This is a one-bedroom loft in the heart of Old City Philadelphia. The apartment has everything you could need while on vacation - full kitchen, private bathroom, wireless internet, washer/dryer! Did we mention the hard wood floors & exposed brick (see pics)!
There is a queen size bed upstairs in the loft. And a blow up matress downstairs for guest 3 & 4.
The apartment is within a 5 minute walk to all of the historical locations! And close to everything else in the city that you will want to see including Reading Terminal Market, China Town, Italian Market, etc...
Our only house rule is THE GOLDEN RULE - treat our home as you would treat your own. This is our main residence (we live here full time) and travel frequently - so we will be staying/living in the loft before and after you leave - please treat the loft like it is your own!
Shauna and Kyle were great! Their communication was awesome and they went out of their way to make sure I had everything I might need. Their loft is just beautiful and really gives the 'east coast' feel! The neighborhood is great and I would love to stay again someday!
My boyfriend and I loved staying in Shauna and Kyle's loft. Communication was quick and seamless, and they were flexible with our arrival and departure times. They left tons of travel info, and even a monthly transit pass and a gift card for the (amazing!) coffee shop next door.
The loft itself is awesome, with amazing natural light and of course, high, airy ceilings. The location could not have been better, with great restaurants, shopping, and tons of historical sites within just a few blocks, and Penn's Landing a quick and scenic walk away. The area and building felt safe and secure.
The layout makes it the perfect spot for a couple, and we loved being situated in such a great neighborhood. These are the Airbnb experiences you hope for! :)
Eric and I absolutely enjoyed our stay at Shauna and Kyle's loft. The hosts were very attentive, even texting us the day of our stay to ensure that we had all the information we needed and found the loft okay. Everything was very neat and tidy, and the loft is absolutely beautiful. We definitely would (and hope to) stay at the loft again. Thank you for a lovely weekend! =)
Very hospitibable. Loft was exactly as described and Shauna and Kyle were generous with their space. They worked with us as we backed up to another rental, would definitely use them again!
Shauna and Kyle's loft was an absolutely incredible stay. A friend and I stayed here for two nights for a weekend getaway in Philly and we could not have happened to come across a more comfortable and convenient place.
The unit itself is very spacious, with a high ceiling and plenty of room both downstairs with the sofa, dining table, and breakfast counter and the upstairs loft and bathroom. WiFi was fast and reliable, heating was very comfortable.
Checking in was simple, with keys being mailed to me a week prior to our stay. We had the apartment entirely to ourselves the whole weekend. Everything was very tidy and clean upon arrival and Shauna and Kyle graciously left several useful maps, tourist guides, and personal local recommendations on the kitchen table for us to peruse and plan out our stay. There was even one of their homebrews for us to enjoy! Which, by the way, was absolutely delicious.
The loft is located in a very convenient location in Old City. There's a great coffee shop just outside the building, the 2nd Street SEPTA subway station is just a minute away, and dozens of incredible restaurants are within a five minute walk (Amada was easily the best meal of our lives). Also within very reasonable walking distance was notable attractions such as Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Chinatown, Reading Terminal Market, South Street, pretty much everything in Center City. A very safe area, and located perfectly such that it's very quiet at night but still only a block away from bustling Market Street.
Shauna and Kyle were both very easy to contact with any questions or concerns from the moment we booked our stay all the way until we checked out, often replying within the hour.
A perfect Airbnb experience. I strongly recommend their listing to anyone looking for an affordable, comfortable, homey stay. I fell in love with the city this weekend and when I'm back, I am certain that this will be the first place I'll look to spend my nights.
Thank you, Shauna and Kyle!
Shauna's place was perfect for my short trip to Philly. Her apartment feels like home and is located in a great spot.
We were in Philadelphia for a family wedding. Their loft is tastefully decorated and very clean and tidy. They left brochures and information out for us as well as some local eatery recommendations. Shauna and Kyle's loft is in a perfect location. We were within walking distance of many of the historical must-sees in Philadelphia. It is very quiet at night and felt safe to walk around even later at night. We would definitely stay there again.
We are those weirdos who have been together since we were acne-faced, prepubescent children and still ACTUALLY enjoy the hell out of each other (except when Kyle snores or Shauna loses her keys and/or phone for the 12th time of the day and mistakenly blames Kyle for moving them when she actually left them in the refrigerator).
We left good jobs, a nice home and people we love in California to try something new in Philly and haven't looked back since.
The love of our life is our dog, Tripp (named after Matthew McConaughey's character in the 2006 hit rom com, Failure to Launch), who so graciously allows us to live in HIS apartment.
Shauna thinks everything tastes better with peanut butter.
Kyle thinks everything tastes better with sriracha.
Shauna is right.
