Ashland is a southern Oregon town of 22,000, nestled between 2 mountain ranges with a diversity of seasons and weather changes ( 5 minute rule).
The 4 block downtown is filled with fun shops, art galleries, coffee houses, fabulous dining and the friendliest people you will ever meet. It is casual and enticing! Walk through Lithia Park, attend the famous Oregon Shakespeare Festival or one of the seasonal festivals, browse the Farmers Markets 2 days a week, go river rafting, hike the many trails, ski, snowboard and ice skate in winter. We are close to Jacksonville and the Britt outdoor Theater, 2 hours from Crater Lake or the coast. Enjoy Art Walk Friday the first Friday of every month and attend some of the many small theater and music events.
We would love to host you in our sanctuary.

Vrnda is a great host! I stayed in here wonderful ground floor private studio and it served as a perfect home during my classes at United Bicycle Institute (UBI). The studio is just outside the central shopping/entertainment district and is a little over a mile from UBI. I was able to commute and explore Ashland on foot during my stay. The studio is exactly as pictured and the desk came in handy for me to study. If I ever return to Ashland, I will try to stay at Vrnda’s.
Vrnda's place is quiet, spacious and very private, even the little sitting area outside. She's a very thoughtful and gracious hostess, as well as a wonderful yoga teacher. I enjoyed my time there very much.
I was sorry to hear that the city of Ashland is about to shut down airbnb services in private homes. It will be a shame to lose a lodging option like this.
Vrnda is a very welcoming, kind and non-intrusive host - the room has a very comfortable bed, nice sized bathroom and for the wired type the wi-fi works great. Location on the hill is good, bit of a hike all the way to downtown but it's doable..just be prepared for a bit of uphill jaunt on the way 'home'. Overall a very nice accomodation at a very friendly nightly rate. Only downsides: cellphone service is kind of weak (even on Verizon) and no TV - which is not really a downside as there is so much to do out and about in Ashland. 2 thumbs up :)
Vrnda was lovely. She was very conversational, which I enjoyed. She recommended local eats and places to go. Her dog was adorable and very friendly. There was also a cat who came and said hello.
The studio was huge! It was well stocked with everything I needed. The bathroom was a good size as well. I think it even had heat lamps above the sink. There were plenty of blankets and the bed was very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.
While our visit to Ashland was to visit family, we want to encourage ALL visitors to the area, particularly those committed to or even just mildly interested in yoga, to seek out Vrnda's place. The location is ideal, in a lovely part of town just uphill from the college campus and an easy walk from the center of town. The private access and generous size of the accommodations makes this lodging particularly desirable, and Vrnda herself is a delight.
One word of caution: Vrnda does a great job of explaining how to find the footpath that leads to the private access apartment, but SOME guests (us, I'm afraid) don't listen as carefully as we ought to. Just follow her directions -- it's a simple, convenient and easy walk.
This was a cozy space with our own entrance. We had a pad for an extra person and the three of us were very happy. Coffee and tea, too!
Vrnda greeted me and my Sister with warmth and was helpful in recommending a restaurant for dinner. The studio was comfortable and located within walking distance to downtown or SOU. The walk back is a little steep at the end so make sure you have the appropriate shoes on. We enjoyed our visit. If you want somewhere to stay that has a private entrance then I'd recommend Vrnda's studio.
