  • I stayed at Casa Menta Antigua in late March and had a wonderful stay. Miwa and Kohei were really kind and helpful giving me a list of excellent restaurants, bars and attractions to go and visit. I enjoyed having chats with them and loved eating at the Oriental restaurant they owned – very cute. Thanks guys from making my stay in Antigua such a wonderful one. I loved it so much I am going back!

  • Casa Menta is a cute and comfortable home not so far from Parque Central (city center). We spent four nights here. The room is tiny but clean and there's a lot of free space in the shared living room and patio. The breakfast is frugal but ok if you don't need to eat too much in the morning. The owners are very kind and at your disposal in giving you advices. It worths your money!

  • Such a lovely place to stay. Miwa, Kohei and Jennifer were wonderful and very helpful hosts. A lovely location just 5 minutes from the main square, excellent facilities. Highly recommend.

  • House is located very close to centre of Antigua, (Parque Central), and close to many restaurants.
Miwa helpfully provided us with a map of the area, and had also contacted us prior to arriving to offer us the option of a larger room for the same price.
Lovely garden & rooftop area, relaxed atmosphere. Big, well equipped kitchen, and was really nice having free range eggs, bread and homemade jam for breakfast. Also filtered water a plus.
Would definitely recommend staying here, very positive experience!

  • Our room was a little small but all we did was sleep there and its a good value for the price. They have peaceful, well-decorated shared spaces including a patio and rooftop terrace. Close enough to Parque Central that walking everywhere was easy but far enough away to avoid the night time noise. We also loved having complimentary breakfast items (eggs, toast, coffee, jam) and a well stocked kitchen.
Miwa and Koji were very nice, communicated well and it was a hassle-free experience both before and during our stay. They waited up for us since our flight to GUA didn't get in until 11. Coco - the house dog - is very loving and friendly. Thanks - would definitely recommend to a friend traveling to Antigua.

  • This really is the only place I would stay in Antigua. All in all this was our 4th stay with Miwa and Kohei and it feels like seeing friends.
Their place itself is lovely and so far we have been lucky enough to always secure the private room with en-suite bathroom which we love. Its only a 3 minute walk to the central park but there are tonnes of little places to eat or have coffee in the neighbourhood too. You can use their kitchen and they provide food items for a simple breakfast which can be enjoyed on their roof top terrace or in the living/dining room.
We love it and will come back, I am sure ;)

  • It was a very nice time in Antigua. Miwa is a nice host. With beautiful terrace with view to the vulcan. Nice living room. We felt like home! Thanks!

  • In Antigua there is just one place you have to stay: Casa Menta. I had a very warm welcome in there beautiful house. They really help you out with anything! From arranging an excursion to printing a map so I wouldn't get lost. Thank you very much Miwa and Kohei for the pleasant stay!

  • We ended up staying longer than planned as we liked it so much! The house is beautiful with a lovely lounge, garden and roof terrace to relax in and the wifi works well in these common areas.

Miwa and Kohei were great hosts and gave us our own space but were on hand when we needed any information. Not to mention Jenny who was always so friendly and eager to help out as well! Coco is possibly the most relaxed dog you'll ever meet and always put a smile on our faces!

We really enjoyed our stay here and would thoroughly recommend it. We particularly liked the special touches of the organic toiletry set and do-it-yourself breakfast! Thanks guys for such a great experience!

  • I stayed a week in January at Miwa's and her husband and had a very good experience. There was even more space than I realized from the pictures. A large living room a roof deck and garden. All well kept and nicely decorated. Miwa was very friendly and helpful. She gave good tips on where to go in Antigua. The last night we had dinner with some of the guests and Miwa cooked a Japanese dish. I will have to be back when their restaurant opens!

I am from Tokyo, Japan and currently living in Antigua, Guatemala. I love traveling and meeting new people. I am open to any new ideas. I was taking a year off to travel around the world starting from Canada, Mexico, Belize, and now in Guatemala. I just fell in love with Guatemalan and non-Guatemalan living in Antigua, beautiful buildings, fantastic natures, and the climate, so I stop traveling and started living here. Hope to share the wonderful experience with you!
