We welcome you to enjoy the City in the best possible way and stay in our sunny, spacious and beautifully decorated home. Our flat sits above a café that serves delicious food and killer coffee and is also nested among other restaurants, pubs, produce markets, wine & cheese shops and the best organic ice cream bar on the planet. If you enter your dates in the calendar search and this listing comes up then that means our place is available. We welcome you to book and look forward to hosting you.
YOUR ROOM AND AMENITIES
Your master bedroom is a large, 15x12 space with French doors that open to views of a wood burning fire place and 32" flat screen digital TV. There are hardwood floors throughout and you get great morning and afternoon light that fills up the entire room. The bedroom is suitable for one or two guests and has a comfortable queen sized bed with pillow top, premium linens and down comforter. The bathroom is detached but is only yours to use.
YOUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME
The flat you’ll be staying in is a large, 3 bedroom, 2 bath unit. As mentioned above, you will have the private master bedroom. One of the other rooms has been converted to a reading/relaxation room. The reading room doubles as a relaxing and peaceful dining room setting where dinner party guests can converse over candles and art. The entire unit has hardwood floors throughout (except kitchen and bathrooms) with vaulted ceilings and crown molding. You have full access to a completely stocked kitchen (should you wish to cook) along with access to all the common spaces including a garden rooftop for sun bathing.
•High-speed wireless internet (bring your laptop!)
•Apple TV and Netflix on a 32" flat screen TV, plus stereo surround sound and a DVD player (there is also a movie rental shop downstairs)
•Hand soap, body wash and shampoo
•Washer in unit (dryers downstairs in laundromat)
•Firewood for the fireplace
•Record player plus classic and modern music records
THE SURROUNDING AREA
As mentioned before, we are located in the heart of Cole Valley. This specific part of the city is a perfect mix of the hustle and bustle of city living and tree lined streets. Within a one block radius is one of the most highly rated brunch spots in SF – Zazzie, a brand new organic ice cream parlor, Pharmaca, an organic grocery store (similar to Whole Foods with better prices), a gym and much, much more. Venture off a few blocks more and you will find San Francisco’s beautiful Golden Gate Park (within GGP is Academy of Science, DeYoung Museum, the Botanical Gardens and the Conservatory of Flowers), Kezar stadium (for morning runs), The Haight & Ashbury, and plenty of shopping.
We are seconds away from the N-muni line which takes you to downtown in 15 minutes or out to Ocean Beach. Street parking is plentiful but beware of the street signs…they WILL try to confuse you.
Guests will have access to the master bedroom, living room, relaxation/reading room, bathroom, kitchen and rooftop.
Most of your interaction will be with our roommates as Jackie and I are usually traveling for work.
The N-Judah is a major transportation line that leads you to Ocean Beach or to Downtown. If you take the N-Judah towards downtown and get off at Civic Center station you can transfer to BART which will take you throughout the Bay Area including SFO and Oakland Airport.
Our roommate Sydnee has a poodle cocker spaniel mix that is hypoallergenic. She's adorable!

A beautiful large room - bright, light and airy.
The house mates are lovely, considerate and helpful.
The location is great for cafe culture, and in the residential part of the city, giving a homely feel.
I would definitely recommend this flat.
Although we never met Steven and Jackie, we had a great stay in their classic Cole Valley row house. Their flat mates were very welcoming and had time to give us a tour of the apartment and all it has to offer. Steven and Jackie have great taste in decor and accessories, and aside from the missing guitar (understandably) we were living inside the photos on the add. The street noise is apparent, however your hosts have considered this and have provided complimentary ear plugs. The location really couldn't be better with everything you need only steps away, and if you are coming from the airport, it's an easy commute utilizing only the Bart and then one transfer onto the muni N line that pops up literally steps from Steven and Jackie's doorstep.
We would recommend this flat to anyone looking for an authentic cole valley (website hidden). Bring your own shower gel and shampoo
Host & Check-In: Steven responded immediately to my booking request and was very helpful with my queries, suggesting restaurants, places of interest and transportation options available in the area. I was given a lock box code to retrieve the key in case roommate Michael was not around, but he was there when I checked in and gave me the official tour. Michael was very pleasant and helpful during my stay though I didn’t get to see him around much between my work timings and his.
