Guest access
The Rusty Goat Guest House is a private, single-family-style cottage constructed on the NW corner of the Brook House property. A driveway winds from 9th St, giving guests direct access to the guest house and its adjacent parking space, and then bends its way around to empty onto College St. The owners reside in the main house, and offer for rent the entire guest house to only one guest (along with their guest) at a time.
The swim spa, which is an optional add-on ($40/stay), sits on a pad directly in front of the guest house. Retracting canopies shade the entire swim spa complex. For stargazing guests who opt-in for the swim spa, the canopies can be opened for a full view of the dark hill country night sky. Beach towels and flotation toys are included. Guests frequently witness satellites buzzing by, falling stars, and even SpaceEx's Starlink Satellite 'train'!
Other things to note
If you plan to travel with your pet, here are a few things we think you'll want consider before you book. We love dogs, and have provided a plush dog bed for them to use. We do not allow pets on the furniture. If you'll be leaving your pet at the guest house while you're out enjoying the town, bring a crate. Otherwise, we ask that your pet go with you.
We allow our chickens to forage in the yard at the end of the day, so you'll need to be watchful and keep your dog leashed. That part of the property is not fenced. We provide a waste bin and bags station so that you can collect your dog's poop. It sits on the front porch, so it's right there for you.

From the host
The Rusty Goat Guest House (built 2005) sits on the corner of the historic Brook House (built 1909) property. The Brook House is one of several stately homes, of varying style, built in the early 1900's. The neighborhood is a contrast of neighborly and keep-it-to-myself, immaculate and junky - as you drive through you'll see everything in between. Neighbors know one another and feel safe here with little to no crime.
Common critters in and around our neighborhood include cats, cardinal pairs, kite hawks, cats, deer, squirrels, the occasional raccoon, and a few more cats. Our 12 chickens round-out the variety of animal life!
Pecan trees, colorful crepe myrtle, ligustrum, mesquite and oaks line our streets, as do roses, geranium and prickly pear cactus. We have almost all of these growing on our property, so there's plenty of texture, color and shade here.
The town square is 9 blocks north, and the main drag, Bridge St, is just 3 blocks east. Brady has weathered its share of ups and downs, as evidenced everywhere you look. We hope that you'll make the time to visit some of the clothing shops, antique dealers, restaurants, museum, parks, golf course and more. You can get from one end of Brady to the other in less than 10 minutes!

Fun facts rarely disappoint. Here are just two worth sharing - planet Earth spins a full rotation once every 23 hours 56 minutes and 4 seconds, and Americans eat 30 million slices of pizza every day. Boom!
