Stay in one of the most magical places in the best neighborhood of Playa del Carmen , Playa Car. You will have a stay surrounded by lush vegetation, the ruins of Playa Car and one of the nicest beaches around situated just 200 mts from the house .
The house is in a very quiet street but close to everything including the 5 th. av (quinta avenida)
The room is very cozy is on the second floor of the house , independent entrance, balcony in wich you can admire alot of the colorfull birds and animal species that live around this area. It has a spacious bathroom, a little electrical kitchenette , fridge , air condicioning, wi - fi and cable.
Outside of the apartament there´s a wide area in wich you can chill reading a book or just having a nice conversation with a friend .
Just a charming place !!
Nadia and her husband got some electrical problem with the house when we arrived but they were really nice to find us a new place to stay and refund us quickly . Thank you again and we hope to may be go back to your place someday !
Nadia's place was a lovely little getaway for us.
It was steps from a gorgeous beach, down a little wooded path. Nadia was sweet and accommodating, and happy to help us when needed. We took longish walks into town, or grabbed a taxi (70pesos each way) -- there were *always* taxis driving by, so it was a very convenient location. We liked being in a beautiful neighborhood out of the main square. The room is comfortable and quiet. Amenities in the room are basic (we brought our own shampoo/toiletries), which was fine for us. We even got to see wildlife right off the back balcony! We had breakfast and watched the deer in the sunshine-- a great start to the morning. This is a great spot for most, and we would happily stay there again.
A couple words of advice: The beach by the house is public, but all the hotels on it are private resorts. You can't eat there if you're not a guest, so plan to take your own snacks/lunch. Also, internet wasn't the fastest, so we did more reading than working. This was good for us anyway, but could be a problem if you were planning a working vacation. Lastly, being near the wildlife means there are birds calling in the morning who probably rise earlier than you do-- bring earplugs :).
Nadia was gracious and helpful upon arrival. I loved the quiet location and enjoyed listening to the surf early in the morning before the sounds of the day took over. There was a problem with utilities which, sadly, required me to relocate. Nadia and Alex were wonderful. They helped me find a place to move, bought me dinner, and drove me to my new location. While Playa del Carmen is probably not my first choice for my next vacation (too busy for me), Nadia and Alex's spot would make me reconsider.
We had a great stay at Nadia's room. Its got an amazing garden view and terrace view. We actually noticed a deer outside one morning. The location is safe and convenient. We would love to visit again!
This place was great. I would be back and recommend whoever wants to have can escape to come to this wonderful place.
The location is great if you prefer the more tranquil Playacar to the buzz around 5th avenue, but the room is not. The standard is very low and the kitchenette is heavily lacking in equipment. The equipment you have is very worn out and it's basically only good for making a basic breakfast.
The A/C is so noisy that you can't have it turned on while being in the room, and even less so when sleeping which means that the room gets too hot at night, and the bed is really small and bad.
Nadia was friendly when we arrived and I suppose she tried to make us comfortable but she just don't understand that a very basic accommodation still needs to be functional and most of all CLEAN.
We smelled something funny when we first came to the room but couldn't figure out what it was. My wife wanted to leave but we decided to stay in the room since we didn't want to spend more precious vacation time to search for and install ourselves someplace else. The second morning when my wife went out to buy breakfast she noticed a dog on the patio. It was old, dirty and smelled like death. Obviously the origin of that "funny smell". However, it's not all that funny when it's a disgusting animal. My wife is not a huge fan of dogs and the ad for this place said nothing about there being one.
We instantly decided to change accommodation and offered Nadia to pay for the following night if we could only get the two remaining nights refunded due to the dog issue. She refused saying that she already turned many possible guests down for our sake. In our opinion this is utter BS. Sure, someone might have asked about this room but we got it for five days on one days notice! We had also decided to overlook the cleanliness, the noisy AC, the lacking kitchenette but the dog was too much and we tried to be reasonable and make a compromise with Nadia. When she refused we even told her that we would write a very negative (but fair) review and still she refused to refund us the two nights. To us, that is neither hospitable nor very professional since her description of the room was not accurate. We strongly advice out fellow airbnb:ers to chose different accommodation when in Playa Del Carmen.
And we strongly urge Nadia to wash her dog every now and then (I doubt it ever has been) and to update her description so that states that she has got pets in her home, even if she usually keeps them locked indoors.
My partner and I stayed in Nadia's apartment for a few days in January 2013 and we had a fantastic time!
Nadia and her partner were so friendly, informative and helpful. The room was as advertised (comfortable and basic) and the location was perfect for those wanting a quieter holiday with the option to join the crowds if wished.
The apartment is far enough away from the main street to enjoy peace and quiet while at home as well as make use of a near-by resort's private beach (5min walk through small rainforest). We were also able to experience the bustling 5th Ave (10min walk away via street or beach) with many shops, bars and restaurants.
Booking day trips and tours was easy, you can book online or with tour companies located on Fifth Ave. Pick ups can be arranged for 'The Reef Hotel' which is only a 2min walk away.
Catching taxi's was easy- many driving past the street the apartment is located on at all hours of the day, only charging a minimal amount to travel within Playa.
If we ever visit Playa again we will be sure to book Nadia's apartment, we loved chatting to her and staying at her place! Thank you for having us!
November 2012. After staying in centre of Playa del Carmen me and my husband decided to move a little bit away from dancing 5th ave and booked this place on a very short notice. Nadia very fasted responded and accepted our stay request. We had no problems to check in and check out at all. A simple exchange of text messages and the deal is done.
Located in Playacar Fase2, its really in between beautiful beach and famous ruins. Very quiet, green place. Close to (forgot the name) park with birds (I recommend to go there and look at amazing flamingos)
Building seems very new and some things were under construction. Seems owners planing to upgrade this place, design a garden and will make everything super nice. We really enjoyed the way it was - simple, small and clean room.
That was a fair deal. We just needed a quiet place to sleep in and we've got it. Water, electricity -works well, WiFi - so so.
Nadia and Alex are friendly and seems very hard working people. We want to wish them best of luck. I would like to get back just to see how they turned this villa to a super villa. Perhaps than it will be expensive, but I am sure they will do it fine.
Good place and location. Nadia and Alexander are friendly and helpful -I would stay there again by chance .. tore
