If the price you are seeing for the villa for seems too good to be true it is because I will basically give it away on slow or last minute nights just to have it occupied. My fixed costs are the same so it is better for me to make a little bit of money than nothing:-)
During peak season the villa rents for $295 per night, so you can figure out the deal you are getting.
Really the best in Manuel Antonio. The villa is located in the most exclusive, private, residential area in Manuel Antonio. Plus the villa has lots of surrounding property, so you can't see the neighbors! Some of the best restaurants and hotels are located less than a 5 minute walk away. The beach is a 10-15 minute walk. The town of Quepos is 3 miles to the north, and is home to a beautiful new marina.
Partial ocean views as the rainforest comes right up to the floor to ceiling windows. If you don't see monkeys or sloths you probably aren't looking.
The 2,000 square foot, 3 bedroom home is divided into two floors. The materials used are glass, granite, custom ceramic tiles, stucco, stainless steel, and aluminum.
The entry level features a great room with floor to ceiling windows with spectacular views of the treetop canopy, and partial views of the Pacific Ocean and Manuel Antonio national park. There is a TV, iPod dock, 2 sofas, 6 seat dining area, half bath, a gourmet kitchen with granite, stainless steel , custom cabinets, refrigerator, espresso maker, a restaurant quality oven and 6 burner stove.
Outside there is a large yoga deck that is shared with Spa Uno. Yoga mats are complementary and private classes can be arranged.
The entrance level houses the master suite with king size bed, walk in closet, and en-suite bathroom with shower. The lower level has two bedrooms with queen size beds, one has a covered deck, and they share a bathroom with shower.
Wildlife and Fauna
The wildlife here is abundant. Monkeys are almost daily visitors, and you can count on seeing at least one of the three local species, be it the Titi's, Howlers, or White Faced. Small mammals such as sloth and kinkajoo's, multitudes of butterflies, and exotic birds to thrill an ornithologist are all included at no charge!
The reception staff at Spa Uno will be you concierge during your stay. Not only can they arrange tours, transportation, and in-house spa services, but they are also very knowledgeable of the Manuel Antonio area and can answer any questions you may have. They are onsite everyday from 8a.m. to 8p.m. and will help you with anything you need, from getting a taxi to ordering groceries, they have you covered.
The villa also has two housekeepers who care for the home 6 days a week and will see to all of your cleaning needs, including personal laundry.
My experience in this location was ok. First, Maykol the property manager told us that we had to check-in before the time that was posted on the instructions I got in an email from the owner. He insisted that we had to check-in before 5pm when the instructions I had received in the email allowed check-in until 8pm. During our stay at the villa, he never called or emailed to check in on us. He also pitched his massage services to us when we arrived, which he never followed up on. I have been trained in providing the best customer service, and I did not feel like I got the best customer service I could from Maykol.
The actual villa was comfortable and well-equipped. We had AC in all of the rooms, but the appliances such as the fridge and oven were very run down. The couches had tears in them and the TV was very outdated. There were no recycling bins available for me to live up to the eco-tourist motto that is so prevalent in Costa Rica. The wi-fi was very slow. There are only sheets on the bed, no blanket or comforter, which has small tears and stains on them.
I did appreciate the fact that the villa had a washer and dryer and detergent and softener available. Also, the rooms were very big and there was enough space to spread out our things. The construction of the villa was interesting. You have to go down two flights of stairs to get into the first floor of the villa (which has the master bedroom) and then another flight of stairs that lead down to the two other bedrooms. We had two suitcases each in my party, so it was kind of a hassle to have to carry them up and down so many stairs (Maykol offers limited help with carrying your suitcases).
I think the best part of this place was the location. If you get up early enough you can see white-faced monkeys frolicking around in the surrounding trees. You can also hear howler monkeys at around 5am.
Our time and experience at this villa was It was ok, but I would definitely look into a different space the next time I am in Costa Rica.
Great Experience! Apartment location was perfect, check in and out was easy, apartment staff was super helpful and friendly. Overall a great stay.
Major problems with air-conditioners daily! The caretaker is very good and responsive. The owner did not even call to see how we are doing inspite of reporting multiple problems! We were forced into reserving for 5 days even though we wanted the apartment for 3 days. We did leave after 3 days (we got tired of daily issues here). Was not a good experience. It is close to several good restaurants and bars though.
It is true I make it a rule to have my house manager deal directly with any guest problems in order to have the problems fixed as quickly as possible.
As soon as I received the message that there was a problem with the air-conditioning unit I informed the house manager and he had a technician at the house within the hour.
Unfortunately the second air conditioner decided to also have problems on Vinny's second day in the house. And again we had a technician there quickly and it was repaired that same day.
Problems can and do arise from time to time but we are always responsive and attempt to fix the issue as quickly as possible.
We loved the villa! We stayed for a week and enjoyed every minute! It's beautiful and clean, the location is awesome!! I would def recommend it!
My friends and I were truly amazed at how nice the place was for the money we paid. It was 6 of us staying at this villa, which is really spacious and roomy. We had some minor issues with the fridge but Adam and Maykol were extremely kind when solving this. Very close to the National Park, to a supermarket, nice restaurants. This is just a very good option for a long stay at Manuel Antonio.
Adams house in Manuel Antonio is great! very comfortable for 6 grown-ups! The house is very spacious with a great view to the forest, we saw al kinds of animals including a sloth on a tree just outside the bedroom! The house has a very centric location and even though you are on the middle on Manuel Antonio you don't feel like it because you only have nature around you is great! The only thing I wouldn't recommend is to rent the house if you are going with older people because it has a lot of stairs and for some this is a big problem! But other than that great!!
Our stay in Manuel Antonio was Perfect! This house is the perfect setting for your Adventure Vacation in this area. My guests and myself felt safe. The house was located with the sitting area / covered porch in total nature. We saw monkeys and birds. On two of our days we woke to the sight of Two Sloth's just 10 feet away from us sitting in the trees. We couldn't have asked for a better location. Even though there were several TVs in the house we watched live nature outside:-) The house was extremely comfortable and the "House Manager" was ALWAYS Available to assist. The many A/C units all worked Great and appliances worked also. Several outlets to recharge computers and camera batteries. This place is a RARE find in Costa Rica!
This house is great. Even though it is in the town of Manuel Antonio and you wouldnt expect it driving up to the house, its actually right up on the edge of the jungle. We saw plenty of monkeys during our stay and even had the amazing priveledge of seeing a sloth come right up to the house everyday. We had some problems with the house itself, such as a leakage and dripping AC, as well as construction activity that kept some of us awake at night, but these were out of the control of the owner and didnt ruin our stay the least bit. We found the nearby Manuel Antonio National Park to be really crowded and we only got to see sloths from a far, but we had our own little national park at home!
Really loved the villa! Stayed here with my girlfriend and two buddies. Mykol the property manger was very accommodating and helped us set up white water rafting which was amazing. He even gave us the rundown on all the good restaurants and which touristy ones to stay away from. We were on a budget so it was nice to have someone who was from the area help us out. I would definitely recommend this place. It's an easy walk to the local bus which takes you down to the beach within 3-5 min replay quick and cheap. Thank you for the great stay!
This is the place to stay ... window view into the rainforest. At night when it does rain the birds take a safe place under the overhangs and you have night time bird watching primo birds from Mot mots to Toucans. Our male sloth visited us for 8 days and to me this was the best because my kids named him and would get up early to watch him. The place is beautiful and has all the things you think you need and then you realize that it is not about the extras but about the view. It is cleaned by Shirley and she is Wonderful and Maykol takes care of all your needs.
I will come back next year again... Well done Adam..
