This is the house our parents built and lived in happily for twenty five years after our dad retired.
Just down the road from the town of Inverness on Inverness Ridge, this house features an open architecture with vaulted ceilings in the combined living room and dining room. Bench seating along the bay windows provides a view of Tomales Bay through the trees, while the back deck is a perfect spot for soaking up afternoon sunshine.
A neighborhood beach is easily accessed just down the hill and many other ocean and bay beaches are just a short drive offering excellent hiking, swimming, bird watching, kayaking, paddle boarding, and many other activities. The Point Reyes Lighthouse and the interpretive center at Bear Valley including a replicate of the Miwok village are great things for kids.
This location is just a couple minutes from Inverness where supplies can be purchased at the Inverness Store and local oysters can be sampled at one of the restaurants. Point Reyes is a fifteen minute drive with additional shopping and dining options.
This home features a master bedroom with a queen bed and a double bed and a loft with an extra long double bed. The galley kitchen is fully stocked with equipment. There is internet service and a TV with a DVD and VCR but no cable. Please note that due to our location the internet connection can be tempermental and that cell phone coverage in the area is limited.
We ask that you bring your own towels unless you are flying in. The beds will be made, when you leave please strip them and leave sheets by the washing machine. Also please make sure you take all the trash out-the grey can is garbage, the blue recycle and they need to be left facing the street. Pick up is Tues am, if you are staying several days.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 5 days of your trip and the first night is non-refundable, but 50% of the cost for the remaining nights will be refunded.
Trying to retire, love California. Grew up in Northern California. I spent many summers in West Marin, enjoying the sun, sand, and fog. I even learned to swim and sail in the cold waters of Tomales. This house has a special place in my heart. Treat it like your own.
