"Sittin' in your wonderful barn,
or listening to you spin a yarn,
It was fate that we found your happy place:)
To 'checkout' momentarily from the rat race.
We were so grateful to stay & rest our bones,
We will be back for fall foliage &
more of those divine scones!"
The guest have access to the "Great Room" and limited kitchen privileges with refrigerator and pantry space. They can walk the trail in the field and the woods, use the barbeque, the patio area and lawn.
Interaction with Guests
I do host my guests as much or as little as they want. Most guests have there trips laid out but if not I can give suggestions on where a good fishing hole is or a beautiful hike or a great restaurant. Most often I have some morning interaction at breakfast as guests plan their day.
The Zen farmhouse is located in the heart of the Catskills - the home of Woodstock. There are many historic villages that date back to the early 1800's that have hardly changed. This is not your typical developed resort, this is an adventure with beautiful land, lakes, streams and sweet people that have been here for generations.
The Shortline bus is two block from the farm and there are cabs available, but to really enjoy the area a car is almost a necessity.

The Zen Farmhouse was the perfect weekend getaway! Diana was a gracious and helpful host. She greeted me and my boyfriend when we arrived. Over a cup of tea we went over some local activities, and then Diana went about her own plans, allowing us to enjoy the soothing atmosphere of her inviting home. The house is in a very quiet and secluded area. Perfect for sleeping in during the day and looking at the stars at night. Great hikes, beautiful drives and local restaurants are a short drive away. The bedroom we stayed in was clean, the bed was extremely comfortable and there was a peaceful and relaxing energy. I definitely recommend a stay here and I look forward to my next Zen Farmhouse experience!
My boyfriend and I were looking for a relaxing, quiet weekend away when we stumbled across Diane's Zen Farmhouse. It was our first experience with Airbnb and must admit were a bit skeptical, but we took a chance anyway. Well we were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Diane's beautiful B&B. From the minute I opened the door I felt warmly welcomed and an immediate sense of calmness. Diane is amazingly serene, and her home surrounds you with happiness. The rooms were beautifully decorated and immaculate (I'm a stickler for cleanliness) and our bedroom was bright and cheery. We stayed for the weekend and on Saturday I woke up to the most beautiful sunrise coming in two large windows that looked out onto a beautiful field. That night we went to sleep listening to the sound of coyotes howling at the moon. It was more than we could have hoped for.
Diane was a most gracious host sharing secret lake spots, local hidden restaurant treasures and stories about her old converted barn. She is a wonderful hostess and made the weekend even more special by being a part of it. We will be back soon for that barn tour!
Diana was an incredibly gracious host - the breakfast was delicious and the conversation was fascinating. The Zen Farmhouse truly was a taste of heaven - green, lush, quiet and infused with a sense of calm and positive energy. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone passing through or vacationing in the area.
Diana's calming presence and relaxing home provided us with everything we needed for a restful weekend getaway. She is a warm host, a fine baker of scones, and full of generous spirit. It was so wonderful to cook in her lovely, open kitchen. We would love to return.
The farmhouse is converted beautifully and the room is bright, clean and cosy. It felt like a perfect home! We really enjoyed the property. Diane went out of her way to guide us to the best of the local area and make us feel at home.Thank you so much Diane!
Warning: only guestroom no. 2 has a private bathroom. Staying at this farmhouse was a huge mistake.
The price for which I paid included a queen-size and a private
bathroom, but this room had a smaller bed and we had to share the bathroom
with guests in room 1. Diana was not there - the host was a herself a guest
(Kamar, nothing against you, you are lovely) - there is zero phone
reception (in case you want Airbnb to mediate anything within 24 hours) and
the wi-fi connection is not very reliable. When I politely inquired Diana
about the situation, she became quite defensive and just not nice. Not only
did she not bother to answer my phone call, but she avoided my direct
questions and just kept justifying herself by how nicely decorated our room
was. I think it's pretty fair and logical to question a transaction when
you get something that is clearly not commensurate with what you've paid,
but the response was very disappointing.
Like I said in my review "a big disappointment" . . . unfortunately a very angry person and that colors her world!
I have only had positive experiences with my Airbnb guests, in this case I didn't follow my better judgement when I noticed this guest had nothing in her Bio, no photo, no history, no reviews - big mistake!
Beware hosts - "troubled" is her middle name!

A great place to stay! I loved staying in a converted barn, with the heavy wood beams and the old time feel. The hosts were very friendly and made sure all my needs were met. There was always hot cider heating on the wood stove and the place was more than cozy. The bed was unbelievably comfortable. Great nights sleep. Would like to stay in the summer as well and explore the area. Thank you so much!!!
