A bright and comfortable two-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage with a spacious yard, deck, and pond views. Fully furnished, and convenient to downtown and beaches. Cottage is attached to a larger main residence.

The space
Stone Whale Cottage is a bright and comfortable two-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage on a secluded property in Chatham. Named after the stone whale that overlooks the back yard, the cottage is perfect for couples and small families. It includes a newly renovated kitchen, living room, and a sun room overlooking the spacious backyard and pond. The cottage sleeps 4-5 guests comfortably (6 in a pinch!), with a queen bed in the first floor master bedroom and two beds (twin and full) in the upstairs bedroom. There is a queen sleeper sofa in the living room.

Guests can dine in the eat-in kitchen or on the outdoor deck. The cottage includes a gas grill, outdoor toys and games, and some summer reading!

Please note: Stone Whale is a separate cottage attached to a larger house where the owner resides. There are separate outdoor entrances, yards, and driveways, and there is no indoor access between the houses.

Guest access
Guests have their own yard, deck, and lawn furniture, including a gas grill and fire pit. Guests also have full use of both driveways, which can accommodate small boat trailers. Contact us if you would like to bring your boat.

Other things to note
-Three night minimum stay.
-The house is professionally cleaned between guests. A $100 cleaning fee will be added to your bill.
-We provide comforters and pillows. Please bring your own bed sheets and bath towels (one queen, one full, one twin, one queen sofa bed). If you need to rent sheets and towels you may do so for $75. Just let us know!
-Guests are required to sign a standard rental agreement before arrival.

I'm a father and grandfather who has raised my family and worked on the Cape for many years. My wife and I built the cottage as separate residence to our house in the 1990s to host family and friends. When my wife passed away several years ago, I opened the cottage to vacationers and really didn't know what to expect, but it has truly been a pleasure. I've had the opportunity to meet and know many wonderful and interesting people from all over the United States and the world. I hope that our guests love the cottage and Chatham as much as we have. I live in the attached (but fully separate) main residence. I spend my days out and about in town, visiting family, and commercial fishing and shellfishing. When booking the cottage, you will likely be in touch with my daughter who has kindly agreed to help manage reservations so I can enjoy my retirement!

During your stay
I'm happy to interact with guests as much or as little as they would like. I can answer any questions about the house or provide local knowledge on activities, beaches, and restaurants. Although I live next door, you’ll rarely see me. I'm usually out and about around town, visiting family, or out fishing. If for some reason I’m away or cannot be reached, my daughter, who manages the cottage remotely, can provide you with any information you might need.
