It was troubling to experience a rather aggressive phone call during the second night of stay at this property. There were 6 of us living in the property over this 3-day period. on the second night there was a fire alarm that would not go off. At the time I was not on the proper…
Response from Joe:
All I can do is give the perspective of the guests in the other apartment. Here is their perspective: I wanted to follow up on our stay at the Roscoe Village Guest house N Hoyne Unit #1. We were enjoying our stay and loving the place up until Friday night (28th) 9pm. The occupants of Unit # 2 had a LOUD party from 9pm until approximately 3:30am or later as far as I know. They were laughing, moving furniture around and what sounded like bodies slamming or wrestling around the floor. We of course could not sleep and were in the living room area where I could see the door of Unit #2 . I personally counted 10-14 people go in the door...all had the 'code'. I estimate there were more because all night we could her people going up and down the stairs. My son asked them if they could keep it down a little because we were trying to sleep. ...but of course that did not happen. We then saw a 'stack' of pizzas delivered.(10 + high at least). I was up at 7a only to see two more individuals arrive with back packs at their front door. It was particularly madding to us as we were there in Chicago for the time to get ready for an important event for our daughter who lives in Chicago. The event was (Website hidden by Airbnb) instead of being well rested and able to prepare we were exhausted and irritated. So...imagine by Saturday night how tired we were and all we wanted to do is 'sleep'....but the Unit 2 at approximately 11p had an 'alarm' with 'light ' going off...weather it was the fire or carbon/gas alarm we did not know. Three men were going out the front door and I asked them what alarm was going off up there...Should we call the fire department or get out?... They said they didn't know the alarm and couldn't figure it out . They said they 'called someone".... So the rest you probably know.. I called the front desk # and the Emergency # left messages but did not get through. 'Joe' must of tried to return my call but when I called back his voice mail was full and I was unable to leave message. My son finally got through and spoke to someone . Eventually someone came out to shut the alarm off. ..approximately 1-130am. Which we appreciated. Needless to say frustrating....... I am going to ask you to take the two night -28th and 29th -charges off our bill and charge to the people in Unit #2. I think that is a fair request. We liked our place so much we were think of booking for a few days over the Christmas Holiday. But now we are not sure at all.
Joe's place was fantastic, especially if you want to stay next to Wrigley Field. It's a bit far from downtown, but the bus service is very efficient and there are tons of Lyft and Uber drivers throughout the city. Joe answered the phone every time we called with a question and ha…
