Beautiful & cozy home tucked away in the southeast corner of the Salt Lake valley. Our spectacular views of the Wasatch Mountain range are breathtaking. Easy access to Trax Light Rail system which will take you just about anywhere in the valley.
Beautiful private home on quiet Cul-de-Sac in a very close-knit friendly neighborhood nestled in the southeast corner of the Salt Lake Valley - Sandy, UT.
We have a wonderful 2500 sq.ft. multi-level home. The 4 levels include a formal style living room, a full kitchen/dining area, a large family room with a real wood burning stove/fireplace for the winter months, and during the warm months, our outdoor livingroom style patio offers comfortable seating for reading and just enjoying the fantastic views. The yard is completely fenced in and with mature trees and shrubs, is quite private, there's even a trampoline for your use, if you are so inclined.
The room is completely separate from the rest of the house, and very private! In the room there is a mini-fridge and microwave for your personal use, and you'll also have access to all the amenities in our well stocked kitchen too. The full private bathroom is just steps away, and an adjacent spacious clean laundry room is there for your use upon request.
We can accommodate up to 2 adults in the private lower level room, which you can see from the photos has a futon bed, which by-the-way is a top of the line Ikea futon with a mattress so comfortable I wish it were my bed! We also have another room which can be used by your children and has a daybed w/trundle, and when put together make a king size bed.
Additional areas are also available - comfy futon in our large home office, and we have 2 full-sized aerobed's too. These additional spaces/rooms would be available upon request.
There is cable TV, WiFi, a Wii, and a multi-function keyboard/piano (which we won on the game show "The Price Is Right"!), and 2 spots for off-street parking and plenty of on-street parking.
You'll be amazed by the views and happy for the short distances to many ski resorts, like Park City, Snowbird, Alta, and Brighton, and so much more. Less than 5 minutes to Malls, Shopping, Dining, and light rail system called 'Trax". Hiking, biking, mountain/rock climbing, motorcycling, lakes, camping, fishing water parks...the list goes on and on! Check it out on your favorite search engine for whatever you're up for! Don't forget the beautiful Temple Square and newly finished City Creek Shopping Destination.
The beautiful Salt Lake valley has an extensive light rail system called 'Trax' and a Sandy City Trax station is a convenient 5 minute drive/bus ride away. Along the route you can exit to visit many of our beautiful cities along the way. But its destination of downtown Salt Lake City will be an exciting experience - World class Theatre's, Ballet, Restaurants, Shopping, LDS Church Temple Square, and the newest architectural shopping, dining marvel known as 'City Creek'. You might want to check out Foodnetwork show "Diners, Drive-Ins, n' Dives" hosted by Guy Fieri to check out the numerous places he has visited here. Two new "Trax" stations are nearly completed and are even closer than the one mentioned above. There is a high-speed train called 'Front Runner' which goes to Ogden, UT. Two UTA bus stops within a 2-3 minute walk on very level sidewalks.
Our home is located 1.5 miles from the I-15 interstate freeway with an on/off ramp for all directions. This is the main freeway going north and south through the entire state. It links up with our 'belt' route which will take you to the airport in a snap, or to the ski resorts in 20-25 minutes.
We will be glad to offer suggestions, directions, brochures, etc., on the wide variety of places to go and things to do around the Wasatch front. We have lived in the Salt Lake Valley since 1993 and are VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE of the many, many
fun venues and the possibilities are only limited by your imagination!
We are very kid and pet friendly! Pets are welcome on a pre-approval basis - we have one very rare Albino Siamese cat named Mowie (very well trained!) (email hidden)orkie (Shih Tzu - Yorkshire Terrier) named Brutus - yeah pretty funny right?. Our dog does not shed and is considered hypoallergenic, and our cat is a short-haired variety and also considered to be hypoallergenic.
Kitchen area for eating your meals if you'd like. (Fridge/stove/oven upon request for your own use) and we often invite you to join us for meals. Guests are free to help themselves anytime to the Baker's rack pre-stocked with various breakfast items, various treats, electric water kettle for herb tea's, hot chocolate, etc.
We interact with our guests only if they wish to. We respect your privacy and will help you with any questions or needs you may have. We love to chat but also know when to be quiet!
Quiet, safe, close-knit cul-de-saq. We know all of our neighbors and we love this area of Sandy/Draper. It is a beautiful place to live.
Public transportation is VERY easily accessed. There are three or four Trax (light rail) stations within a mile radius of our home, and many bus stops nearby. We know the Salt Lake Valley very well and are always happy to help you find your destination or offer suggestions.

I really enjoyed the stay with wonderful hosts and funny pets at professionally and beautifully decorated home in a quiet neighborhood. It was a kind of living I dreamed of when I was a kid. During the stay, I had to get a drivers license, purchase a car and find a place to live, and that made me leave early in the morning and return home late at night. I wish I could stay longer and spend more time!
