Emma, Francesco : grazie mille ancora, e come l'ho detto, ritorneremo. Mary

  • Mrs Emma, her nice husband and son, Francesco, is a very pleasant family. Their villa is a marvelous place to stay in - this is our first experience of renting a room in a big house and we recommend it for sure to everyone. In a real life the villa is much more amazing than in the published pictures. Also, the location is good to travel to different points: Napoli, Ercolano and Sorrento. We'd like to thank our great hosts!

  • Villa Gennariello is a wonderfully charming former hunting lodge which offers great service, great accommodation and a convenient car pick-up service upon arrival as well as a departure service. On arrival, I discovered Napoli for a few hours and hopped on the Circumvesuviana train to Portici-v.liberta that is a convenient 10 min walk to the villa. I arranged an early morning drop-off at Napoli Stazione with Francesco to catch the train to Roma. I felt welcomed starting from Emma's warm greeting upon arrival which extended throughout my entire stay until Francesco's departing goodbye. The home made breakfasts are the best in Napoli and I used Francesco's great map and directions of the area which led me through a fresh food and clothing market that starts in the open area in front of the Basilica and winds its way down streets leading towards the sea and the Herculaneum site. I also followed their great recommendations for restaurants for dinner. Thank you Emma and your entire family for a wonderful stay. I would gladly book again.

  • Emma and Francisco are excellent hosts who are very helpful. They were happy to share their magnificent home with guests. The house is actually an ancient palace full of fascinating historical things with a beautiful large garden and amazing views from the rooftop. There is good WiFi connection in the shared lounge room. It was a very convenient location for exploring Erculano and Pompeii and only a short train trip to Naples.Don't miss a chance to stay with these lovely people in their wonderful home.

  • We had a fantastic stay in Villa San Gennariello! From the moment we arrived in Portici we felt very welcome, with Emma's son Francesco picking us up from the station and talking us through the area. Prior to visiting we were unsure how convenient it would be staying in this area, but it turned out to be a great choice. We found it very easy to get to Naples and sites such as Pompeii using the Circumvesuviana metro. We also found it very easy to get to our next stop on the Amalfi coast from here. The area isn't very touristy, but we found this refreshing.

The villa itself is beautiful and set in fantastic gardens. Our room in particular was bright and airy and we found no need for air conditioning. The bed was perfectly comfortable too. We found Emma and her family to be lovely hosts, with nothing ever being a problem. The breakfasts were a highlight of our stay with a wide selection of delicious food and drink available.

We would not hesitate to recommend Villa San Gennariello to others. We can't wait to go back ourselves!

  • Beautiful stay at charming villa. Very kind hosts. It was nice to have breakfast in the quiet courtyard. Ideal spot for visiting Ercolaneo(walking) or Pompei (short trip by train). Recommended.

  • Our stay at Villa San Gennariello could not have been better! The house is absolutely gorgeous and filled with so much history. French doors opened from our bedroom onto the large Patio where we had breakfast each morning. Beyond the patio is a lovely garden where I spent one afternoon reading in the picturesque setting. The convenience of the villa is also something worth noting. We were just a 2 minute walk from the Ercolano market, 10 minute walk from the Herculean archeological site--which many say trumps Pompeii--and just a 5 minute walk from the bus that takes you to the top of Mount Vesuvius. Emma and her family made us feel right at home in Itlay and truly made our trip a special experience.
