LOCATION: We are located in the HEART of the city of San Francisco. The location is KEY in the center of great food, cafés, shopping, transportation, farmer's markets, the very popular Dolores Park, Hipsterville and a great neighborhood vibe! The San Francisco Bay Area attracts millions of tourists every year and is known for its varied cuisine, panoramic views, scenic drives, music, museums, and especially for its diverse, cosmopolitan population. For GuideBook, please see listing -The Urban Oasis SF.*
TRANSPORTATION: MUNI, BART, Golden Gate Transit: San Francisco public transportation is world class, just like the city itself. You can get just about anywhere in the SF Bay Area on the public transit system. Just ask and I'll let you know how to get there, but in any case maps will be provided! Cars can also easily be rented from nearby car rental agencies. The Old Fashioned Street Car runs right out in front. The J Church runs on the cross street Church. There's the K L M T underground subway lines within a few block radius and the 22 and 33 bus lines one block away in either direction.
A taxi from the airport is approximately $40 -$50 one way depending how much you tip.
2 Hour Street Parking is available M-F. Evenings & weekends there's no time limit, but check signs for street cleaning.
CLIMATE & WEATHER: As Mark Twain once said" The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco." Which doesn't mean that we don't have good weather or warm days, but the best policy is: if you're prepared for the worst, then you'll always be pleasantly surprised! It's just gets really windy as the day progresses and we are known for relentless fog, but more so if you're staying near the coast. Don't go toward the beach unless it's really really hot and you'll be OK I promise! Always pack an umbrella, a windbreaker and a few extra long-sleeved, layers just to be on the safe side! The neighboring, Dolores Park is actually our "urban beach" anyway because it's a big, huge park with a whole lot of activities for the whole family from soccer, tennis, basketball, and a playground for the little-ones to live performances, festivals, and concerts or just plain old partying, bbq's and having a great time with a group of friends on a beautiful day :)
SF & BAY AREA EVENTS INFO:
You can pick up a free SF Weekly or SF Guardian newspaper on just about any corner in the city to find out about night life or online to find a variety of events info as well. There are more than plenty of diverse cultural events, music, art, dance, open mikes, sports, nature/outdoor, nightlife, etc. and there is something here for everybody! SF is a very vibrant, cosmopolitan and internationally recognized city for it's array of cultural diversity, architecture, unique history and of course, liberal politics. (*Just a side note: our neighbor, Dennis Peron, an activist and former partner of Harvey Milk who lives a few doors down with the Buddha painted on his garage door, authored Proposition 215: medical marijuana fyi :-) Tours can be arranged of his very "San Francisco style" home. He was also featured in the film "Milk' with Sean Penn, who also lives in the North Bay among other actors such as Robin Williams and Creator of Star Wars- George Lucas).
Within a short walking distance, there is an array of international cuisines to choose from at affordable prices. Please see our Guidebook in 'The Urban Oasis' listing for more info! You name it we've got it from Italian, Vietnamese, Mexican, Spanish, Mediterranean, Burmese, Vegan/Vegetarian, Indian, Thai, French, Cuban, to food trucks, smoothies stands, raw health food and many small independently owned gourmet deli markets and cafés, farmer's markets as well as large commercial supermarkets.

My stay with Christina was my first experience with Airbnb and it has definitely raised the bar on what I will expect from Airbnb hosts, because she was absolutely amazing. Initially I was supposed to stay at her place for only two nights, but was so happy with the experience that I ended up staying for two extra nights. One way to express how content I am with my experience is to let you know that I've been looking forward to the opportunity to leave a review of my stay with her.
Christina has been hosting guests for several years already and it shows -- she has foreseen every detail of the stay and goes out of her way to make her guests' visit most convenient and comfortable. To give you one tiny example, when I got to her place, not only was the room in excellent condition and clean, but there was also a hand-written letter waiting for me welcoming me into the apartment and providing the details for internet connection. Because of the years of experience, Christina has thought about all your needs before you have expressed them and addresses them before you've had to make any requests.
Christina is both very professional and a wonderfully empathetic person. On the one hand, she's extremely prompt in responding to booking requests -- I had an urgent situation and reached out to her only an hour before I needed to move in and she responded to me immediately, accepted my request, and prepared the room for me within the hour. On the other hand, she opened up her place to me for extra days and let me book her room for 4 rather than 2 days when she found out that I was having a difficult time finding another place to stay.
Christina, thank you so much, I will never forget your kindness and hospitality!
I loved staying at the Urban Oasis III. The entire space was very clean, quiet and relaxing. I had very restful stay! The space is so close to everything in the city. Read Christina's guide to the city!!; it's really helpful. I also recommend getting to know Christina; she was a really amazing host.
Urban Oasis is absolutely lovely. I felt right at home! The location is fantastic - so close to lots of amazing restaurants and very easy to get around with all the public transport options nearby. The vibe of the place is very relaxed and peaceful. Christina and Héctor were very friendly and really easy to get along with. For travellers seeking a touch of tranquility in the middle of the big city I highly recommend.
Christina was attentive and hospitable. The location was fabulous -- we loved being close to Dolores Park. And the flat felt vintage San Francisco!
Our stay near the Urban Oasis was great. The apartment is really nice, clean and comfortable. Moreover is located in a strategic area and Christina and Hector are really kind and helpful. Just regret we stayed only for two days. If you search a place to stay in San Francisco this is a perfect choice!
Such a great place! Perfect location (just blocks from Dolores Park, Valencia shopping, great restaurants, a BART station & all the burritos you can possibly stuff down your gullet) & suuuper cozy. We loved having a really cute, clean and homey place to hunker down when the wind got rough Sunday night. Highly recommended!
This place certainly lives up to its popularity. Once I booked it, the correspondence was immediate and I knew I made the right choice. When I arrived I was welcomed by both Hector and Christina, who are lovely people. The place was clean, spacious, relaxed; and I felt at home almost instantly. The location is perfect.
Most importantly there was a great balance in their hosting approach; they were involving me in their conversations and lives, without being overbearing or trespassing my personal space. Will definitely book again! :)
We yust felt like being home! Thats the best feeling you can have on a long trip. Thank you!
Me and my mother came to San Francisco for the first time and we had a lovely time at Christina's and Hector beautiful and very clean house. They created a beautiful atmosphere. They really helped me in my first days in San Francisco, i would definitely recommend staying with them.
