Bright Room Near Italian Market

Apartment - Private room · S 6th St, Philadelphia, PA 19147, United States

The Space

Welcome to Philadelphia! We live on the second floor of a large brownstone in South Philly just a couple blocks away from the Italian Market.

The available bedroom is in the rear of the building, so it is nice and quiet. It gets beautiful light in the morning and throughout the day. We have a full-sized bed along with a dresser with an empty drawer for your use.

There is a small flat screen TV and a DVD player in the room. We don't have cable, but do have an eclectic selection of DVDs.

The bathroom is shared with us, but the bedrooms are on opposite ends of the apartment for added privacy. There is a washer/dryer in the apartment that we'd be happy to let you use.

IMPORTANT: Kitchen only available for boiling water, re-heating and storing food. Sorry!

Our neighborhood is in a very walkable section of South Philly just minutes away from Center City -- a nice five to 10 minute stroll to both the famous Italian Market and the trendy East Passyunk area. There are so many awesome places to eat. Also, South Street is a short walk north, about 10 or 15 minutes.

There is also one bike available if you prefer to explore that way! Just ask us for details :)

Parking is usually pretty easy on our street and has no time limits. There are several bus routes just a block or two away that would be very convenient for getting to Center City and any of the historical sights in Old City. The Broad Street subway, which takes you to the sports stadiums and the center, is a 10-minute walk west of our apartment. The best thing about Philly its its walkability factor!

  • Carlene and Sam were the most wonderful hosts! I can't say enough about how much they made my first AirBnB experience such a fantastic experience.

During the planning stages of my trip to Philadelphia, Sam and Carlene responded so graciously and immediately to each of my questions. The accommodations provided were extra nice. There were maps and tourist guides/brochures available in the guest bedroom that really helped me to plan my days in the city.

The bedroom was beautiful and their home is very charming. The neighborhood was very quiet, safe and seemed very family-oriented.

Carlene and Sam made it very convenient to contact them if I had a question or a need during my stay. I'm looking forward to my next visit to Philadelphia and I'm definitely booking my stay with my new-found friends.

  • Staying at Carlene & Sam's was perfect. They have a cute, nicely decorated apartment and my little bedroom was clean and cozy. The bed was really comfortable. Although the room was chilly, the space heater provided warmed it up quickly in the mornings.

They provided some excellent information on activities to enjoy in Philadelphia, which, regrettably, I had no time to go do. The place Carlene recommended for dinner was great, though, only blocks away from my conference and much better than anything I could have found by wandering around on my own.

Helpful hosts, cozy room. All in all, great!

  • Great place. We only stayed for one night and arrived pretty late, but Carlene and Sam made check-in very easy. The room was very clean and enjoyable to stay in.

  • I only stayed with Carlene and Sam for one night, as my travel plans abruptly changed.

Since I arrived a little later in the evening, I didn't get to talk to the girls in the evening, but we made up for that the next morning. They offered me coffee, called a cab for me, and were really understanding of my cancellation (I was supposed to stay three nights and only could stay one)

The room is spacious and with full of lovely decorations. It's a short walk away from the Italian Market, and there are two bus-stations close by. A few blocks away are nice cafés and bars.

I'm looking forward to staying with Sam and Carlene the next time I'm in Philly!

  • Carlene & Sam were the perfect hosts, easy going and very helpful! The room had the perfect size and was nice & clean! Within a short walk you could reach Philly's Magic Gardens, the Italian Market as well as Sam's Morning Glory Diner! We enjoyed our stay a lot!

    Thank's a lot!!
