People usually feel very cozy in my home. A mix of artsy and earthy.

The neighborhood, Gowanus, is right in the middle of 4 very popular and well known neighborhoods; Parkslope, Carroll Gardens, Fort Greene and Sunset Park. Filled to the brim with restaurants, cafes and boutiques. Prospect park, the Brooklyn Museum, the Botanic Garden are a 15 minute walking distance from the apartment. Hipsters mixed with new and old families. Watch out for the baby strollers! Especially on Sundays.

The apartment is a block away from the R subway train, approx 15 minutes from downtown Manhattan. One stop on the R train will take you to Atlantic Ave/Barclay Center, a major subway hub. Street parking outside the building and garage parking closer to 7ave. There are also buses. I will make maps available for both subways and buses.

Guest access

Guests have full use of the living room and kitchen.

Interaction with guests

If you're renting the entire apartment for your stay, I of course, won't be there. I'm always accessible via phone, text or email.

The neighborhood

I love that my neighborhood is in the middle of Everything! There's even a brand new Wholefoods 5 blocks away.

Getting around

If arriving from JFK-
You can take a cab, which would be quicker but the most expensive. It would take about 45 minutes depending on traffic.

There's also public transportation, you will need to buy a Metrocard at the airport.
Take JFK Airtrain to the A train going to Brooklyn, get off at Jay Street/MetroTech.
Take the R train to Brooklyn and get off at Union St.
My apartment will be a block away from the station.
1 hour 40 minutes, approximate, travel time.

While you're here-
The R subway train is one block away from the apartment. The buses are pretty reliable and run very frequently. A great way to see the city without wearing out your shoes.

Other things to note

As you see in the pictures of my home, I have plants. Depending on how long you're staying you may be asked to water them. Just a heads up.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Keely's home. We stayed in her home for a month because our current home in neighboring Carrol Gardens was under renovation. Keely was an extraordinary host and the apartment itself was cozy, yet spacious and super comfortable. Her particular area of Gowanas is about as cool as it gets, so for those who want a real Brooklyn experience, this is the place! We were very sad to say goodbye as we really enjoyed our time there. We would absolutely recommend Keely's apartment to people.

Nice home in a nice neighborhood! Keely had a tidy and clean place with everything we needed for our stay , like plates , glasses and stuff for cooking. She was very nice to us and gave us some recommendations for eating around! If I came back to NY, I would undoubtedly repeat at Keeley's

loved Keely's apartment very cosy for my travel partner and I. Super close to the subway in classic downtown Brooklyn. Would recommend for first timers coming to NYC to experience other neighbourhoods that isn't Manhattan. Fell in love with NYC :)

Great apartment, nice location closed to subway, lots of light and Keely was very accommodating. Would recommend, and nice restaurants and bars nearby.

We had a really nice stay at Keely's apartment. There are some nice restaurants in walking distance and the subway station is really close. Communication with Keely was really easy and she was a great host. Just one word of warning: If you are a light sleeper, bring some earplugs. The street outside the bedroom window can be busy ;)

The apartment is well located near the R train that will easily get you to Manhattan (but doesn't run on late night, you have to get off at Atlantic av and walk a little) in a great neighborhood (lots of shops, grocery store, park, restaurants, everything you might need). The place in itself is what you see on the pictures ! It's clean and has everything you need for a short or longer stay. Even though we didn't see Keely, she was communicative with clear instructions to facilitate our stay and really accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place !

...a Massage Therapist living in New York for the past 20 years. As of August 2013, living part-time in Detroit (my home town).
I love to travel and absolutely understand the importance of having a safe, clean, affordable and comfortable roof over my head.

I meditate, practice yoga (mostly at home) and love bike riding, the streets
of Detroit are perfect for it. I enjoy going out to dinner with friends but having dinner with a close group of friends at home is priceless.

Thanks for checking out my place and profile!
