Our attractive 2-bedroom apartment (non-smoking) is ideally situated in Zermatt’s quiet Steinmatte neighborhood, just 5 min. from the Kleinmatterhorn-Express cableways.
It is ideal for 4 persons, but also sleeps 6.

Lustrous white kitchen interior with beautiful granite countertops and easy-to-clean flooring. Everything is at your fingertips, letting you thoroughly enjoy a gorgeous and memorable skiing or hiking vacation in one of the world’s most unique vacation paradises.
Facilities and appliances:
Dishwasher, flat screen TV, cable TV, DVD player, radio, WLAN, bed linens and towels, hairdryer, toaster, fondue set, coffee machine (44 mm ESE pods and filter system), egg boiler, mixer, heated and lock-equipped ski storage, spacious balcony, one master bathroom and a separate WC.
Built in 1986, this well appointed apartment has an elevator and radiant heating. My husband and I acquired the property in 2006, and now enjoy it as a holiday retreat since moving to the Zurich area. Yet we are also happy to rent it to those who enjoy the vacation attractions in Zermatt.
Families highly appreciate this apartment since it is a short distance to the ski facilities, town center, and grocery store.
One bedroom has a queen-size bed and a large wardrobe. The other bedroom has two single beds, a smaller wardrobe, plus a loftbed (with outer guard rail).
The living room offerst two modern sofas (grey), and the dining room table can easily be extended.
There is a bus stop nearby, but Zermatt is so small that everything can be easily reached on foot. If you have bulky or heavy items to carry, there are always plenty of electro-taxis on hand.
Enjoy a uniquely international restaurant selection nearby – Swiss, French, Italian as well as Thai and Japanese – not to forget the ever-popular Papperla-Pub and the famous Elsie Bar.

Rental rates include heating, water, WLAN, bed linens and towels.
These rates exclude tourist tax (CHF 2.50 per person/night; CHF 1.25 for children).
Guests get two keys at their arrival. Please note that any lost key costs CHF 100, so please make sure you but them back where you found them.
Very attractive rental rates during mid and low seasons.
Interaction with Guests
I do not live in Zermatt but am always addressable via e-mail or SMS. And I always give the most possible support for any matter.
The Castania B apartment is within easy walking distance of key skiing facilities, the church on Zermatt’s famous Bahnhofstrasse, and numerous trekking paths for summer visitors.
Other Things to Note
Late check-out on prior agreement (only possible, if the apartment is not rented the same day)
The apartment is on the first floor, next to the elevator (Balcon Tognini).
Please put skis, boards and ski boots into locked ski room. No skis/ski boots allowed in stairway nor apartment.
Nothing should be thrown into the toilets or drains which could possibly cause an obstruction.
Please only use the orange garbage bags, they can be bought as single units in the grocery stores. Don't put garbage in any other bag than in the official orange garbage bags and do not dump them in the house. There are plenty of containers around the house (glass will be recycled). The fines for illegal garbage dumping are quite high.
After showering, the bath room needs to be aerated briefly and strongly.
Kitchen ware must be clean and stored.
In case you re-arrange any furniture, please put it back before you leave (the cleaning lady cannot move the heavy stuff).
The room temperature may be adjusted as follows: Open the metal-doored wall slot (between toilet and kitchen) with a coin by a quarter turn. Adjust the hot water valves of the soil heating for each room (turn to the left means more hot water). Repeat this process at the earliest after 24 hours if the desired temperature is not reached yet.

Appartement agréable , bien situé, néanmoins sombre et encaissé au milieu des immeubles voisins (premier étage); par ailleurs il faut savoir qu'il ne faut pas aller à Zermatt en mai et en octobre car ce sont les 2 périodes où tous les travaux de rénovation et d'urbanisme sont autorisés ( les camions ont le doit de circuler ) et la ville est très bruyante en particulier si les travaux sont situés à proximité ce qui fut notre cas .

Apartment was just as described and in a great location, easy walk to the lifts and very short walk to the shops and restaurants.

I was really happy with my stay at Julia's apartment. To start, Julia was super responsive and helpful with all questions related to my trip to Zermatt or her apt! I don't think I waited more than 30 minutes for any question I ever had for her! The apartment itself is very well located. We walked to the lifts, shops, and restaurants the entire time. We did opt to take an electric taxi from the train station but that was because we had a lot of luggage, though we could have also walked that distance, if we wanted to. Even though it's close to everything, the area is quiet so we were able to get a good's night rest. 6 of us stayed in the apartment, and while it was tight, it was very manageable and it didn't bother us at all. 6 people can definitely fit if you are a laidback group of friends/family. We were actually pleasantly surprised that the bunk bed was quite comfortable and big. Lastly, the apartment was super clean, which is always a plus!
Nice and well furnished appartment situated very well for Skiers in 3min walking distance to the ski lifts going to Kl. Matterhorn ass well as to the centre of Zermatt.
Contact with the host was impecable and finding the appartment and keys was no problem either.
Julia was an excellent host and very responsive to any inquiries. The apartment was immaculate and conveniently located to the mountain lifts, train, restaurants, bars etc. Thanks for a great stay.
Tack Julia för en suverän vistelse i Zermatt. Allt fungerade smidigt vid kontakt och lägenheten var toppen. Rymlig, ren och smart planerad. Läget var jättebra, otroligt vacker vy från gatan och nära till allt. Vi är mycket nöjda med hela upplevelsen.
