Stunning, open, airy modern private home with amazing views. Very large sliding glass doors open to a large deck. Perched on a hill and surrounded by trees. Hardwood floors, built in cabinets + modern design. Fun, hip, and relaxed neighborhood.
Artist's studio perched in the hills among the trees. This is a single unattached studio - up 3 flights of stairs - on the top of a hill. It is open and airy, with high ceilings, hardwood floors, and large windows.
Located in the heart of Los Angeles, while surrounded by trees and greenery. Amazing views of the mountains from large sliding glass doors. The sliding glass doors open onto large wrap-around deck with gas grill. Studio has a full size Murphy Bed, an open kitchen, and a fast wireless connection. Designed by artist/resident and an architect who worked for years with Frank Gehry. Decorated with art, nice furniture, and good books.
Centrally located in Elysian Park Heights--right next to Echo Park and Silver Lake, Atwater Village, 10-minute drive to downtown, Hollywood, Burbank, Los Felix.
Tree lined, friendly, safe, and diverse neighborhood with tons of character. It is filled with artists, locally run cafes, shops, hipster bars, and excellent food and drinks--from taco trucks to local and sustainable haute cuisine to nearby farmers markets on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, to small wine and cheese shops.
A 15-minute walk through the hills and winding staircases takes you to nearby Elysian Park, a quintessential LA experience -- a rural/urban park with lots of great trails, LA's oldest park, and it's 2nd largest.
For art lovers, nearby you will find MOCA, the Geffin Contemporary, RedCat, Machine Project, Echo Park Film Center and more. 20 minutes to LACMA. Without traffic in a 1/2 hour you can get to the Hammer Museum and the Getty Center.
It's 10 minutes to Little Tokyo, Chinatown, and 1/2 hour off peak gets you to the beach. For those who want to use public transportation, there is a bus stop down the street.
I know the neighborhood well, have lived here happily for 16 years, and can give you tips and suggestions.
Plenty of easy and safe street parking. Washer and dryer, Gas grill on large deck.
It is a walk up about 45 steps to get to my place -- about the equivalent of 3 flights of stairs, though it is not straight up or particularly steep, and there are platforms. Still, if you're not in shape, that's a lot of stairs. I've lived here for a while and don't notice it but it is not for everyone.
There are large windows in the studio. It is private and designed with no window shades for openness and beautiful views, so light does come in in the morning.
Also, the place is simple, minimal and spare. I love it, and love living in it, but I also love living simply. I provide clean sheets, towels, and my studio will be clean, but its simplicity is not for those looking for 4 star hotel luxury. It's a working artist's studio, and hopefully you'll stay here if you enjoy the pleasure of that.
The price includes tax- no surprises later!
This is a much loved and well cared for home, so please treat it the same.
There is no smoking in the studio, but smokers can lounge on the large deck.
The house was great, the view was better than in the pictures. It was clean and functional. Nothing was missing and everything we needed was already there.
Our finest recommendations - Natalie's place is very nice and we would surely considered staying there again.
Second time using airbnb and it still surpasses my expectations! The place was adorable and for an unbeatable rate! And it was so easy and convenient to book and everything that I needed was easy to find and the place was absolutely adorable. I loved every aspect of it!!
Natalie's studio was amazing! There is a certain charm that you get when you first enter the studio, this place is very warm and feels like home. We enjoyed sitting on the wrap around deck and taking in the spectacular views every morning. The neighborhood had a hip/artsy vibe and is centrally located to all that LA has to offer.
I highly recommend this studio without any hesitation!
The studio was just as pictured with an incredible view and communication with Natalie was great. Overall a fantastic experience!
Natalie's studio is amazing! It is just as it appears in the listing--airy, modern yet rustic, an efficient living space, but not at all cramped. The view of the hills is breath-taking! It was such a great place to sleep because we were able to keep the windows open and listen to all the nature sounds around us. (You do hear the highway as well, but it's a distant, white-noise sound and was actually soothing.) Although there are houses all around, every house is at a different level, so you're not looking into other people's homes and vice versa. We were visiting friends all around the east side, so this was a perfect home base. It's remote enough to be in a quiet neighborhood, while also giving you easy access to freeways and local Echo Park and Silverlake hot spots. We had no issues while we were staying at the studio and enjoyed every minute we were there. The bottled water and chocolates were a thoughtful touch. We would definitely visit the studio again when visiting LA!
My stay at Natatlie's hillside studio exceeded all expectations! The apartment was everything I needed for my stay in LA; amazing views, cool neighborhood, relaxing... all around perfect! I hope to stay there every time I'm in LA. Natalie and her assistant were super accommodating and helpful with all questions leading up to my stay!
I am an artist and videomaker who teaches at Calarts in Los Angeles. This year I am teaching at Rutgers University in New Jersey, and my husband and I are renting an apartment in Brooklyn, so my beautiful studio in Los Angeles is available for guests.
