Beautiful, spacious and cozy home in the heart of the national historic Sam Hughes neighborhood in Tucson! Enjoy comfort, fine furnishings, & outdoor living space within walking and short driving distance of the U of Arizona and Tucson's attractions!
(Street view is nearby, not exact. (website hidden) street view is outdated for this property.)
Recently renovated and beautifully furnished 3BR, 2 BA home in the heart of the historic Sam Hughes neighborhood. Within walking distance of beautiful parks, stores, restaurants and the University of Arizona and its museums and offerings. Within short driving/taxi distance of first class day spas, golf, tennis, sports, hiking and diverse Tucson attractions.
The home is very open and offers a lot of light. Ideal for 2 couples or a couple with a friend/s or small family who wish to enjoy some time in Tucson. The living space is open to the kitchen and dining area. Depending on the party, it sleeps 4 to 6 comfortably. One bedroom offers a queen sized bed. The second offers a full to queen sized (It is a queen but one guest suggested it is not adequate for two larger people). The third bedroom also serves as an office for those who need to work on the road, and also has a single couch or blowup bed.
There is a garage and outdoor parking space for one or two cars.
The style is modern with beautiful wood ceilings and exposed logs in the living area.
The outdoor living space is private (surrounded by adobe wall and gates) and spacious. We are in the process of planting indigenous plants and adding special touches to the outdoor space. There are mountain views from the front patio and BR/office.
The Sam Hughes neighborhood is on the national historic register and is perfect for morning and evening walks. Within 1-2 blocks each way is a corner market for coffee and convenient shopping, a pub and Tucson Tamale, the best tamales in the city! The University of Arizona is also a short 10-15 minute walk and offers museums, the arts, music and other attractions, including sporting events in the PAC-12 at the highest level of collegiate sports.
Tucson public transit is excellent and accessible.
The home is unique in many respects, but mostly due to the openness, light, exposed wood and log in a traditional southwestern adobe home. It is also well situated to all attractions, from day spas such as Miraval and Canyon Ranch to first class golf courses and hiking trails in Sabino Canyon.
p.s. While one week is the minimum stay, I will consider long weekends of 4 night minimum stays at a slightly higher price.
Guests have full access to the house, including the front patio, back yard and driveway.
Interaction with Guests
The guests have sole access to the house during their stay. I am involved only in check in and check out.
The neighborhood, Sam Hughes, is a lovely historic neighborhood. It is beautiful for walks, has easy access to a neighborhood grocer (Rincon Market), restaurants by foot or car and is walking distance to the University of Arizona and its many attractions. It is also centrally located to ever attraction in the Tucson area.
There is easy public transit and while convenient to have a car, depending on the purpose of your trip, you can choose not to have a car.
Other Things to Note
It's a lovely property with all amenities and you will feel at home and very comfortable.
No pets. No smoking inside the house. Please take care of home as you would take care of your home that you wish to remain in excellent condition. We require a cleaning service after each rental but please clean up after yourself so that cleaning is surface cleaning. We expect guests to report any problem or damage immediately.
We had a great stay in the log cabin - it's very comfortable and spacious. Great place to come home to after a day of exploring Tucson! The house has been updated recently with all new appliances, bathroom fixtures, etc. Everything works great. It's really big with two large bedrooms, big living room & kitchen, and an office/den. There's a nice barbeque out back that we used for a family cookout. The place looks exactly like the photos, it's right in the middle of town, and the owner/manager is really responsive. Highly recommended!
House location really didn't have a "neighborhood" feel but was convenient to the area and easily located. It was clean and well maintained, inside and out and looked "cool" on the inside because of all the wood. Electronics all worked well and house instructions were clear and simple. Communication with the owner was easy and pleasant. Routine supplies/staples were more than adequate. A good place for those who need a solid home base from which to pursue and recover from adventures.
Thanks, Bruce! Glad you enjoyed the house and your stay. The home is located in the historic Sam Hughes neighborhood of Tucson, and depending on activities, on foot or by bike, one can easily explore the beautiful local neighborhood, the local delis, shops and restaurants, Himmel Park, U of A, etc., and by car one can easily and quickly get to local attractions, including spectacular hiking, world class golf courses and spas, etc. Thanks again for being a guest at the Log Cabin!
We enjoyed the stay very much. Laura was very helpful and responsive. The house was super comfortable, nicely appointed, and everything was clean and in good condition. Nice patio area for outdoor sitting. Great location close to campus.
What an excellent place! It was very much as described and shown in the photos. The home was also fully stocked for cooking and grilling on the back porch, which really made it feel like home. We also really enjoyed the built-in sound system! Check-in and out with Sarah was very easy as well. Overall, a wonderful, comfortable stay in a great location.
The agent Susan was extremely helpful and pleasant and gave us wonderful suggestions of things to do and places to go.
We had a wonderful time at the cozy log cabin. The house is well located on a quiet street, and well equipped with everything one needs to relax!! Thank you for your hospitality.
I am from NJ, currently live in DC and Tucson. I like to travel, workout, enjoy running and my dog and all dogs and animals. I enjoy the beach in the summer, mountains in the winter, and the beauty of nature as well as the energy of great cities. I love great live music and good theater and good food is important to me as well! When I travel I like to be very active but then have a comfortable place to rest. I treat hosts' homes as I would my own and expect the same of guests in my home.
