartment. Her warmth and hospitality in addition to her lovely place were the best part of my experience in that magical city.

    July 2013
  • It was a lovely stay in Rome. Martina brought me to eat the absolute best pasta in the world. She has maps and leaflets of what to see in Rome and how to get there with public transportation. Very thoughtful.

    July 2013
  • I had an amazing time in Rome with Martina she is a fantastic host who really looked after me. I would recommend anyone staying in Rome to stay here the place really makes you feel like your experiencing Rome and Martinas kindness is just wonderful! I will miss you Martina. Your Chelsea girl!
