The Volcano is flowing! Pahoa is in jeopardy because the flow is dividing the little city right down the middle. Come and see Kileaua in action. Book your reservations in the Bali Hut and experience this act of nature. Madame Pele welcomes you.
The Balihut is located in a tropical setting of a forrested Ohia Grove on a 1 acre Gated property in Leilani Estates on the Big Island of Hawaii. 10 feet off the ground puts the Balihut up in the tall Ohia trees and Tropical Vegetation.
Pahoa and Puna are ecclectic and still has the old Hawaii Charm. Strictly off the tourist radar, this is one of Hawaii's best kept secrets. Abundant with attractions including volcanos, surfing beaches and hot ponds this is a must for the adventurer with an affordable budget.
This is a hut in the trees, comfortable, clean and exotic.
Extremely unique and memorable experience! Living among the frogs and geckos was the coolest. I went to take a shower and all of a sudden I was part of a National Geographic special on geckos and frogs. There's 2 geckos that live in the shower/outdoor bathroom area. Vibrant green with a red paw print looking pattern on their back. Frogs everywhere. If you don't mind a small space and limited amenities, it's definitely worth staying a night or 2 for the experience. I will say that Mosquitos find their way in so make sure you bring repellant.
As far as locatio goes, you're striking distance to volcano park, lava tubes, waterfalls, and a naturally hot ocean pool with tropical fish (including puffers!) to look at. Bring a snorkel and rent a car. The host, Dickie, was super nice. The treehouse was very private so no issues at all as far as that goes.
The treehouse was so cozy and simple! Dickie was the best, giving us great recommendations for local swim spots. Even has a hot shower, stove and coffee! Would absolutely recommend
We really enjoyed our stay at the Bali Hut Treehouse! We stayed at a number of places on the big island and this was by far our favourite. The place is unique, has plenty of privacy and all the amenities you'd need (loved the outdoor bathroom), while the rainforest atmosphere is really a sound you'll take back home with you. All that and Dickie was a very friendly, thoughtful, and accommodating host.
We found Pahoa to be a very entertaining location - close enough to Hilo to get into town regularly, and closest place to a lot of the East sides best swimming areas. If you're there on a Wednesday, go check out Uncle Roberts farmers market - fantastic! Cheers for the tip off and stay Dickie!
The treehouse was awesome, as always. Such comfortable and relaxing...always have the best sleep there. Dickie is so helpful and responsive, it's our favorite place to stay in Pahoa.
The Bali Hut Treehouse was great. It is a simple, rustic (but fully equipped) bungalow with plenty of privacy in a rain forest setting. You must have some love for nature as the bathroom/shower is outside (but covered) and there are plenty of lizards and tree frog running about. There is a mini fridge, 2 burner hot plate and enough kitchen items to prepare simple meals. The wifi is fast and reliable if this is on your list of needed vacation items.
The location is a convenient 5 minute drive to the "downtown" Pahoa area with restaurants, convenience stores, etc, a 5-15 minute drive to coastal sights (snorkeling, hot pools, etc) and a 30-45 minute drive to the volcano sights. It was perfect for our visit to the Hilo side of the Big Island.
Dickie was great with her commutations and meeting upon a late arrival. She was easily accessible with any questions or needs. Thanks!
