Interaction with Guests
i am always available to help with anything during your stay. most times i am staying locally, and if i am personally not available, i have a support system readily available to assist with any last minute questions.
the feeling at our cabin is totally remote, while being just minutes to all that big bear lake has to offer. i have wonderful neighbors that enjoy meeting new people and are always friendly.
MARTA, the local bus line runs along big bear blvd. including the ski resorts.
Other Things to Note
we have a propane grill and propane fire table available for our guests. if the propane gets low there are places right nearby to refill. we do not know how much this is used, so sometimes our guests need to refill as needed. we hope that you can leave as much propane as you found upon arrival. Lakeview Market is 1/4 mile towards the village, and will exchange an empty propane tank for a full one...
there is a trick to getting the burners on the grill lit: only open one burner when lighting, then open the others. this allows enough gas to catch hold of the flame.
As with many homes, our plumbing cannot accommodate even "flushable" baby wipes. Please do not flush anything but toilet tissue.
Please no smoking inside, including the garage. There is a 4 car maximum according to the City of Big Bear Lake. If you have more than 10 in your party, there is a 35$ charge per/night additional person. While the garage/game room is not heated and chilly in the winter, we have lots and lots of blankets & sleeping bags, and have insulated it for extra warmth.

After least year's debacle of last minute 4th of July Big Bear cabins, we decided to give airbnb a chance. We searched high and low for a cabin that would offer all that we wanted- enough room to take 10 people, accepted pets, had a hot tub, and a pool table. This location had all that. Our host made us feel welcome by a small basket of snacks and coffee available for us in the kitchen. It within walking distance of town, but it was just a short drive away. The patio decks had such beautiful views of the mountain side and we were lucky enough to see an incredible sunset the second night of our stay. Everyone in the group could have time together, but be separate if they wanted as well. At one point we had 4 people playing games in the game room, 3 people watching a movie in the living room, someone cooking in the kitchen, and someone outside enjoying the view. There was something for everyone. The only thing that was challenging in having 10 adults stay there was that some had to sleep in the game room, which was a converted garage. It was a bit cold and even with the blankets, was somewhat uncomfortable. If I stay again, I would bring an air mattress for someone to put in one of the bedrooms. That being said, all the other rooms accommodated everyone very well. The master bedroom bed was SO comfy. Probably the most comfortable bed I've stayed in while out of town. The sofas were very comfortable as well. The host, Lisa, was sweet and checked in on us a few times to make sure everything was going well. All and all, a great trip!
This house is amazing! Beautiful and comfortable. Lisa, the owner is great to work with. Very prompt to respond to messages and available at all times should a need arise.
Great experience!! One of the best homes we have stayed at in Big Bear. This home had all of the features and amenities we were looking for. Looking forward to our next trip there and will definitely be booking this home again.
The cabin was perfect! Surprised our friend for her birthday and had a blast- the fire table, game room, and hot tub made for a relaxing/entertaining weekend. Short walk to the lake and to town. We slept 9 people comfortably. Lisa was super helpful and friendly and available for questions. Can't wait to return!!
Lisa called on arrival day to ask if all was well. She gave us recommendations I asked for about coffee places and restaurants (both turned out well!) and was ready to answer any further questions. She encouraged me to call her with anything else we might need or have questions about.
The house is on a short residential road among much smaller residences. There is a bit of lake view (even less than usual due to drought) but mostly of other homes and yards. The house itself is very comfortable with a great mountain-cabin ambiance. The main floor is spacious, with 2 huge sofas, large and well-equipped kitchen, large dining table. Master bedroom with king bed and attached bathroom on main floor, with 1/2 bath in hall; sliding doors to deck with grill, table and chairs, fire lit and chairs. Lower floor with two bedrooms--one with double bed, other with single plus bunk beds, shared full bath. Laundry room with folding counter was great. Game room with couches, pool table, ping pong, and various table games. Access from both lower level bedrooms to lower deck with hot tub, which we enjoyed very much.
The location of the house in relation to town was just fine--a few minutes' easy drive to the "village" with very nice shops and restaurants, and about 15 minutes to a more commercial area with large grocery and drug stores, etc. if you have bikes, you could ride to the village, but you would be on a fairly busy 2-lane road. Walking would be too far. But Big Bear Lake itself has several biking, walking, and hiking trails of various lengths and difficulty levels, with a number of places to rent equipment.
We were 6 adults staying this time, but kids would be well accommodated in this house, too. We all noted that the kitchen was very well equipped, with plenty of plates, glasses, utensils for a large group, plus a 6-burner stove, wine cooler, and lots of counter space.
All in all, a very comfortable house.
This place is amazing! Steps from the lake, close to town, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. House comes fully stocked with everything you could need. Jacuzzi was nice and hot and has an amazing view to sip a glass of wine and watch the sun set over the mountains. Lisa made us feel very welcome and let us know she was closeby if we needed anything. Overall it was an excellent experience. We will definitely be coming back!
Great place to stay at in Big Bear. The house was cozy and clean. It was really easy to communicate with Lisa.
Can absolutely recommend this place :)

About the Host, Lisa
I live in the main house, in front of our place that we rent, with my husband, 15 year old son, our small pup, named Puppy, our other small pup named Honey Bear. I am an artist working in film and television on special projects such as portraits, murals, and myriad hand painted props. On weekends in the winter i work on ski patrol at Bear Mountain - 2 hours away. My husband is a family practice doctor, and we both love the great outdoors. Listing on Airbnb has provided us with the amazing opportunity to meet people from all over. It has been enriching and rewarding to connect with different ages, cultures and personalities. We are interested in travel, sports of all kinds and have a sense of adventure. we love cultural exchange and are eager to hear different points of view. we look forward to meeting you.....
