Artist's studio perched in the hills among the trees. This is a single unattached studio - up 3 flights of stairs - on the top of a hill. It is open and airy, with high ceilings, hardwood floors, and large windows.
Located in the heart of Los Angeles, while surrounded by trees and greenery. Amazing views of the mountains from large sliding glass doors. The sliding glass doors open onto large wrap-around deck with gas grill. Studio has a full size Murphy Bed, an open kitchen, and a fast wireless connection. Designed by artist/resident and an architect who worked for years with Frank Gehry. Decorated with art, nice furniture, and good books.
Centrally located in Elysian Park Heights--right next to Echo Park and Silver Lake, Atwater Village, 10-minute drive to downtown, Hollywood, Burbank, Los Felix. Tree lined, friendly, safe, and diverse neighborhood with tons of character. It is filled with artists, locally run cafes, shops, hipster bars, and good food and drinks--from taco trucks to local and sustainable haute cuisine to nearby farmers markets on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, to small wine and cheese shops.
A 15-minute walk through the hills and winding staircases takes you to nearby Elysian Park, a quintessential LA experience -- a rural/urban park with lots of great trails, LA's oldest park, and it's 2nd largest.
For art lovers, nearby you will find MOCA, the Geffin Contemporary, RedCat, Machine Project, Echo Park Film Center and more. 20 minutes to LACMA. Without traffic in a 1/2 hour you can get to the Hammer Museum and the Getty Center.
It's 10 minutes to Little Tokyo, Chinatown, and 1/2 hour off peak gets you to the beach. For those who want to use public transportation, there is a bus stop down the street.
I know the neighborhood well, have lived here happily for many years, and can give you tips and suggestions.
Plenty of easy and safe street parking. Washer and dryer, Gas grill on large deck.
It is a walk up about 45 steps to get to my place -- about the equivalent of 3 flights of stairs, though it is not straight up or particularly steep, and there are platforms. Still, if you're not in shape, that's a lot of stairs. I've lived here for a while and don't notice it but it is not for everyone.
There are large windows in the studio. It is private and designed with no window shades for openness and beautiful views, so light does come in in the morning.
Also, the place is simple, minimal and spare. I love it, and love living in it, but I also love living simply. I provide clean sheets, towels, and my studio will be clean, but its simplicity is not for those looking for 4 star hotel luxury. It's a working artist's studio, and hopefully you'll stay here if you enjoy the pleasure of that.
The price includes tax- no surprises later!
I loved staying at Natalie's Private studio! She was so hospitable and her assistant greeted me as I arrived at her place. The studio was very clean, modern, comfortable and close to everything! The layout made the stay very relaxing & cozy plus the view was amazing! This place is perfect! Thanks again for everything Natalie! Hope to see you next time I'm in Los Angeles! I'll definitely be back! :)
Great place with a great view! Fantastic location with very accessible amenities nearby. We wish we could have stayed there longer! The flight of stairs might not be the best for older guests, but we had minimum problems with it.
Great location in general, and we had an excellent time there. Highly recommended for fellow travellers who need to spend some time in Los Angeles.
This is a fantastic place -- to read, to write, to listen to music, or to just look out of the window from the cozy sofa. Great terrace. I would return anytime.
Natalie and her assistant were amazing hosts. They were of great help and made our LA trip seamless. Natalie's space is amazing and welcoming. We didn't want to leave!
Natalie was the best host anyone could ever ask for! Unfortunately, I was unable to meet her but she provided me with so much information without me having to ask!!! Also, when I did have questions, she responded within 5 minutes!!! The place is perfect for two people and has a beautiful view! If you love nature and waking up to the sound of birds chirping, this is the perfect escape for you - so relaxing!!! What a amazing experience - my only regret is that I did not stay longer. Thank you Natalie, I will be back!!!
I ended up having emergency oral surgery while in LA and, thus, had to lie around in bed much more than I hoped or anticipated. Here's the point: I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything because I love this home so much! The bed was so comfortable and the views from anywhere in the house (or on the massive deck) were just stunning. This pad is so well appointed and positioned within the city. It was perfect! Natalie took care of everything before we arrived and we were left wanting for nothing all week. I will certainly be back! Thank you, Natalie!
This hillside studio was wonderful. My boyfriend and I came here for a long weekend and the spot was great for getting out and exploring the various neighborhoods in LA - not to mention that the street and hillside of this studio are also great for exploring. The studio was a true delight. I loved waking up to the view and the light in the apartment was perfect for spending a few cozy hours on the couch reading.
Awesome place, couldn't have found a better room for the price if I tried. There's a kitchen and bathroom (remodeled with beautiful white tile), along with a cozy bed. There's no ac or heater, but there is both a space heater and an air unit that more than take care of the job. Part of what sets this place apart is the warm, homely atmosphere, like you're staying at your favorite summer getaway home from when you were a kid. But let's get real here, the main draw is the stunning view and balcony. The balcony, which is huge, overlooks part of LA, and is fitted with a BBQ to boot. I ate dinner with my girlfriend on the balcony and it was beyond perfect.
Wonderful tree-top aerie in a romantic neighborhood of Los Angeles. A great place to stay for those who like to wake up with the sun and end the day relaxing with a glass of wine on the amazing deck, watching the ever-changing play of light on the distant mountains. This is the LA equivalent of a Parisian artist's garret and best enjoyed by those of a sympathetic mindset.
Natalie is an accommodating host, responding quickly to all inquiries and making sure our visit was without worry. We would most definitely return for another stay.
first time to use ASIBNB and living Natalie's house, it's very nice and friendly experience. Everything is quickly and directly, you don't need ask for how to use and next, Airbnb and Natalie can handle them for you.
next time I will choose same way when I going to LA.
