The Volcano is flowing! Pahoa is in jeopardy because the flow is dividing the little city right down the middle. Come and see Kileaua in action. Book your reservations in the Bali Hut and experience this act of nature. Madame Pele welcomes you.
The Balihut is located in a tropical setting of a forrested Ohia Grove on a 1 acre Gated property in Leilani Estates on the Big Island of Hawaii. 10 feet off the ground puts the Balihut up in the tall Ohia trees and Tropical Vegetation.
Pahoa and Puna are ecclectic and still has the old Hawaii Charm. Strictly off the tourist radar, this is one of Hawaii's best kept secrets. Abundant with attractions including volcanos, surfing beaches and hot ponds this is a must for the adventurer with an affordable budget.
This is a hut in the trees, comfortable, clean and exotic.
Feels very secluded, was a comfortable place to stay for a night. Open-air outdoor bathroom was kinda fun.
The Bali hut was so nice !! We really enjoy to have the traquility that we fine there ! Dickie was a good host she helped us a bit to find good place to go and she take care of us. Thx for everything (tu es super sympatique et la bali hut est tout simplement adorable !!!)
I stayed 6 nights in the tree hut on a recent solo trip to the big island. The tree hut was absolutely amazing; exactly as described by Dickie. As an avid camper and backpacker, I found the amenities to be adequate. If you're a person that likes air conditioning and lots of other "extras" found in more traditional lodging, this might not be the space for you. But I found the bed comfortable, the outdoor hot shower delightful, and the electricity and wi-fi added bonuses. With the ceiling fan, I was more than comfortable even without AC. Many reviewers have commented about how loud the coqui frogs are. They are quite loud, but I had no problem sleeping without earplugs. If you're used to sleeping outside on camping trips, you should be fine! I found their song to be lovely and the rhythm put me to sleep every night. There were some bugs, but there was a nice candle in the hut that seemed to do a good job of keeping them away--I didn't use spray the whole time I was there! Dickie is a great host with just the right amount of contact. We chatted briefly when I arrived; I had a question while I was there and she responded very quickly. This is an absolutely magical place and was a great base from which I had adventures all over the big island. Mahalo Dickie for sharing this amazing place!
Extremely unique and memorable experience! Living among the frogs and geckos was the coolest. I went to take a shower and all of a sudden I was part of a National Geographic special on geckos and frogs. There's 2 geckos that live in the shower/outdoor bathroom area. Vibrant green with a red paw print looking pattern on their back. Frogs everywhere. If you don't mind a small space and limited amenities, it's definitely worth staying a night or 2 for the experience. I will say that Mosquitos find their way in so make sure you bring repellant.
As far as locatio goes, you're striking distance to volcano park, lava tubes, waterfalls, and a naturally hot ocean pool with tropical fish (including puffers!) to look at. Bring a snorkel and rent a car. The host, Dickie, was super nice. The treehouse was very private so no issues at all as far as that goes.
The treehouse was so cozy and simple! Dickie was the best, giving us great recommendations for local swim spots. Even has a hot shower, stove and coffee! Would absolutely recommend
