Great cabin. Is exactly as described. Very quiet neighborhood. Cabin has a wonderful view of Tomales Bay. Centrally located to beaches, Bear Valley visitor center and Pt. Reyes Station. I will stay here again. I recommended this place to several of my friends. Thank you Barbera for such nice accommodations.
The listing is accurate ...and humble. It is a large space and it fit all of us very comfortably as the kids had tons of options to sleep on little foam mattresses (perfect for them). With a patio out back and a large living/dining room area (and back bedroom suitable for kids to be away from the adult chatter- even a crib!) there is plenty of room for a family to sprawl out! We stopped at what we thought was an abandoned house, unable to find the location. Suddenly we realized that we were RIGHT THERE! With so much overgrowth and no yard, we didn't recognize it as inhabited. When we entered and opened the windows to air it out and let out the heat, we were instantly at home and it cooled down beautifully. We COULD NOT BELIEVE the scenery, it is so peaceful and rustic. We took an evening car self-tour up to the light house and it was like being on a safari, we saw turkey vulture flocks, coyotes, at least a hundred deer, elk, bunnies, kittens, big old owls, historic ranches and dairies with herds out grazing! ....And the magnificent beach after a short hike through the hills was breath-taking at the elk preserve end of the Peninsula where 200+ elk were in rut and so fun to watch! If it weren't 3000 miles away we'd be back twice a year! Absolutely lovely!
Now I did have a run-in with a local- after getting back late and not knowing of options for food we stopped at a pub for take-out grilled cheese and chips for the kids. They didn't take plastic but she took my name and said to swing by the next day and pay! That is a little piece of Americana for you!
We didn't contact Barbara for any need, but she was always prompt with replies for any info before the trip, it went seamlessly! Thank you so much Barbara!!!! I love Inverness! My husband said it reminded him of Scotland!
Barbara's place is an Inverness gem. There is a bay view. And, I felt absolutely cozy there. All the essentials were included. Arriving and departing was seamless. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. However, it was too brief. I'll have to go back.
Barbara's cabin is located in a lovely wooded area in close proximity to chicken ranch beach, and minutes away from Point Reyes National Park. The location was ideal. While the googlemap directions are quite confusing, Barbara's instructions helped tremendously. The cabin was full of lots of vintage charm. The full kitchen and full bathroom were greatly appreciated after long days of exploring and hiking.
Fantastic rustic gem! My friends and I really enjoyed our stay, just a stones throw from Chicken Ranch Beach. Spacious and well equipped, the photos don't do it justice. It is showing some wear, but that's part of its charm (and it's priced accordingly, perhaps even a bit too low. Ssh, don't tell Barbara that.)
This cozy ridgetop cabin was just what we were looking for and Barbara's description
was perfect. Quiet, peaceful, with deer off the front deck, a beautiful valley off the rear deck, separate upper loft for the kids - we really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin is centrally located on the point making access to all the park area's quick and easy, both North and South. Kayak rentals for Tomales Bay are very close and the bay looks very much like Inverness in Scotland. The cabin is clean, well built and fully stocked with everything needed. We will recommend Barbara's cozy home to all out AirBnB friends.
We had a wonderful relaxing weekend at the cabin! It was even better than the description on Airbnb. Thank you!
About the Host, Barbara
Trying to retire, love California. Grew up in Northern California. I spent many summers in West Marin, enjoying the sun, sand, and fog. I even learned to swim and sail in the cold waters of Tomales. This house has a special place in my heart. Treat it like your own.
