Our host was very accommodating. We are now annual visitors at her lovely home, and she provides our family with an excellent location for a reunion.
The area surrounding Inverness is a wonderful hiking, kayaking and beachcombing wonderland.
And the oysters?! The best!
We BBQ them on the deck at the house.
Barbara was welcoming and flexible - the best kind of host there is! The kitchen was the best part of this house, it was perfect for cooking stocked with all the pots and pans and serving platters you would need for a weekend of cooking and bbq-ing. The downstairs bedroom was comfortable and there was plenty of space in the living area for lounging and hanging out. Barbara pre-warned about a lady bug issue upstairs, but we still needed to use the loft bedroom and just avoided the upstairs restroom. Part of living in the wilderness is coexisting with the natural creatures. Hope this is fixed the next time around.
We had a great time staying at the cabin for a quick getaway from the city. Inverness is a great location, my son rode his bike from the house up to the top of Mt. Vision, down to Limantour Beach, and on other Point Reyes trails, and my partner and I enjoyed some beautiful early spring walks and drives. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and best of all we were able to bring our dog.
About the Host, Barbara
Trying to retire, love California. Grew up in Northern California. I spent many summers in West Marin, enjoying the sun, sand, and fog. I even learned to swim and sail in the cold waters of Tomales. This house has a special place in my heart. Treat it like your own.
