About This Listing
Just a short walk to the centre of Portree, Tigh Na Coille, Bed & Breakfast offers quiet, comfortable accommodation with shops, restaurants, pubs, bus station, library, bank and the harbour, all within easy reach.
Tigh Na Coille offers three guest bedrooms; one double, one twin and a single/small double.
All rooms have access to tea & coffee making facilities and their own TV with digital channels and dvd player.
Tigh Na Coille provides comfortable, clean accommodation, offers free internet and secure off-street parking.
Bedrooms are NOT en-suite but the two clean, modern bathrooms provide ample facilities to enable easy sharing between the three guest rooms. Guests have a choice between a long, hot soak in our downstairs bathroom or a quick steamy shower in our upstairs shower room. Facilities are checked throughout the day to ensure they are constantly clean and tidy.
The kitchen area is off limits to guests but a microwave and fridge are provided in our guest lounge and dinner ware can be provided for those who request it.
Guests are encouraged to help themselves to books, dvds and games that they find in the hallway and guest lounge. You will also find extra information about things to do and see on Skye in the guest lounge.
Interaction with Guests
I like to make my guests as relaxed as possible and help in any way that I can to make their visit to the Isle of Skye most enjoyable.
Every person is different and I like to think I can tell if a guest wants to be left to their own devices or if they need some help with regards to getting the most out of their stay on the island.
I am happy to offer suggestions about places of interest or tour guides/trips/walks. Whether you are a keen walker, a food or whisky enthusiast, researching your family history, taking in the museums and castles, or you want to watch the abundant wildlife – it’s all here for the asking in this truly beautiful part of the world.
This is my home and I live on the premises. I also have a job and therefore cannot be available at all times but can easily be contacted. Guests have their own set of keys and can come and go as they please throughout their stay.
I am very flexible with regards to checking in times. I prefer to check in guests after 4pm but am happy for those who need to leave luggage to do so before this time….or even after they have checked out if they are waiting a long time for buses etc.
I have two dogs on the premises but they are never allowed in the guest rooms and I make a conscious effort to keep them behind closed doors whilst guests are around. They are both very friendly and I am happy to introduce them to any fellow dog lovers.
Anyone travelling to Skye by public transport should try their best to research how they intend to get around on the island as not all places are easily accessible by local bus.
There are car hire companies in Portree and tour guides and taxis. We are more than happy to provide details of each and advise those who are not sure of their options.
Guests should let us know their estimated time of arrival. Check out is by 10am.
Our kitchen is not for guest use but if you have anything that needs kept in the fridge we are happy to help.
Guests staying for more than one evening will be provided with keys and are welcome to come and go as they please.
We do ask that whilst exiting and entering our driveway, if the gates are closed please close them again behind you. If they are open then just leave them open.
We had a great 3 night stay at Emma's home. The living room and bedrooms were comfortable and clean, with basic amenities such as towels were provided. The bathroom was clean, but there was only one shower room between the 4 of us. A large breakfast (includes a full English, Cereals, Bread, Juices and Coffee/Tea) was provided every morning and it provided a great start to every morning.
The home is suitably located, with a 10 minute walk to the Town Centre. There's also a Co-op supermarket and gas station nearby.
Emma was very welcoming and helpful in providing advice on Portree and Skye.
Emma's house is lovely. The two
Bedrooms are warm and comfortable. Breakfast is nice! La maison d'Emma est rolie, je vous la recommandes. Emma家布置温馨，早餐丰盛！
Fantastic stay at Emma's B&B. The house is furnished perfectly and is warm and toasty when you arrive. It is extremely central and Emma (and her dogs) are very lovely. We would absolutely love to stay here again.
This house is really good!!!It is near the city center, just about 5 minutes walk. Moreover, there is a big supermarket near the house. The house is warm, clean and Emma prepared for us delicious breakfast. If i have a chance to go back to the Portree, i will still choose this house.

About the Host, Emma
I have been a bit of a worldwide traveller in my time but still haven't visited everything on my wish list. A lot of places I have been to I want to go back to again - Argentina & New Zealand are definitely up there.
I often visit America and have some great friends there, especially in New Orleans and Washington state. I usually go over every year to visit and get away for the Scottish winter!
My dogs are a big part of my life and I love them to bits.....too much apparently, but they are adorable and make me laugh. I have an English Springer Spaniel (Myla) and a red and white Irish Setter (Rudy). They are never allowed in the guest rooms and are kept to our own private rooms when we have people staying with us.
I have worked in the Portree tourist information centre for five seasons and am more than happy to help anyone needing some ideas or wanting to plan a certain trip or walk. If guests have everything figured out for their time on Skye and just need a place to lay their heads in between sight seeing then we are more than happy to leave them to it and be there if they need anything else.
We just like our guests to feel comfortable and happy whilst staying in our home.
Gym, pool, climbing wall, leisure activities.
Great place for live & traditional music. Music here most nights, even during the week.
Lovely, quality gifts or something for yourself.
Great for quality outdoor clothing and anything you may need if the weather isn't as you expected!
Excellent coffee and lovely menu which changes every day.
Excellent seafood restaurant.
