  • If you haven't been to Pui O yet, give it a go. Really cool beachside community where one weekend will introduce you to about half the neighborhood. Jay's place fit right in with the casual beach vibe, and he was great to communicate with. I'd recommend it. Thanks so much, Jay.

  • My 2 friends and I stayed at Jay's place for three nights and we are really glad to be away from the hustle and bustle of the main island. The house is clean and beautifully contemporary and Jay has been very helpful to make sure our stay is comfortable. The only hassle of having to take a bus and ferry to reach the main island is nothing compared to the peace, privacy and space that we have enjoyed. Thank you Jay!

  • The place is more or less as described. Basic amenities. Nice surrounding once you get out of the village. Pretty big issue with the toilet flush but I was told by the host that I was not used to "Asian" toilet…
Ok if you look for a place to crash with friends after a long day outside but I would not really recommend it if you stay with family, or if you look for comfort.
Just another detail, the new restaurant in town does not actually offer tapas

  • The house is extremely clean and is conveniently located within a short walk of Pui O Beach, which is lifeguarded and features some of HK's best water quality. Accommodations are simple but rather comfortable for a village house. The house itself is up a few small sets of stairs, set away from the main road. On the way to the beach you can see local wild water buffalo and brown cows. There are also many cute village dogs. The village is a mixture of local residents and foreigners, with many beach/tourist-focused shops, so you will feel totally comfortable even if you have never been to HK before. Wifi internet is fast and reliable. I would recommend bringing bug repellent and applying it before you go to sleep. There is some standing water in the area and as a result there are some mosquitoes. There are many air conditioners and a couple heaters in the house and you should find it comfortable at any time of year. The host, Jay, lives locally and was easily reachable by phone. He met us at the bus stop near the house and showed us into the house.

  • We stayed in Jays house four weeks, even extending our stay. Great house in great getaway location. Recommended!

  • Jay's cute little house - decked out with loads of plants - is a good size for a couple escaping urban HK for a weekend or longer, and Jay is a very helpful and knowledgeable host. Just note the beds (2) are a little small, and bring mosquito repellent (though that applies for all of rural HK...). All in all a very pleasant stay.

  • Great and welcoming house in a nice small village away from the busy city. We spent a few very relaxing days in this place, enjoying the wonderful island of lantau…
A really nice place to be if you enjoy the countryside, the beach or the mountains…

Thanks to jay for letting us stay in this wonderful house

Hi I am Jay and I'm a eco-designer based in Hong Kong. I have designed an amazing living space that I would love to share with travelers who are looking for a unique living experience in Hong Kong! Both listings have their own private beach and nature plus lots of clean air to breathe! The house by the beach has spring water connection and living wall gardens are up on both listings. Enjoy! :)
