Spacious loft-style apartment with beautiful private terrace just off the Ramblas in Barcelona’s historic centre. Renovated 200 years old building, modern architect-designed interior respecting original features such as the timber beams and windows.
The loft was completely remodeled in 2005 by architect owner (me:) with a modern open-plan design using sliding panels and curtains to separate spaces rather than walls and doors.
I have put much love and care into this apartment which has been my main home for 10 years, and I am happy for others to enjoy it so long as they are quiet and respectful. Not for party groups!
TERRACE: 15m2 with timber deck floor, large table and chairs, outdoor cooking facilities - sink and gas cooker. Shelter from sun or rain with a remote controlled awning.
KITCHEN: fully equipped with electric (vitro-ceramic) cooker and oven, microwave, dishwasher, stainless steel refrigerator and a bar with 4 barstools.
LIVING AREA with comfy sofa, two lounge chairs, coffee table,TV, music system.
DINING AREA with table and chairs for 6 people, SOFA converts to double BED (200 x 160cm) which can be curtained off.
BATH: large bathtub which can be opened to the living area if desired, and the “inner” bathroom (with normal door) has a shower, toilet and bidet.
BEDROOM 1: spacious room with balcony to the street, large double bed (200 x 160 cm)
DRESSING ROOM: Walk-through to bedroom 1, separated by curtains, you will have plenty of space for clothes.
BEDROOM 2 / STUDY: With desk area and double bed (190 x 150 cm). Can be opened up to the main bedroom or closed by transluscent sliding panels plus thick curtains. Has a window to the street with views to the Ramblas.
You will have full and exclusive use of the apartment and terrace.
Bed linen, towels, basic toiletries, hair dryer, basic kitchen supplies etc. are provided.
Interaction with Guests
I will almost always be at the apartment to welcome you.
CHECK IN/OUT: Please let me know your arrival and departure times and I will be as flexible as possible. Sometimes the official times may have to be respected, but it is possible to drop luggage earlier or store for a few hours after check out.
During your stay I will be staying not far away and can be contacted at anytime in case of problems.
The apartment is 50 metres off the Ramblas, on the edge of the cosmopolitan and happening “Raval” neighborhood of the Old Town.
It is a lively area especially at night with plenty of bars, restaurants and clubs within a few minutes walk.
The Old Port is right on the doorstep and a pleasant stroll along it will take you to the city’s main beach in 15 minutes.
Most of Barcelona's major sights are within easy walking distance - 2mins Palau Guell, 4 mins Liceu Opera house, 7 mins Boqueria market...
Public transport is also very convenient with the metro stop “Drassanes” just 50 metres from the front door, and many bus routes passing close by.
Other Things to Note
MONTHLY RENTALS: a tenant contract will be made and a returnable security deposit of 750€ to be paid directly. Electricity and gas consumption to be charged to the tenant, other services (water & internet) are included.
NOISE: It is very quiet during the day but at night the street-life can get a little noisy, especially on weekends. There is no ambient sound from traffic or music but just from people on the street.
NO ELEVATOR - 4 flights of stairs to climb.
NOISE: Please respect that this is a residential building and it is very important not to disturb the neighbours. No loud music or excessive noise allowed at any time, NO PARTIES, and please always be quiet and discreet in the stairs. Take special care not to make much noise on the terrace at night after 11pm
VISITORS: under no circumstance should you invite anybody who you just met, nor any extra overnight guests. You may occasionally allow one or two visitors during the day if you knew them from before your trip to Barcelona.
SMOKING is forbidden inside. You can smoke on the terrace but please close the door and be very careful to dispose of ash and butts, do not leave them behind.
Please TAKE CARE with the apartment and it’s contents and try to leave everything where/as you found it. If anything is broken or damaged please let me know so it can be fixed or replaced. Minor mishaps will not effect the return of your deposit, I just ask that you take care.
DEPARTURE: Please leave the apartment tidy and respectable with everything back in its place, don’t leave trash or dirty dishes, thanks
