My apartment is within walking distance to everything, including numerous restaurants & shops, Trader Joe's, dry cleaning, and ofcourse beautiful Lake Merritt, which is perfect for walking, running, biking, or a relaxing picnic. The Lake Merritt Farmers Market is every Saturday from 8am-2pm and the historic Grand Lake Theater is located around the corner. Downtown Oakland is also nearby (5min. by car & 30min. on foot) and is a foodie and artist playground. Neighborhood is diverse and full of fun, vibrant and beautiful people!

Nice, quiet, cozy apt - the best part is that it's very close to shops, restaurants & Lake Merritt. Daniella is very attentive and super accommodating. Great place to stay1
Great cozy apartment in wonderful Lakeshore neighborhood! Perfect walk to either Lakeshore or Grand to great stores and restaurants.
Daniella is lovely, super responsive and really helpful. Her place is really charming, well appointed and comfortable. I would definitely recommend!
We enjoyed our stay with Daniella. Everything was as she described. Although she isn't always available to greet arriving guests, she was there for us, and explained everything to us. The bed was comfortable, the place was clean, and the live plants added freshness and delight.
Quiet, Safe, Comfortable, Convenient. This place is a gem! I had to book last minute, and the host was so accommodating I can't thank her enough. I'm a bit of a newbie to airbnb and she communicated with me throughout the process so I felt really comfortable. The home was immaculate, with lots of space and I even went for a walk around Lake Merritt which is really close by. What a beautiful neighborhood that's safe and quiet, and if you're looking for good food it's just down the street. I drove into San Francisco and it only took 10 minutes to my surprise, and the Bay Bridge drive is worth it. This unit is worth it. So nice and so much more convenient than other listings, I'm surprised the host doesn't charge much more than that. If you're still looking around for a place to stay, your search has ended, my friends.
I had a wonderful stay at Daniella's gem of an apartment. It's within walking distance of some great restaurants (I highly recommend Lin Jia), one of the better used bookstores in the East Bay & the lovely Lake Merritt. Daniella was great at communicating and making sure all was good for my extended stay. The apartment itself is very comfortable & tastefully decorated. I highly recommend Daniella's studio for your Oakland visit.
I was bit scrambled after having to incorporate a last-minute trip into my schedule with a lot of moving parts.
Daniella was uber helpful, accommodating and patient while I finalized my details.
When I finally arrived to the apartment, it was a peaceful oasis in a great neighborhood. I got there easily from the airport on the public transportation system.
Easy to sleep and easy to get up and go get into life! Even a friend who picked me up loved it upon arrival.
I recommend it for anyone.
We enjoyed our 5-night stay - comfortable, clean, tastefully decorated apartment; convenient location; easy parking. Daniella provided timely and complete communication. We met her briefly on our arrival & appreciated her friendly welcome!
Great location. Walking distance to all kinds of amenities.
The studio apartment is very "cozy" but comfortable enough for two people. Older plumbing and bathroom/kitchen fixtures that, while fully functional, needed a more thorough cleaning.
Not sure I would stay here again unless it was truly guest-ready.
Linda, thank you for your constructive feedback. My unit was built pre-World War II & is complete with really neat original fixtures, including a Murphy table and an ice box (which I now use for storage); part of what makes my apartment so charming.. The kitchen sink and tiles are all original and as much as I clean the sink and tiles they never look spotless. The bathroom sink is also original. Believe me, this has been a sore spot for me, but I would rather live in a charming original building, versus a brand new construction unit that lacks character. I sincerely apologize if the condition of my apartment was not up to your standards. Please be assured that before you checked in I thoroughly cleaned all surfaces. I hope that you enjoyed your stay in Oakland!
Daniella was a super helpful and friendly host, who went to the extra mile to make sure my in-laws were comfortable in her home. They stayed in her place for 2 weeks, and Daniella checked in with us part way through to make sure everything was ok. The apartment is nicely decorated and has a great big comfortable bed. I can also vouch for the neighborhood, which is perhaps the best in Oakland!
Maybe you can figure it out. "Daniella," the host, tells me I can check in at 3 p.m. Around that time, after flying across country I text her that I'm on my way to her place. I get a text back saying the key's under the mat, let yourself in. I figure perfect. But when I arrive there's no key under a mat. "Daniella" and I text back and forth as "Daniella" tries to explain where the key is. No luck. So I suggest that instead of texting why don't I call and she can verbally explain where this key may be. I'm texted back that that's not possible but I should wait and she'll come by after work and get me in. I'm thinking, "ok, I'm in no hurry." As 6 p.m. approaches I get a text saying she's just about there. Then, only minutes after that text, I get another one saying that she stopped by and the key is under the mat as she'd said all along and she had left! What made that so shocking is that the WHOLE time I was sitting on her front steps . . . so the ONLY way she could've come by was if she had ingested some potion that rendered herself invisible! So after never seeing nor talking to "her," I've got to start from scratch and find a place to spend the night in an unfamiliar city. I'm a veteran traveler and have been to many remote parts of the world. I know how to roll with the punches, I don't expect everything to work out the way they're planned. But this???
So what was really going on here?. . . . your theory would likely be as good as mine.
All of our correspondence was fine until Ken arrived at my unit. He claimed not to find my house key. This has never been an issue before with any of my very happy guests. I gave Ken the benefit of the doubt and left work early to go back to my apartment to make sure he had a key. When I arrived at my home the key was exactly where I left it. This alarmed me as a safety concern and I decided not to meet him face to face. I re-sent the instructions to enter my home. Ken was still insistent on meeting me in person, which made me uncomfortable and claimed he couldn't get in my apartment, which is completely ridiculous. He then requested a refund from Air Bnb & now I'm out $77. I could have easily rented my unit to someone else. Really negative experience in which I have been punished for being safe and following my instincts & Ken has been rewarded for not following instructions and insisting to meet me in person for the key exchange, which is not an Air Bnb policy. Ladies, be aware of this man. Better safe than sorry when hosting strange men in your home!!
