This is a high-end serviced apartment, delicately designed and decorated. The apartment is equipped air conditioning, TV (with Cable), wireless internet, refrigerator, microwave oven, washing machine, and more.
The location is simply superb, conveniently surrounded by a network of transportation options, right near the Grand Theater MTR Station, and only 5 minutes (by taxi) from the Luohu Port and Train Station (to Hong Kong).
In the area, you're surrounded by commercial skyscrapers (the 100-storey KingKey Financial Center, and the 384 meters tall Diwang Building), big shopping malls (Shirble Department Store, KK Mall), and a variety restaurants, pubs, and food stalls.
A little bit more about Shenzhen: Shenzhen is a major city in the south of Southern China's Guangdong Province, situated immediately north of Hong Kong. The area became China's first—and one of the most successful—Special Economic Zones (SEZs). Shenzhen is now considered one of the fastest-growing cities in the world.
Shenzhen's major tourist attractions include the Chinese Folk Culture Village, the Window of the World, Happy Valley, Splendid China, the Safari Park in Nanshan district, the Dameisha Promenade, Xiaomeisha Beach Resort in Yantian district, Zhongying Jie/Chung Ying Street, Xianhu Lake Botanical Garden, and Minsk World. Some tourists, however, choose to stay in a largely expatriate and exotic residential community called Shekou, home to a large French cruise liner cemented into the ground called Sea World.
The location is good, especially if you need to be close to the border with HK. 7-8 minute walk to the metro depending on construction.
If it's not obvious from the reviews, this is a commercial operation that Darren is running, I think they are renting 1-2 floors in the building of this serviced apartment.
This means you'll never meet Darren (if that matters). You will meet his stand-in, Damon, who is a nice young man. He doesn't speak much English though.
The commercial nature of the enterprise comes with pros and cons. The biggest pro is that that there is a front desk where someone is available to help if you have any issues.
However, a well-oiled hospitality machine this is not. Overall it was an OK experience for the price, but it came with several annoyances:
-Internet that wasn't working in my room. Took me an hour of back and forth with the front desk to get it set up. Once running it was fast.
-Arriving slightly later than my scheduled (and confirmed) departure time to be told that my room wasn't ready. When it was, it was freshly cleaned, which in Shenzhen means it had dirty mop streaks running across the floor.
-Hard bed, but TIC (this is China), so not entirely surprising.
-Things missing from the bathroom like handsoap and shampoo (only conditioner).
Overall I would say it ranks about average for Shenzhen and is representative of the level of service you would get at a comparable hotel (The Vienna, for example) in Mainland China in 2015.
This means that it is just good enough but attention to detail is definitely lacking.
It was a good apartment, check in and check out was very flexible, however I had to change apartment after the first day which was annoying as it was not ready until 1pm the next day. Darren was not available but there was another person who was good, Communication was rather weak, no one speaks English so be prepared.. Overall for the price and location it was just what I wanted, but I felt afterwards I could have found a better apartment for a few dollars more, so do your research before clicking the instant booking. If you have little luggage you can get from the border to Darren's place for 5 RMB, Red Taxi 16 RMB, dont be fooled by the private taxi's, they will start at 150 RMB they latch onto foreigners. The drive is about 8 minutes, so be careful anyone saying it's far. Location was great, excellent restaurants, however the food stalls were superb. The metro station is great to get around, simple and easy. There is a lot of construction work so took me a day to get used to all the diversions, exit E is the nearest location from the metro to the apartment if walking back.
The room is clean and the location is convenient for access with many restaurants and stores surrounded. The host was nice.
Nice apartment, near lots of restaurants. Very simple checkin and checkout with flexible time for arrival and departure. The host was very good at communicating with fast response time.

Hi Everyone! My name is Darren and I operate a serviced apartment in the Futian District in Shenzhen. We are located right downtown of Shenzhen, in a short walking distance to the MTR and nearby the commercial district surrounded by big shopping malls.
