The Space

Secluded cabin located on 10 acres in Johnsburg, NY, about 3.5 hours north of New York City. The cabin is surrounded by hundreds of vacant acres with trails. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and living room with wood stove and HDTV with DVD (no cable), as well as wireless internet. Backyard has a lean-to and hot tub on a platform under the stars, as well as a firepit for camp fires. Other amenities include central air and heat. Great for a family or two couples traveling together, as one floor has one bedroom and one bathroom and upstairs has another two bedrooms and one bathroom.

There is a full sized bed in the master bedroom, and 4 twin beds, with 2 in each of the upstairs bedrooms. The futon in the living room folds out to a queen sized bed if you want more room.

There are terrific restaurants in North Creek, NY, as well as a full service grocery store, drug store and liquor store.

There is white water rafting nearby, as well as downhill and cross country skiing and tubing. Great hiking at nearby Crane Mountain, and swimming at beautiful Garnet Lake

  • Area was great and so was the cabin it was perfect to get away and relax the cabin had internet and Roku which was pleasant surprise since in that area cell phone service and wifi can be scarce. All in all I would stay again and I would definitely recommend this cabin.

  • We had a wonderful weekend at Steve's cabin in the Adirondacks and I would definitely recommend it.
Our party included six people (two couples and two singles) and we all slept comfortably. The cabin was cosy, with a great wood stove and a beautiful dining room table for shared meals.
If you are travling in the winter, I would definitely recommend the excellent cross country skiing nearby.
One note: the photo that accompanies the listing is taken from the back of the house, showing the yard and the hot tub. The house itself is actually closer to the road. This isn't a problem (there is very little traffic) but we found it a little confusing when trying to find the house when we arrived after dark.

  • Our stay at Steve's cabin was exactly what my husband and I were looking for. The cabin and surrounding area was peaceful and beautiful, the perfect place to unplug and relax. Communication with the host was great and upon arrival there was a lot of appreciated information available pertaining to the cabins amenities and the happenings in the area. I would definitely stay at Steve's cabin again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking (email hidden) to get away!

  • Steve was very helpful and cabin was a great get away. Hot tub was fun, very dark so you can see the stars really well. Lots of wood for wood burning stove. House was well decorated. Would love to go back.

  • Steve was an excellent host, very helpful and easy to work with. He provided suggestions about places to visit nearby, and the cabin and surrounding area was exactly as listed. The cabin is about a 15 minute drive from Gore Mountain, making its location very enticing for skiers. The hot tub right outside the cabin provides for a really fun and relaxing experience. I would not hesitate to stay by one of Steve's cabins again.

  • Steve's Cabin was an absolute treat. Its a very beautiful cabin and super cozy. We really enjoyed our stay, especially the wood burning stove on a snowy day! Steve was a pleasure to work with. He offered us ideas on what to do but was respectful and didn't bug us. We will for sure be coming back and staying at this adorable gem in the Adirondaks! Thank you Steve for allowing us to use your cabin.

  • Steve's cabin was beautiful and exactly as advertised. It felt cozy for two people but could easily sleep more. We had a lovely time playing chess in front of the fireplace, cooking and watching the stars from the hot tub. I would definitely come back for another weekend retreat!

  • The cabin's nice, great location. Don't forget to bring sheets and towels. Otherwise you need to drive a half hour to a Family Dollar.

My wife and I love to share our cabin with other families looking to get themselves and/or their kids outside to explore and play. We bought our first cabin when our boys were babies and raised them with a healthy appreciation for weekends in the country. We like to share our cabins with families looking to make the same kinds of memories as we wanted to with our kids.