Facilities: The rooms were beautifully decorated and very well furnished and maintained. The bedroom is nice and cozy with a lovely view and opens out into a living room with a TV, entertainment system and a lovely workspace by the window. The bedroom also opens out into the kitchen with the bathroom further down the hall (Note that the door that opens into the kitchen is a swinging door and has no latch. The door leading into the living area also does not have a lock in case you’re looking for a little privacy). There was also a lovely relaxation room at the end of the hall, which I did not get a chance to use. High speed WiFi was also included and guest login and password was kept ready for me on the dresser when I checked in along with fresh towels.
Location: The flat is beautifully located, and is right in front of a bus stop and a train stop. Between the two you can get to pretty much any area of San Francisco. There are excellent restaurants and cafes within a stone’s throw of the house as well as a pharmacy, hardware store, liquor store and a Walgreen’s within walking distance. If you’re into music, Amoeba Records is at the end of the road. It is also just a few blocks away from the Golden Gate Park. Previous guests have mentioned that it’s not very quiet at times, but for me the rhythm and constant sounds of the city are something that I’m used to and is quite comforting - from the soft sounds of buses and trains stopping, cars driving by and the muffled sounds of music from the cafes and restaurants nearby. If it’s not your thing though, earplugs were available on the dresser for use.
Overall this was my first time booking through Airbnb and I’ve had a fantastic experience - if I’m ever back in San Francisco I’d definitely want to stay here again.
Beautiful room/house, excellent location and nice people. Everything worked out despite of our last minute booking.
Steve and Jackie were wonderful and very accommodating to work with. They responded to all of our questions very quickly and positively. The place was just as pictured and right in the heart of where we wanted to be with lots of amazing restaurants and shops within walking distance. Our stay was very private and we hardly noticed we had a room mate in the house. We highly recommend a stay at their place and hope to go back soon. Great experience for our first time being an Airbnd guest instead of host!
Great location, nice rooms. Did not meet our hosts. Their roommate was very nice and helpful. We found everything to be clean and well-prepared for us. Only thing to mention: It was the weekend of Thanksgiving with live music in the café beneath the appartment. It was somewhat audible... On the upside we did enjoy the lovely and lively, truly "San Francisco'esque" area!
We just want to clarify for all future Airbnb guests that Reverie cafe does not typically play live music. As the guest mentioned above, their stay was during Thanksgiving which is when the restaurant hosts their employee appreciation night. Restaurant noise has never been an issue with us or any other bnb guests in the past.
Having the restaurant below has always been a bonus. They serve great coffee and have 4 stars with nearly 400 reviews on Yelp!
The bedroom and bathroom were very clean. Did not get to see Steve and Jackie but roommate Allen was really friendly and welcoming. There is street parking downstairs so it was pretty easy. The bedroom does not have a proper door that's the only thing bothered me. The kitchen was also pretty messy, we did not have any breakfast there, always go to the cafe downstairs. Otherwise it was all okay.
My stay at Steven and Jackie's was great! You can't ask to be in a better spot than here! Mere steps away from excellent coffee shops and restaurants (my favs are La Boulange and Pedrocito)! The roommates are very friendly and never in the way. Most of the time it felt as though we had the place to ourselves. The rental is a very beautiful, clean spacious place and I would come back in a heartbeat. I come to SF annually and couldn't have hoped to stay in a better location! Thanks Steven and Jackie! :)
My stay at Steven and Jackie's place was a fantastic first Airbnb experience. I used to live in SF and already knew I loved the neighborhood (great collection of little restaurants, cafes and bars within easy walking distance to the Haight and Golden Gate Park). The apartment itself was very clean and spacious - I had plenty of space for my stuff and enjoyed pretty much exclusive use of the living space. Their roommate, Adam, was very easygoing and nice and never interfered with any feeling of privacy.
My favourite specifics.... the bed (super comfy), smooth wireless access, and an overall sense that you're really in a genuine San Francisco environment vs. a sterile downtown hotel. I should note that you will hear some noise from the nearby muni train but unless you're super sensitive, it's not bothersome.
Finally, I highly recommend breakfast at Crepes on Cole, lunch at Cafe Reverie and a nightcap at Finnegan's Wake. Miss it already and would definitely come back!
Good location, nice room and bathroom, bed was comfortable--lots of good things. However, the room needs a fan, the lights need to work, there needs to be some kleenex AND there should be a supply of toilet paper. Mainly positive but a few correctable issues.
