We have 3 double and one twin room available in family home. Two adults live here now, as children have grown up, so we have many spare rooms. £30 price is for first person, subsequent people are £20 each.
If a large group books, you also have the use of your own living room with cable TV & open fire. Very convenient for transport from Cardiff city centre, 10 minute bus ride or a lovely walk through two parks. 3 parks nearby, & free WiFi. Easy parking too, and helpful hosts. Breakfast is a help yourself affair - there is an area on the landing with kettle, toaster, fridge and microwave where you can make your own drinks, and heat meals. Bread, tea, coffee, butter, preserves, cereals & milk provided. All 3 double rooms have digital TV's too, twin room does not. One room has a medium size sofa bed that can sleep 2 cosily, and another room has two sofa beds so whole set of rooms can sleep 10 easily, (8 in separate beds (6 double) or 12/14 at a pinch. We have a small dog and cat.
We have hosted large groups for rugby matches before.
Own shower room/WC, and main bathroom too if large group.
Chapter Arts Centre is a 10 minute walk away - great cinema & bar /restaurant area. Lovely pubs in nearby Llandaf, 10 minute walk. Many good places to eat within walking distance.
Carys and all her family are very nice and helpful!
Thanks to them all we had an excellent stay in Cardiff, in spite of a bad defeat of the French team in the Millennium Stadium!
They helped us and advised to us magnificent walks in the region.
We were received as Kings and deeply recommend a passage at their home!
Thank you Carys, Owen and Siwan!
Carys made us feel very welcome, the house was lovely and there was a great DIY breakfast available. Was perfect for us and I would thoroughly recommend!
Carys was really accommodating and had a lovely house with a great selection for breakfast in the morning. Great value
This is the second time my son has stayed here. Carys is a generous and extremely helpful host, facilities were great!
Thank you again!
Second time in Cardiff and first time at Carys House. What an extraordinary experience this time! I warmly invite everybody to stop there: I've felt the warmth of the family, an extreme privacy, extra huge breakfast (yummy) and a very clean house. Worth the money!
We came here for the rugby match Wales-Italy of the Rbs 6 Nations 2014 and we highly raccomand this solution. We've found very good places for a beer, of course a Brains, or to eat something, in a walking distance and the first day in half a hour we got to the center of Cardiff. There are also a lot of buses that can bring you to the center and the last night we took a taxi from Central Station and the price for the race was 8 pounds.
Special thanx to Carys who really took care of us like a mother.
Carys was a very welcoming host. I only contacted her the evening before we stayed but she replied to my queries immediately. We stayed in the attic bedrooms-both of which were very comfortable and there was well stocked kitchen area for snacks and breakfast on the landing. Nothing was too much trouble for Carys and she made us feel very welcome, I would definitely recommend staying here.
Carys has a wonderful house in a very nice part of Cardiff. The room I stayed in was on the top floor so very quiet which was ideal as I had to spend a day working. Carys was the perfect host: I had to organise my stay at short notice but she got back to me immediately and she had prepared all kinds of wonderful snacks and cereals for me to enjoy for breakfast. Thoroughly recommend staying with Carys if you're ever in Cardiff (and she has books everywhere which is always a good sign!)
Nice large room, comfy bed, and a great range of breakfast foods right outside the bedroom door. I had the top floor to myself and found it quiet and Carys friendly and helpful.
A great place to stay for visiting S Wales. Confortable rooms and a wholesome breakfast.
Carys was a great host and nothing was too much trouble.
Nice place !