Like everyone else mentions, friendly, clean and exceptionally nice to stay. I had a brief and busy visit to SLC/Sandy area for business and wanted a quiet place. Got it. What I have to add on top of everyone else's comments is I loved that the power strip between desk and bed had 2 usb plugs; very cool for my devices to simply charge with just my cable. It's a little thing but it's the little things that matter sometimes. Highly recommend. House is close to TRAX, 89/State and I-15. Easy to get around.
Carrie is a complete sweet heart.
She opened her home up to me in such a professional and kind way. The room is very private, comfortable, and well equipped.
I love the refrigerator, microwave, desk, mirrors, extra blankets, and luggage rack. She really thought of everything.
Plan on staying their again in the future. This is a gem.
we had a great stay at Carries house, everything was very clean and extremy comfy, Carrie was a wonderful host and we would defenitly recommend this place
Carrie and her family are warm and amiable hosts accommodating beyond expectations. We enjoyed visiting with them and their ridiculously cute pets - I'm pretty sure Brutus is an alien. The room was clean, comfortable, and a great value. We especially appreciated Carrie's knowledge and recommendations for exploring the high country which led us to a fantastic day hike to Silver Lake in the Uinta Mountains - sure to be a cherished memory.
Carrie was an incredibly gracious hostess, the room and bathroom were both comfortable and well-appointed, and the house and neighborhood are both lovely. I was invited to join in meals and yet was given plenty of privacy. I would recommend this rental to anyone who enjoys vibrant conversation and a warm, cozy, and comfortable place to sleep!
My first AirBnB experience and it was Excellent! Carrie was great, the house was very clean, the towels were soft, and I was provided with privacy during my entire stay. The cats and dog were very friendly and Carrie made sure they didn't bother me when I was working. The desk in the bedroom is large and the Internet access was fast enough to allow me to see highlights from the Red Sox game. If I'm in town again I will definitely stay with Carrie!
Came back and stayed with Carrie and Hannah a second time around through Salt Lake. My second stay was as welcome and comfortable as my first. Wonderful hosts! :)
Carrie was very welcoming and made me completely at home - even had a "Welcome Betty" sign! The room was clean and neat and quite spacious. Nice to have a small frig in the room and private bathroom. Carrie generously left goodies to eat as well. Her daughter Hannah was helpful and friendly and carried my things into the house. Carrie has a soft spot for cats and has two cats that are very lucky to have her - one without her back paws and the other without a back leg. Not to mention the new kitten she just adopted that was near death and she carefully nurtured back to health. Her care for them is an indicator of her care for people who stay with her. I have booked another night with Carrie on my rad trip that will bring me through Utah again.
At the risk of sounding over the top...Carrie and Hannah's place is the place to stay hands down! I was in Utah for a large institute with attendees coming from all over the world and I didn't speak to anyone that wasn't jealous when I told them what it was like staying at Skiers Dream! If I listed all the things they did for me to make my stay comfortable and relaxing, I would have to write a book. Upon my arrival, there was a "Welcome Katheryn" sign outside my door, my room was absolutely spotless and tidy, was stocked with food and cold water (soda and flat), and fresh roses were in a vase on the desk. Although I have lots of pictures of us having a blast (whether they were during a midnight run to take pictures with the moon, during a gorgeous hike with Hannah, or while I'm making a complete laughing matter of myself playing Wi) they also knew when I needed time alone to recoup after long days at the institute. Speaking of recoup...I can't forget to mention that after a long hike, I came back quite sunburned (hello, Irish), to which Carrie quickly made me a wrap that took away all the pain and cooled off the burn completely. I was spoiled rotten! Oh, and did I mention, there was enough food for a whole army on a table whenever I needed to grab something?!
I also can't say enough about the location of the house. If you really need some time alone, this is a wonderful place to stay to relax and get away. Beautiful hikes are just minutes away. Being an avid hiker myself, I went almost every evening, the hikes taking me away from civilization and quickly increasing in altitude. Hike at sunset...the view of the lake is amazing. In addition to the wilderness hikes, you'll also be super close to everything you need in Sandy. Cute grocery stores, amazing restaurants, a great gym, etc. Close to the Great Salt Lake, you can also be the obvious tourist (that was me!) and get close to the buffalo on Antelope Island and (if you're not turned off to the smell and bugs), swim in the lake and float like a buoy!
Bottom line...Carrie and Hannah's place is one not to miss. I originally decided to stay there because it was the cheapest place in the area, but upon arrival, I quickly found that they could charge double and it would still be a whopping deal for the guest. So looking forward to my next trip to Skiers Dream.
