The Space

Want to experience Amsterdam in a original way? Come stay at our apartment in the cosy neighborhood De Pijp. What to expect?

The apartment
our house isn't huge, but not that bad for Amsterdam standards. Its a 70 square meter two-floored apartment. On the front side of the house there's an open kitchen. The big table in the open kitchen is a nice place to have a glass of wine together before cooking or a late sunday morning breakfast. Get yourself a coffee (we have a Nespresso machine) and walk to the corner of the street for a newspaper. Want to relax more? At the backside of the room there's the living room with big couch plus tv. Here you find the staircase to go down, where the bathroom and bedroom (quiet and dark) can be found.

What do you find in our house?
- design and vintage furniture (mixture of Dutch and Danish design)
- a well equipped kitchen with good coffee
- flowers and candles
- no dust
- (too) many books and magazines on cooking and interior

Listing of facilities:
- 4 pits stove
- 2 ovens
- magnetron
- watercooker/toaster
- fridge
- washing machine
- nespresso machine
- tv
- iron
- wifi
- games and books (Dutch mainly)

What do we like?
- interior, architecture, arts, photography
- good (fresh) food, markets, cooking, delicatesse stores, sunday morning or any afternoon hot spots,
- sports and exercise

What nice stuff do we have around the area?
Enough to satisfy our hobbies mentioned above. The location of the apartment is very central, which makes sightseeing very easy: walk/cycle/public transport anywhere you want. (cycle can be rend, after consultation). In our street you can find a selection of different restaurants (most independent) with dutch, asian, vegetarian, italian, french foods. Coffeebars and tapas PLUS very nice vintage designer clothes shop / tailor / biological grocery store / laundry / art galery. People are walking around and the area is vivid, but not crowded!

A few minutes walk: the Albert Cuyp-market, Museum square (Concertgebouw, Stedelijk Museum, Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum), most luxery shopping street of Amsterdam PC Hoofdstraat, indoor swimmingpool Zuiderbad, Saphatie parc (prettiest of the cities), Vondelpark (biggest of Amsterdam, couple of places to have a coffe/snack etc) , jazz cafe De Badcuyp, many restaurants and bars and boutiques. Canals are on a 10-15 minute walking distance. Jordaan can be reached by walking (25 minutes), public transport, bicycle or taxi.

All the rest can be reached by bike or one of the so many trams. We can give directions!
