The Space

You've probably heard by now that Bushwick is the next Williamsburg and this apartment is 10 minute walking distance to the center of all the action. The gorgeous over-sized Master Bedroom you are inquiring about has its own bathroom inside the bedroom -- the bathroom is totally private for your use only.
Also all its windows are going to a quiet backyard belonging to the property.
The 3 bedroom apartment is seated right off the L&M train with tons of grocery stores, hip bars, new restaurants, and art galleries steps away. This unique apartment has 3 sunny bedroom, 2 full baths, a beautiful kitchen with spacious countertops, 12ft ceilings, and very spacious closets. Also the apartment faces south so you get lots of light all day.

The L&M train at the Wyckoff&Myrtle stop is literally right around the corner which makes a commute to the city approximately 15 minutes. You have many food and dining options from organic grocery stores to 5 star restaurants and bars.

Bikes can be rented from a local shop less than one block from our house. I also have two bikes which you can rent for $15 per day.

The New York Times had recently an article featuring Bushwick as the neighborhood to be in -- please feel free to read online:
The New York Times
ART REVIEW, June 7, 2012
"The Latest Vibe Moved to Brooklyn"

Also Bushwick is called New York's new Soho by Artnews:
A Scene Grows in Brooklyn
BY Carolina A. Miranda POSTED 01/24/12
"Artists by the hundreds have been flocking to Bushwick, a working-class neighborhood just east of trendy Williamsburg. Curators, collectors, and dealers are following."

Also a great piece on restaurants in Bushwick by the NY Daily News on February 23, 2014:
"Bushwick is becoming a foodie haven"
and by the New York Magazine listing some of the recently opened bars in Bushwick on May 4th 2014: "The Bushwick Barsplosion"

Last not least not only Lonely Planet is featuring Bushwick the destination for a NYC greatest outdoor graffiti collection, but also the New York Times has recently published on May 3, 2013 the following arcticle: "Bushwick Gets a Fresh Coat: A Son of Bushwick Turns the Neighborhood Into a Gallery for Street Art"

About the room:
It's a Private Master Bedroom with an inside ("en suite") bathroom (bathroom is connected directly to the bedroom).
There is a comfy queen size bed, a in-built closet and a desk so you can use the Internet, watch movies, listen to music or work as needed as the whole apartment has high speed WiFi. The Master Bedroom can accommodate 2-4 people as an additional real queen size mattress can be fit in the room as shown in the picture.

The main floor is an open plan living room/ kitchen, and fully available for you: guests will have use of a completely functional and spacious kitchen with all new appliances. The entire apartment has great light, new hardwood floors, and two full bathrooms.

Please refer to my other listing to see the other bedroom which is available to rent out also:

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • I stayed in this room for 3 months during Spring.
First of all, the room and the whole apartment does NOT look like in the pictures. There isn't a living room at all, because there was built in a complete new room. Therefore, there is no window and it is very dark when you come in. In my bedroom was no desk, but instead of a desk there was another futon bed used as couch. As I studied in New York I really missed the desk, there was no place for me to do my homework and projects. Internet also didn't work very good, it often broke off.
The bed was very uncomfortable as it squeaked with really every movement!!
The kitchen seemed too dirty to me to cook, so I never did.
A plus was the own bath room, very rare in New York.
The surrounding of the apartment was okay, only 30 mins to Manhattan, but there are mostly Latin-Americans so you'd better love loud salsa music until late night!
Sasha was very nice and helpful although we did not see each other very often. I also have seen Marc only once and I was disappointed about how he handled the room handover, because all communication was only through mails.
All in all, I cannot completely recommend the room / apartment. It needs to be cleaned up and the pictures have to be updated to how the apartment really looks like, but for the 3 months I stayed there it was okay.

  • We had a really great stay at Marc's! The place was as described and perfect for the 4 of us. It's really close to the station and convenient supermarkets. Marc was extremely helpful leading up to our stay and answered all of our questions quickly. Sascha was an awesome host (with great taste in music!) and we loved having Gatsby there for a couple of days. Definitely recommend this place.

  • We stayed at Marc's place for 3,5 months. It was very nice. The room is good with a private bathroom.
Sascha, who lives there, is very nice and friendly. The contact with Marc was good and quick.
The location is very good, just 5 minutes walk from the subway. It takes 20 minutes to Union Square.
The neighborhood feels nice and safe.
    We enjoyed our time here.

  • I moved to NYC and needed a place for my first month (until (email hidden)). I stayed at Marc's apartment for a month. It was a great experience. It is only about two blocks from the train station, so the location is very convenient.
The apartment is super cute, very comfortable, new, clean and well maintained. Having my own bathroom was a plus.
Marc was even open to let me host a friend who was visiting for 3 days. Since there was enough space for another person in the room, this wasn't even uncomfortable.
Sasha, Marc's friend who lives here is great as well, very friendly and helpful at anytime, if I needed anything or had any questions.
One of the reasons why I picked this place was because it is pet friendly. My cat lived here very happily, he loved laying on the sun at the windows and he actually cried the next two nights after leaving this place. He for sure misses it.
All the roommates were very thoughtful and nice to him too.
Thank you Marc for hosting us!

  • I stayed six weeks in the nice room in Marc´s apartement in Bushwick. The 3-story house is well situated in a Latin American neighborhood with some Mexican, Ecuadorian and Italian restaurants. The subway station to Manhattan is some hundred meters from the house and bus connections to Brooklyn downtown are good.
The room is newly renovated, clean and have a nice view to the garden.
Marc himself is an openminded, intelligent and helpful person. Sacha, living in the some house, helped me in many practical problems.
I had a nice, unforgettable stay in Brooklyn and I can warmly recommendate the sunny room to everyone.

  • We really enjoyed our stay. Nice and clean apartment, cozy bathroom and kitchen. Communication with Mark was fast and nice. Also Mark's roommate Sasha is very friendly guy, we had a nice talk with him.

There is a very good shop "Food Bazar" near the apartment, you can buy there anything for making your eat. Also it is very close to subway (L, M train).

  • Everything was ok. Mark and his roommate Sascha was very friendly.
They let us to check-in late (about 2:00am) - it's really good.
But if you want to go to Manhatten often - it could be better for you to live in the Manhatten (taxi from-to Manhatten cost 25-30$)

  • Had a great stay in this really spacy (especially for NYC) Bushwick appartment. The Bedroom was super nice and had a bathroom of its own. Everything was super clean, the beds were comfy and it's a pretty calm neighborhood at night (the room is to the backyard). Marc and his roommate were super friendly, open, very helpful and flexible about check out time.
The neighborhood is mostly Mexican and seems to be not yet touched by gentrification. Both the L and M trains are very close, and make it easy to reach both Williamsburg and in Manhatten with a short ride.
I would totally recommend to stay in this place and will certainly check for availablity next time I'm in the city.
