Staying and Starky's was great. Whether you choose to walk around or take public transportation in Barcelona, the apartment is conveniently located to many sites and attractions. In terms of living, the bedroom was simple, the apartment had all the basic needs one could use, and hanging out in the living room was very relaxing and enjoyable. Starsky was very easy to talk to, helpful, and funny. Mary also seems nice. I would reccommend staying here for the price and good company.
Starsky is very welcoming et does everything to make you feel comfortable.
The place is 5mn from Plaza Espana by walking, close to Montjuic (15mn if you like walking) and there are groceries all around the corner.
I recommand you to take a pull-over, because weather at Barcelona is not as cool as we can presume in winter, and the flat can be a little fresh.
But it stays a very good address for your trip !
Cheap and central as I was looking for, but very noisy and cold. Also, not so clean as expected. Be prepared to share the appartment with other travellers and not with the couple.
Just a friendly reminder that when seeking budget accommodation (you paid about 1/4 of the low end average price for a private hotel room in BCN) that you should also have reasonable expectations. I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say the flat is "noisy" but we have asked guests to be silent after 23h (this is in your travel itinerary when you make the booking). Any apartment in the city center will have some kind of noise issue, whether its traffic, neighbours, elevators etc. but of course that is not our fault as it is out of our control. We do have our other listings mentioned on our profile, as well as links to the other rooms available, so if you read the full room description, you would have known there are other people sharing the flat. As always with Airbnb, if you have certain expectations, you should ask before for you make the booking. We always respond rapidly to inquiries. If it was important for you that Starsky and I were often in the house, you could have asked us about our schedules...we both work very hard and have busy lives so we aren't often around the flat. As for cleanliness, we clean regularly but of course as I mentioned, we have busy lives so with others sharing the flat it can't always be spotless, but I think for the price you really can't complain.
Lovely apartment located at just couple of minutes walk from Plaza de Espanya. You can get everywhere from there in 15 minutes.
I had a lovely welcome and a very pleasant stay. The hosts are very easy going and friendly and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a stay in this wonderful city.

I'm from Portland ,Oregon, USA and I've been living in Barcelona since June 2011. I studied a master's degree in Translation Studies at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona) and am currently working as a freelance translator/english teacher.
My interests include, hiking, camping, cooking, soccer, dancing, el Camino de Santiago, yoga, running, foreign languages, and of course, world travel. I couldn't pick a favorite place in the world, there are too many wonderful things to see and experience; however, next on my destination list is the Annapurna Circuit Trek in Nepal.
Although I'm new to Airbnb, I have lots of experience living with people from all over the world. Previous roommates of mine have come from countries such as China, Nigeria, Kenya, Cuba, Colombia, Venezuela, Iran and Mexico.
Looking forward to meeting more travelers from all over the world!
