A charming detached cottage ( one room plus bath) in a wonderful BIG garden. A few minutes walk takes you to the eclectic town of Fairfax for great shopping, restaurants and live music entertainment.

Everything was great from easy to follow instructions for access, a comfortable bed and good shower, lovely garden, great neighborhood.
Beautiful area. Quiet, with birds and beautiful flowering plants. Great area for walking. Magnificent trees. Cottage warms easily, with all the amenities. Arrival and departure with ease.
Very cute and quiet little cottage in the back of the property. We really enjoyed our stay!
The cottage was very comfortable and cozy for our one-night stay -- we had everything we needed.
Joan said 'hi' at one point and made herself available as needed which worked perfectly for us. The guest house was clean and very quiet. It was great to have off-street parking. The pic makes the main room look more spacious than it is and an odd thing you can't tell from the pics is that the toilet and shower are in the same room as a kitchen sink and fridge. Would've liked to have known that in advance; a little unpalatable. The bed was also a bit hard for us. We put one of the comforters under us and that helped.
The sink is over sized in the bathroom so that guests can wash swim suits etc. and put them on the clothes line in the garden in good weather. The fridge is across from the shower, which is at the other end of the bathroom, not near the toilet. The coffee machine is in the main room. These are all amenities and are not intended to be for full scale food prep or a kitchen.
Many of my guests ask me what kind of bed is in the guest house because they want one
My husband and I stayed at Joan's sweet little cottage for three nights and it was such a retreat. The cottage is nestled behind her home next to beautiful woods and her gardens. It's extremely clean, organized and nicely decorated. We got to meet Joan upon arrival and she was so warm and welcoming--loved getting to talk to her for a moment. I would highly recommend staying here if you need a weekend away or you're doing some traveling nearby. We enjoyed walking to breakfast in Fairfax and had a couple other meals in town--LOVE Fairfax. So cute. We did a hike near the cottage. There are tons of trails nearby. And then we spent time in Sonoma and Napa (about an hour drive from the cottage) a couple of days. This place was perfect for our vacation in California.
I have had the privilege of traveling extensively and love accommodating guests that enjoy traveling to this special place.
I am a certified organic grower of lavender and herbs and supply shops, restaurants and specialty shops .
I am an artist and design gardens and paint furniture, dioramas and canvases with sculptural influence.
I have lived here for many years and feel very fortunate to live where I live, work with passion and legalize kindness.
I have return guests many times a year, and think of them as gifts.
