  • My husband and I entrusted Roxanne with our first stay in NY; I couldn't be happier we did.
Roxanne knows how to get things done, we asked for a dinner recommendation, she had 5, and while we changed, Roxanne called ahead to make sure we got a table.

The apartment location is great, we walked along Central Park daily, also 5min walk from a good brunch place, Lido, or Levain bakery, with amazing chocolate chip cookies.

The interior of the apartment is chic, great art work, warm, and was ultimately very nice to come back to after a long day of exploring NY

  • Roxanne kindly met my boyfriend and I at Penn Station and escorted us to her apartment late Friday night. The apartment was very well located and stylish (like her). It was exactly as shown in the photos. We liked the fact it was only steps from Central Park and very close to the metro. Even though NY was cold and we had caught the tail end of a blizzard, we enjoyed the Park a lot, and had a lovely walk and roasted nuts on Day 1 and a nice hour long run on Day 2. There were lots of families and joggers about so it felt very safe. Getting around in the metro was cheap and easy and we went to Wall Street, Greenwich Village, Broadway, Times Square and the library.

The apartment was centrally located, very clean, the bed very comfortable, the towels soft, the closet large enough for two travellers, the wifi very fast and the water nice and hot. What more could you want? Oh, a nice host. Well, Roxanne is all that.

Roxanne provided us with helpful tips (where to eat breakfast, things to see, etc.) and was welcoming and warm and responsive to texts and emails. Her hospitality background is evident. I would recommend her to other travellers.

    Saludos

  • Roxanne is an all-encompassing host. She is a very helpful and knowledgeable host, especially in such a big city as New York.
What I admire most about Roxanne as a host is her caring attention to her guess. Everything from umbrellas on a raining day, restaurant recommendations to extensive knowledge of different suburbs, Roxanne got you covered! The room was exactly as described in a beautiful apartment . Lots of sunlight and exquisite choice of comforter and furniture. Excellent host!

  • Roxanne has been a wonderful host from start to finish! Our room was lovely, clean and even managed to exceed expectations (the wonderful closet isn't pictured - but it's amazing!) Roxanne was very timely with email responses and was there to greet us at the door with our keys, some hot tea and good conversation. Everything was exactly like the photos and both subway stops were easy to find and also a very short walk (our favorite was the one by Central Park North). My sister and I never felt unsafe on our walks back to the apartment - everything was fairly suburban and quiet. I would HIGHLY recommend Roxanne's hospitality and also this beautiful room! My sister and I were very cozy there and loved feeling like we had a "home" in the city.

  • Staying at Roxanne's has been a big surprice. Her flat is cosy with a wonderful living room and the bedroom has a comfi bed which is extremly relaxing after a long walk in NY. Roxanne gave me lots of good advices for my stay.

  • I had a great stay. The sunny room was a delight. Roxanne was patient with my delayed arrival in traffic and greeted me cheerfully with warm muffins and tea. The location of her apartment is convenient to visit the grand cathedral of St John the Divine -- a nice 1 mile walk past Central Park with leaves changing fall colors. The neighborhood is safe --my daughter recently graduated from college and lives in the area. Roxanne gave us ideas for shopping for job interview wardrobe at local sales and which museums are free on certain days. Roxanne is thoughtful, well-traveled and fun to talk with. The apartment is comfortable and immaculate. Bed is comfortable. City noise from street--but it's NYC.

  • We really enjoyed staying in Roxanne's place. The room was great, with lot of light and a flat screen TV. Roxanne is very friendly & hospitable, with coffee available for our use, as well as toiletries as needed. We much preferred this situation vs. staying at an overpriced hotel! The apartment is in a transitional area at the north end of Central Park, with easy access to the subway. There was a bit of nighttime noise from the street & train, but we just chalk that up to being in an urban environment.

  • Roxanne had been a truly wonderful host. She goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable as a guest. Very warm, engaging personality. I truly enjoyed her hosting!

Loved the room as well, very tastefully and well-furnished. Location is close to Central Park and public transport.

I stayed for five nights, and felt at home.

About
I am a native New Yorker, former luxury hotel concierge, flaneuse and bonne vivante. I like foreign films, dark chocolate, fine tea, espresso, the theatre, live music and outdoor activities such as hiking, canoeing and biking. From museums, restaurants, shopping to where to get a reflexology massage at midnight, I am happy to show you my city and to offer a comfortable and tranquil stay in my home. I have lived in Spain, France, Helsinki and Milan. I speak English, Italian and French with a knowledge of Spanish. Some of my favorite places in the world are the Seychelles, Sardinia, Italy and the countryside in the northeast of America. 5 things that I cannot live without are good books, music, my juicer, good quality tea and a feather down pillow. My style of travel is where authenticity meets luxury. My style of hosting is to meet and greet you warmly. Answering any questions you have about the apartment and the city; then advising you in the right direction, arming you with a map, IN Where NY magazines that are chock full of information and wishing you the best with your set of keys in hand and the freedom to choose your path in this great Big Apple! P.S. Pretty please do not request a booking more than two months ahead (as I may not be available and do not wish to cancel anyone's trip unexpectedly.) Also please reply with a profile photo, a bit about yourself and why you are visiting New York.
