The Space

This is a one-bedroom loft in the heart of Old City Philadelphia. The apartment has everything you could need while on vacation - full kitchen, private bathroom, wireless internet, washer/dryer! Did we mention the hard wood floors & exposed brick (see pics)!

There is a queen size bed upstairs in the loft. And a blow up matress downstairs for guest 3 & 4.

The apartment is within a 5 minute walk to all of the historical locations! And close to everything else in the city that you will want to see including Reading Terminal Market, China Town, Italian Market, etc...

Check In
  • Shauna and Kyle were AWESOME hosts! They kept in touch by text the morning we were due to drive down, and the communication was fantastic. The apartment is unreal, it's in an old sugar refinery, and it's SO convenient to pretty much everything in Philly (and also super pretty). The little coffee shop next door makes awesome burritos. Parking is close and cheap and easy to find. We walked everywhere all weekend. As a Bostonian who had never been to Philly, I want to go back immediately and it's largely due to having enjoyed the apartment we stayed in SO much!

  • The loft is lovely, and has a great location. Easy walking to all the downtown sights. Shauna and Kyle are great hosts - cheerful, easy to work with, very responsive. Super value.

  • Shauna was wonderful! She was great about keeping in touch with us before and during our trip. There was a welcome letter on the table with suggestions of places to go in the neighborhood as well as a gift card to the coffee shop downstairs. ( we liked it so much, we went there every morning before setting out for a busy day) The apartment was clean and in a great neighborhood.
This was our first time to use airbnb and it was a very positive experience. We will definitely be doing this again.

  • Loved this place!! Shauna was very attentive and responsive to our inquiries, getting the keys to us, and locating the apartment was a breeze. The apartment was exactly how it is shown on the website. Very clean, neat and well kept. Very comfortable bed, and nice and quiet considering you are in the middle of the city. We were in town for a graduation and the location was great for our needs, subway was convenient, lots of restaurants and night life nearby. There was a great little coffee shop next door (which our host left us a gift card for). Also a great area for sight seeing and tourist attractions. Would definitely recommend staying here, it is safe, quiet and it is a great area with lots to do nearby.

  • Shauna was attentive, responded quickly to my inquiries & even left tourist information for us. The place is beautifully decorated, CLEAN, prime location. Will ABSOLUTELY try to stay here again the next time I'm in Philly! This place made my birthday weekend complete! Shauna- I left my Heady Topper in your fridge- Enjoy!

  • If you're visiting Philly, staying at Shauna and Kyle's house is the way to do it. Our time in the city was wonderful and convenient. It's close to so many restaurants, bars, and shops, as well as many Philly landmarks. At the same time, the place was quiet - it was almost like we weren't in the city! The place is comfortably decorated and the bed is comfortable. We visited with our dog, and it was amazing knowing that Vader was comfortable and welcomed. The loft is the perfect situation for couples or someone visiting on business. Shauna and Kyle are also super available the entire trip.

  • must say that even though I knew location would be a major plus given its old city location, I underestimated just how centrally located this is. free parking on the street near independence hall (a charming thing to be able to say, by itself) and a cute cobblestone alley location.

once inside the apartment, it was clear that this was one of the nicer units in the place. I can declare true after looking into the other sugar refinery apartments back when I considered a lease at the location. the wood accents are striking, the exposed brick wall is lovely, and the open-aired layout that Shauna & co. has cultivated was enjoyable.

i'm a sucker (email hidden)-level and the lofted bed was a fun architectural novelty.

usually stay closer to center city but having stayed at 255 church st, I think my locus might have shifted to the charm of olde city.

  • This gorgeous loft in the Old City section of Philly is perfect for a weekend getaway! Shauna and Kyle made sure that everything was all set for my arrival and offered some good visitor tips. I could not imagine staying anywhere else if this apartment is available!

  • The loft was clean and a beautiful space in the perfect location for exploring the city. Even though they were traveling themselves, Shauna and Kyle went above and beyond to make sure that we were able to get into the apartment and that we were comfortable. Definitely a great place to stay.

  • Our stay in Philadelphia was perfect, this place was wonderful and the location was excellent (I don't think the photos give justice to the place). We didn't want to leave. Shauna was really friendly and a great communicator.

We are those weirdos who have been together since we were acne-faced, prepubescent children and still ACTUALLY enjoy the hell out of each other (except when Kyle snores or Shauna loses her keys and/or phone for the 12th time of the day and mistakenly blames Kyle for moving them when she actually left them in the refrigerator). We left good jobs, a nice home and people we love in California to try something new in Philly and haven't looked back since. The love of our life is our dog, Tripp (named after Matthew McConaughey's character in the 2006 hit rom com, Failure to Launch), who so graciously allows us to live in HIS apartment. Shauna thinks everything tastes better with peanut butter. Kyle thinks everything tastes better with sriracha. Shauna is right.
