The place was clean and exactly as described. The location was nice. I had some internet issues, but Lindsay and her husband worked with the internet company to resolve those.
Lindsay made me feel very welcome. The room was private, clean and had everything I needed for a few days in Austin.
The SoCo Hideaway worked out well for our stay of 3 nights in Austin. It was about a 10 minute walk up to South Congress St and about a 25-30 minute walk to the heart of Downtown. If you have a car it's really easy to get everywhere in Austin and there's plenty of street parking at the apartment.
The bed was comfy and it had everything we needed. It would've helped if there was some sort of information document with instructions on where things were kept and directions of how to get places, but the wifi was good so we could easily (website hidden) where exactly we were situated in relation to the area.
There was only one spoon in the kitchen and there were two of us staying so we had to use a plastic spoon for cereal in the mornings but that wasn't a big deal. With a little bit more detail given the apartment would've been up there with other awesome Airbnb places we've stayed.
The only real negative was the air conditioning is controlled from the apartment upstairs, so we did not have access to this. We texted Lindsay to adjust the temperature and she got onto it straight away (she could adjust it from her cell phone) but it would have been much better if we could adjust the temperature ourselves. We did wake up hot one night but obviously couldn't text Lindsay to adjust the temp at 1am.
Other than this, we had a great stay in Austin and Lindsay was a great host with excellent communication.
This review is for the 2 bedroom place at the same address as we were upgraded just before check in. We were very pleased with this stay. The place is beautifully furnished and had a great (and well needed) air con system. Lindsay was easily reached on phone and always happy to help. It is a little far out of town if you don't have a car, but we managed buses and walking even in the Austin August heat!
The little apartment is absolutely adorable and perfect for a weekend getaway to Austin. The whole booking process and communicating with Lindsey was easy. Lindsey was very helpful throughout the whole process, even though we never actually met her. The apartment is on the same property of another rental. My boyfriend brought his dogs and they loved the yard.
Lindsay was very accommodating and friendly. The neighborhood is great too -- only a few blocks away from S Congress Ave, which has some great places to eat and leads directly into downtown. The room was spotless and even came with some extra goodies in the cupboard. The building is sufficiently tucked away from the road to make the room quiet and allow for some great rest. Outside, there's a small patio area shaded by trees where you can sit and enjoy your coffee. In the morning, the trees partially filter the light coming in through the windows to let in just enough light to wake you up. There's a little window above the shower (privacy-safe) that you can open to catch a breeze while you're taking a shower. Overall, it's a very relaxing place to stay while on vacation in Austin.
We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. It was in the best location for what we had planned for the week. We will try to stay here every time we visit Austin.
