About this listing

This is a private bedroom in our hill top home which is located on 5 wooded acres. The bedroom is on the ground floor adjacent to a private bathroom.

The space

This is a private bedroom in our hill top home located on the ground floor adjacent to a bathroom. Situated on 5 wooded acres just outside of Olympia, this an ideal location at the gateway to the Olympic Peninsula and the Washington Coast. A great place to stay if you are visiting The Evergreen State College, or a quiet retreat for those visiting Olympia.

The room is furnished with antique furniture I recently restored. The iron bed has a feather bed and lofty comforter to make for a cozy rest.
Wi-fi and a large bath will make your visit even more comfortable.

Our driveway is a bit steep, but don't worry, we will send you some navigation tips in the House Rules after you make a reservation.

There will be a light breakfast for you with coffee, whole grain bread, and condiments.

Guest access

There is a large outdoor patio with a table and chairs for guests to enjoy. Guests are also invited to use the living room and eating areas.

Interaction with guests

I have lived in the area for a number of years and can recommend parks, hikes, restaurants and other local areas of interest.

A beautiful home with a kind and generous host. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. Marianne was so warm and welcoming, my wife and I both left saying we felt like we had just visited with family. She endured our rambunctious toddler joyfully and even let us do a couple loads of laundry (a real gift after a week in Olympic National Park!). The house was on an amazing wooded lot, quiet and serene, but with quick access to anywhere in the Olympia area. Coffee, toast with marionberry jam, and a lovely chat started us off on the right foot for our continuing journey the next morning. An all around wonderful visit! Highly recommend.

Want to stay in a beautiful, daylight-filled, quiet place with a delightful host? Then this place is for you. Marianne is very welcoming and sharing of her wonderful home, while respecting your privacy. Very clean & comfortable room and home for your stay. It is out in the country, but still close enough to city attractions.

Marianne is a very friendly and attentive host. She took the time to greet my friend and I and to get to know us. She was very quick to respond to text messages and made sure that we had everything we needed. The house was spotless and well organized, nestled in a beautiful and quiet forest. I would gladly stay here again and would recommend it to anyone!

My 5 year old son and I stayed for a mother's Day getaway together. He LOVED playing with the two dogs outside. Both were great with him. (The dogs were outside and we chose to interact with them.) Clean and quiet home on a wooded property just outside Olympia. Thank you for a lovely getaway!

I stayed for a little over a week at Marianne's house and it was fabulously quiet, secluded and convenient for my trip to explore music venues in and around Olympia, Union and Bremerton. Thank you again Marianne for providing such a comfy home for me to come and go and hang out. Since my stay was long enough that I got to spend time at your house, I appreciate what a nice place it is which enabled me to get a little work done and to relax some while making it my base for daily trips around Washington.

We had the most enjoyable stay at Marianne's home. Because most of the time we are touring we stay in hotels, we decided to change things up on one of our nights off and go airbnb. We are glad we did because we needed a break from hotel rooms. Staying at Marianne's gave us a chance to feel "at home." It was very light and airy in the middle of lush green woods. It is very quiet there and we appreciated the beauty of the neighborhood, taking a long walk down to the water. Marianne was a wonderful host. We highly recommend her airbnb.

I enjoy living in the Pacific NW and I have a lovely home that I would like to share with visitors. I am a public health nurse and have lived in the Olympia area for 25 years.
