NOTE THAT WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING RENOVATION ON THE 3RD FLOOR SO NOISE AND WORKERS CAN BE EXPECTED DURING DAYTIME HOURS.

Be our guest in a private room of this spacious & beautiful century house in one of Canada's most intact pre-1930 residential areas. The house is beautifully renovated and upgraded with all amenities.
It is a quiet, central, & safe neighbourhood adjacent to downtown with many character homes and parks. The city centre is only 2 km away, approximately 5 minutes by car or an easy walk. The bus runs very frequently and stops at the top of the street. We are right off the Trans Canada and parking is free.
Everything in the house can be used while you're here.
Most notably: Wifi, laundry facilities, awesome kitchen, calling throughout North America, 1 bicycle&lock, canoe/lifejackets/paddles, and toboggans/sleds.
**We are a young, married, professional couple.**
We are especially laid-back & welcoming, although often not at home due to work. So it's likely that we won't see much of each other and you might have the place to yourself (self check in is common with our guests). Other times, schedules allow us to pull up a chair, visit awhile and enjoy some good company...
Everything you will need is placed in a logical place & one of us is ALWAYS available by phone/text for any information about the house or city.

Great Experience. Hosts were very welcoming and the space was just what I needed. Would definitely stay there again!
Chris & Reesa were amazing hosts. I was very new to Canada and Chris helped us a lot in knowing the place. He actually took us for rides through the city and took us for some grocery shopping. They are a great family, we felt at home. And not to forget xooom, he's very friendly and we enjoyed playing with him.
The house is located very close to downtown making it accessible to everything.
I would highly recommend to stay with these super hosts and have an awesome experience.
I had a wonderful experience staying at Kris and Lisa's. Their house is very cozy and warm. They are very accommodating and friendly. They provide a detailed house manual with explanations, maps, etc., of what a traveler may find helpful/useful upon arriving to a new city. Great location in a feel-good neighbourhood!
Since the first time I changed some emails with Kris and Lisa, I was quite sure it will be such great deal! And they didn't let me down!
Great location, nearby several groceries and restaurants, easily accessible from/to the airport and several points of interests, and mainly such a lovely quiet and peaceful district, although it is located on the block between Portage Avenue which is the main arteria of the town. Besides, for the walking lovers just like me, there are two scenic route walking tour described by the hosts which were pretty. It is worth undergoing these walkings. You will certainly not regret it!
Kris and Lisa also provides a complete file featuring all necessary things during the stay: the aforementioned recommended walking tours, restaurants and groceries nearby, transit system, etc, it is really impressive and amazing their jobs on it!
Last but not least, their house is cozy and looks great, full of facilities available for everything. It is very clean and Internet also worked out pretty good.
Last but no least, as soon as I got the booking info they provided me already full info aboutu stay, access, so on and the communication surpassed all my expectation. Thanks once
More for having me and such hospitality!
The house was in a good location, and the price was good as well. However, there are 3 rooms they rent out and none of the bedroom doors have locks. So I was concerned other guests would go through my things. Also the house was very, very hot in July with no air conditioning and being located on 2nd floor. The bed sloped toward the wall. The mattress was uncomfortable and the bed squeaked very loudly even with very little movement. The shared bathroom was messy from other guest's dirty towels and personal belongings, but the tub, toilet, floorboards were very dirty like they hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. I had to clean up towels from other guest when she left and put them in her room. The host was a very, very nice person and his parents next door were very kind as well. However, I felt like previous reviewers maybe weren't honest about the state of cleanliness or noise level because the host was so nice.
We feel like Wendy wasn’t honest with herself, nor fair to us, in confusing five star Airbnb ratings with that of a five star hotel.
Perhaps she has some misplaced attributions and expectations, both about our listings as well as Airbnb in general.
As stated in our listing, the house is shared (and there is a municipal bylaw which forbids locking guest rooms), we opt not to use the air conditioning (because of having to contend with sub-arctic conditions 8 months of the year), and we are often absent, working out of town. These factors, amoungst others, preclude us from being able to constantly appease misconstrued guest expectations whilst offering accommodation for $25/person/night. Moreover, Wendy was asked in-person throughout her stay if anything at all could have been better yet she denied as much multiple times, thereby not giving us the opportunity to address her concerns.
Lisa and Kris were great hosts! They were very welcoming to my brother and his 3 friends who were there to attend the Women's World Cup. They came back with lots of positive feedback including that Lisa and Kris were very hospitable and very accommodating. The home was under renovations as they warned however everything was neat and comfortable. They even kept in contact with the group to make sure everyone was comfortable and even sent my brother a very sweet email upon their departure. Hosts like this are hard to find.
